Story
Meet Frosty! DOB 1/25/2024 Weight: 11 lbs Frosty was adopted as a puppy and is being returned due to medical issues in his family. He is very energetic, loves to play and run (zoom!), and is very vocal (so no apartments!). Frosty is super sweet and loving, very intelligent, is completely potty trained and never has accidents. He has a tendency to guard things and for this reason, should not be in a home with small children. He does great with other dogs including in daycare/group play but hasn't been around cats before.  He sleeps in a kennel at night and eats twice per day (in the morning and in the afternoon). He prefers to eat on a mat rather than out of a bowl. Frosty's favorite thing is to chew on bully sticks throughout the day, likes to go to bed at about 9:00 PM and usually gets up at around 6:00 AM. He loves to be around people. He rings the bell to go outside or will look at you and bark. If you then ask him if he wants to go outside, he will bark again. Frosty likes to eat canned food mixed in with his dry food. Frosty doesn't shed but will need regular, professional grooming and daily brushing to be healthy and comfortable. Please consider this added expense when applying to adopt him.  Frosty's adoption fee is $500. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.  Please complete an adoption application and someone will reach out to you within 48 hours via email.  Adoption Application - Legacy Humane Society **** DFW area applications only ***  We do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Heathcliff is a 1–2-year-old 9-pound neutered male Maltese/Havanese mix.  Neutered, current on all vaccines, heart worm negative, microchipped crate trained and working on house training. Heathcliff is still learning about the world and will need a family that understands the time, patience and commitment that comes with a young adult dog. This will include potty training, learning basic commands, regular exercise, and lots of play time in a backyard with a secure wooden fence. Heathcliff is very curious and likes toys so make sure you have lots of toys to help him grow into a well manner adult dog. Heathcliff would do best with a dog his size, age and energy level. He loves to play. His breed will need regular grooming.  He is an escape artist, and we need to be monitor closely when doors open and close. Heathcliff is a barker when playing and when left alone so an apartment lifestyle is not ideal for him.  If you are ready to welcome this sweet boy into your home and help him grow into the best dog, he can be, he would love to meet you.
