Story
Hello, I’m Tony (Anthony)! I am a playful and smart 1.5 year old Mountain Cur mix with a handsome brindle coat. I am just over 40 pounds, making me the perfect medium sized pup. I had a rough start down in Texas, but got a second chance at life thanks to Safe Haven and my foster family! When I arrived to my foster home, I knew no basic commands. I now know “sit”, “shake”, “down”, “leave it”, and “speak”! I am completely housebroken and crate trained. Most nights I snuggle with my foster family in bed, but I also find comfort in my crate and will sleep soundly in there throughout the night. I love my foster family’s resident dogs and get along and play respectfully with them. Tug of war is my favorite! I also do pretty well on a leash and love to take walks. I enjoy lick mats, snuffle mats, and enrichment puzzles to keep my mind busy too. While I have learned to respect my foster family’s resident cats, I would probably do best in a home without them. I would, however, thrive in a home with another playful pup! I have not met any kids, so I’m not sure how I would do with them. I am still getting socialized and am a little weary with strangers, but if you give me treats I warm up pretty quickly! If you are ready for a loyal and playful companion, I just may be your perfect match! Our standard adoption fee is $375 cash or check and $385 credit card ($10 processing fee). . It includes spay/neuter when age appropriate at our participating vets, age appropriate core vaccinations, fecal testing, deworming, flea and tick preventative,1st vet visit at one of our participating vets, and micro-chipping. We must have an application, conduct a phone interview, and meet your entire family to approve an adoption. Applications will not be reviewed unless fully completed. An application does not commit you to adopting and does not guarantee adoption but does allow us to begin the review process. Please email adopt@safehavendogsIL.org for an application or additional details. Please note that the breeds and sizes posted in this biography are educated best guesses and are not guaranteed. Safe Haven Dog Rescue reserves the right to refuse adoption of any dog or puppy to any applicant (adopter) for any reason.

Story
This girl was found as a stray and her owners refused to come pick her up so she is in search of another home. She is a sweet lady, a bit shy, but friendly. She is out of any puppy energy phase but does still like to play and she does get the zoomies. She was house-trained so would need to relearn it. She does well in a car and is okay on a leash. She does not get along with smaller dogs and probably not a fan of cats. She will need time to warm up to a person but is just a sweetheart when she knows you! She would be wonderful as a walking companion and lounge buddy. She is in Tennessee but can be transported to you through Rescue Riders.

Story
Hey, I’m Hoolligan – don’t let the name fool you, I’m more heartthrob than troublemaker. With my stunning brindle coat and easygoing vibes, I’m basically the cover model for “Chill Dogs Monthly.” I’m super dog-friendly, love lounging outside like I’m on a staycation, and I’ll happily be your sunshine buddy. I specialize in looking majestic while doing absolutely nothing. Honestly, I’m so laid-back I make hammocks look uptight. If you’re into good looks, great company, and zero drama, I’m your guy – foster, adopt, or just admire from afar (but closer is better).

Story
Dandelion is a smart, energetic, and oh-so-playful puppy who's ready to blossom into an amazing companion. She's currently learning the ropes of home life and making great progress with house and crate training. She is a quick learner with lots of potential! She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but with just a few minutes (and maybe a few gentle pets), she warms right up and shows off her sweet, affectionate side. Dandelion is also working on becoming a more confident pup, and she’s already showing great signs of growth. This playful girl loves to be outside and is absolutely obsessed with squeaky toys! She enjoys rough-and-tumble play and might be a bit much for super-submissive pups, so a confident canine sibling or a dog who loves an active play style would be ideal. Quick stats! --Dogs: does well with dogs --Cats: has not been introduced to cats --Children: has not been introduced to children --Likes: outside hangs and play dates, squeaky toys (seriously, she lives for them), and zooming around the yard If Dandelion sounds like the right fit for your home, fill out an adoption application today! muttsofthemidway.org/adopt
