Pirata is full of love and is eager to have some fun in a foster home while they recover from an upper respiratory infection. Reason for Foster: URI Foster Time Frame: 2+ weeks(The foster time frame may be shorter or longer depending on future rechecks and medical needs.) Foster Care Plan: Pirata is currently undergoing treatment for an upper respiratory infection, which is similar to a common cold. There is a possibility that they are contagious to other animals, so we strongly recommend keeping them separated in a bedroom or bathroom away from your personal pets until they have fully recovered. They will go home with medication and we will provide supplies and a medical consultation at pickup so you are fully prepared to care for this sweetie. Keke is a very special girl. She will do well in a home with a medium sized family or one single peson that does not mind her clingyness. She is not house-trained so she will need to either be trained or be taken outside at LEAST twice a day. For this reason, I highly recommend someone who is active or outdoorsy. Our walks can range from 5 minutes to an hour. She doesn't really like the rain when the grass is wet however if she has to go she will. When I first got Keke from the shelter, I was lucky in the sense that she could eat almost anything; however, nowadays she is a little more picky, especially if she smells or sees a better option. I homemake her own food using pasta noodles, ground turkey, chicken hearts, veggies, and supplements; however, she also really enjoys the Just Food for Dogs BOXED food. She will eat dry food as a LAST resource and doesn't really like any of the store brand wet foods (to my knowledge). Would be great with a family/person with one other SMALL dog.

She arrived to us about a month ago with a detached foot, and after evaluation by our veterinary partners, her leg was amputated to give her the best chance at a pain‑free life. She has since fully healed, adjusted beautifully, and is now ready for her forever home.Despite everything she has been through, Button has remained a gentle, loving little dog. She gets around well on three legs and has a bright, affectionate personality that makes her easy to fall in love with.
