Update: so he went for his haircut so we have added new pictures Meet Sven, will get better pictures once he been groomed on Monday. He is a little guy, hypo allergenic and will need regular grooming. Since he is tiny we would prefer a home with no small children, teenagers and up would be ok. We don't know how he would do with cats since there are none here. He loves attention and will keep jumping in your lap to get petted. He is completely vetted including being neutered. Just like the title character in the children’s book Corduroy, Apricot Ringo is cute as a button and just wants to go to a home with someone who will cherish him. He has that little kid innocence and really wants to engage but the world can be scary sometimes. And like little kids he sometimes messes up but that’s because he’s still learning. He gets along with other dogs, especially small ones. He’s starting to open up and find out how to play with others. He does sleep in his crate and will walk on a leash. There’s so much more he can learn in the right home. With a little patience he will make the most adorable, cuddly, and devoted companion. He will also need an adopter devoted to his health needs as they change over time. Ringo has a severe luxating patella that may require surgical intervention in the future. She’ll need a patient, understanding adopter who can help support her mobility and overall well-being. Despite her medical needs, Ringo’s cheerful personality shines through, and she’s ready to share her love and joy with a family who can provide the care she deserves. Despite his visual limitations, he navigates the world with confidence and curiosity, always eager to meet new friends and share gentle snuggles. Dog Day Out Review: "Minty is truly as sweet as can be. He was great in the car, and just stayed in his little car seat bed and didn’t make a peep. He got a bath prior and loved to roll around in the blanket that I brought for him. It was so cute! He loves to be held! He is extremely calm, and fell asleep a few times in the sun during our time together. Whether it was in my lap, in the grass or in his bed, I don’t think he really cared where he was, he just loved to relax in the sun! Super easy going. Despite his vision impairment he loved to be outside. He was good on leash too, didn’t pull and was easy to redirect when he was going in circles :) Such a gentle soul!" Sleepover review: "Has not made a single peep (no barking or crying), he is super quiet! Slept the entire night in his gated area He is obsessed with blankets. All he wants to do is snuggle up and bury himself into a ton of blankets. The key to Minty’s heart = blankets! He doesn’t really go on “walks” moreso just enrichment sniffing outside. He will bump into things so just be cautious on that of course! Fully potty trained !!!! Despite him being blind, he’s really easy going :) and also easy to take care of He’s special in his own way. He’s kind of more like a cat lol but in the best way possible."

I was rescued from a breeder who didnt want to spend money on our care when we didnt sell. Thankfully, our amazing friends at The Charlie Project stepped in and gave me a second chance! Now I'm safe, loved, and settling into my foster home while I wait for my forever family to find me! Right now, Im couch surfing with my foster momma, soaking up all the cuddles I can. Im still just a baby, so Im working hard on potty training and learning all the good puppy mannersbut what I lack in experience, I make up for in love and sweetness! Were looking for a forever family who will love and care for us for our whole lives. If youre interested, please apply at thecharlieprojectdogrescue.comwe do not respond to Petfinder emails. A few important notes: We only adopt to families living in Illinois, Wisconsin, or states that directly border either IL or WI. If you rent, please have your landlord contact us directly to confirm that dogs are allowed in your home. Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.
