ANNIE = SOLAR ECLIPSE ADOPTION SPECIAL THRU OCTOBER 29, 2023 - $100 Annie needs foster or adopter asap. Annie is an 1.5 yr old, 47# pound, female, Coonhound mix that came in to the shelter as a stray. She was running with another dog. Annie is a happy, playful girl that is friendly and enjoys being part of what her human is doing. She is working on her separation anxiety. She has plenty of energy, although not spastic, and is looking for an active family of her own. She experiences a little stress at first. But warms up quickly. We do want to reiterate that she was brought in with another dog, and she seemed to be fine with him. In her current foster home, she plays with the kitties and 2 of the dogs. Also, when she is out of the kennel in a play yard, she is very cuddly and happy towards people! Annie is utd on all vetting, spayed, chipped. Completely ready for her FUREVER home 💜 She would do best with older kids so she doesnt accidentally knock them down playing. Her adoption fee is $250. BARLEY - = SOLAR ECLIPSE ADOPTION SPECIAL THRU OCTOBER 29, 2023 - $100 Barley is a 7.5 year old, 60 pound, spayed female Mountain Cur mix that came to shelter as a stray. Her right ear is permanently folded down, due to an old hematoma. But, it doesn’t seem to bother her at all. She is a friendly and playful girl, who likes squeaky, plush toys and LOVES a good scratch, especially on the base of her tail. According to her finder, Barley didn’t appear to like other animals, but was comfortable and friendly around young children. Barley is UTD on all her shots & completely vetted. Barley has some separation anxiety, which foster has worked with her on. She is doing amazing. Would love to get her into a foster to adopt home, with someone who is home with her. Story
FOSTERED IN: Chicago, IL 60625 ESTIMATED DOB: 04/2015 WEIGHT: 47lbs KIDS: Likely DOGS: Yes CATS: No HISTORY: Josie came to us from a rural Louisiana shelter. She came to us with Frito Pie when their owner passed away and the neighbor paid for boarding until they could find a shelter to take them. Josie was getting very depressed at the shelter. ABOUT: Josie is a very sweet and well behaved girl. She has excellent house manners and is housetrained and does not need to be crated while you are gone. She is happy to lounge on dog beds or the couch waiting for you to return. Josie has a very understated, calm personality. She is never boisterous or hyper. She is not fearful or shy, but she doesn’t run right up to visitors. She likes to take a few minutes to take them in before quietly walking over to see if they are interested in petting her. Josie has few demands of her people, but if you sit on the couch, she will hop up next to you and gently paw at you for attention, and prefers you never stop. If you ignore her for a few minutes she will walk to the other end of the couch and curl up for a nap. Josie does not bark just to hear herself or get attention, but she is good at alert barking to people lingering on the sidewalk, or walking through the alley. She will also occasionally join in if the dogs in the neighborhood are discussing something important. Josie has a fenced yard in her foster home, but she enjoys walks and is very easy to walk on leash. Josie enjoys walks and is excellent on leash. She also enjoys stuffed toys and will carry them around for a while before disemboweling them. Josie is also very stoic and although she doesn’t love things like baths and nail trims, she takes it like a champ without much protest. Josie is fostered with large and small breed dogs and is respectful and kind. She mostly keeps to herself and isn’t bothered when new fosters arrive and old fosters leave. She is very comfortable with other dogs around, but she doesn’t interact much and would very easily be just as happy as an only dog. Josie has a prey drive for rabbits and squirrels so she would not be appropriate for homes with cats or other small animals. Josie is not being fostered with children, but she has a very sweet, gentle personality. She would likely do well with calm or mature children as she wouldn’t be a huge fan of constant chaos and commotion or rough housing. Josie has completed the injections for heartworm treatment. She will need one final test to confirm it was successful in June of 2024. More information and our adoption application can be found at www.luluslockerrescue.org.
