Story
Asha’s owners loved her, but had a farm and she had a taste for the owner's chickens and made the choice to surrender her. Asha is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs, but due to her prey drive towards chickens, we are hesitant to suggest a home with small animals/cats. Asha is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
My name is Newton! I am a really really handsome boy. I am 2 years old and honestly, I need someone to take a chance on me. I am a mix of hound, maybe some mountain dog and venturing to say some Aussie. I am longing for a chance to sit on the couch with my humans and get lots of love and playtime. I am a nice boy! I am good with other dogs (we are unsure of cats and because I probably have some herding breed in me, we should stay away from the felines for now). I am playful, I love to walk and have fun outdoor adventures. This is what would work for me in a new home. A fenced in yard would be perfect for me and a single family home would be ideal. My family/person needs to be relatively active - a person that will put a little time into some basic training, take me for walks or hikes or maybe even a mild jog sometimes. Did I tell you I won a race with my caretaker! That's me in the picture at the race! I have not been around young kids so ASCZ is recommending kids 10+. I have always welcomed new faces and may jump with excitement. I will need some housebreaking work when I go into my new home. I am 2 years old so it shouldn't take me long and I am SMART. I am kind of like a big kid who wants to play and have a lot of fun. If you are interested in giving me a chance in a real home setting, please apply here! ASCZ will be very excited to talk to you! https://asecondchanceforziva.org/adopt/adoption-process-application/

Story
Hi!  My name is Tina and me and my sister Maeve are looking for forever homes after our owners were cited for having to many dogs within city limits.  Luckily, they were given time to find us somewhere else to go and then BCAA heard about our plight and said they would help us .... yeah!  We look almost exactly alike except I have white socks on all four of my feets and Maeve has only have one sock on her front left foot.  We are are around 22lbs apiece and since we are about 7mos old now, we should stay under 30lbs full grown.  No one knows for sure what we are mixed with ... some say whippet mix, some say mountain cur mix, but our foster mom says whatever we are we are both super cute with beautiful brindle coats.  We are pretty shy when first meeting new folks but with just a little bit of time, some TLC and then some treats both of us are coming out of our shells and love getting attention from our foster parents.  We really love our food and take treats gently.  We have done well in a crate, both separately and together, without any accidents but we would prefer to be out with you.  We are slowly learning about a leash but will need more training and confidence building so a fenced yard would be best for both of us.  We are not looking to be adopted together but a home with another dog to help guide us would be great and we have gotten along with all of the other small/medium sized dogs we have met; so far we have shown curiosity about the cats but have not been aggressive with them.  If you would like to meet me or my sister, please fill out an application which can be found at www.bcaaofnj.org.Interested in adopting this pet?Click here for BCAA's on-line Application! PLEASE NOTE: Our adoption fee helps to cover our expenses and includes all shots, *age appropriate*, distemper and rabies, fecal check, spay/neuter, heartworm test, grooming, and in many cases dental and also the fee we pay when we rescue from a shelter. Story
Meet Milo -- he’s an energetic, confident Mountain Cur pup with a heart of gold! At just under 1 y/o and 45ish lbs, he's a natural-born leader and loves to be on the go. Milo's always eager to learn and work, which makes him a perfect fit for farm, working, or active households. He's not one to mess around - Milo's all about pleasing his human and knowing what's expected of him. He already knows commands like Sit, Come and Stay.  Milo is also a social butterfly, having lived with small and large dogs and even feline friends (although he sometimes gets a bit frisky). While he's sure to be a hit with school-aged kids, his boundless energy might be a bit much for little ones. Whatever adventure comes his way, Milo is ready to take on the world with a wagging tail and a smile!  If you'd like to meet Milo, please visit ehrdogs.org and fill out an application.   April 26, 2024, 9:18 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.wagoninn.rescuegroups.org Jasper is a handsome boy who is looking for a home. Jasper is with our partner rescue in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ on our next transport. We offer a foster-to-adopt trial for approved adopters. Jasper and several other pups believed to be his siblings were facing euthanasia at a rural shelter in Louisiana only because the shelter was full of dogs. Jasper is a sweet, affectionate and playful boy who loves other dogs. There is no good reason for him to lose his life. Luckily he is safe now in a foster home but waiting to come to NJ and find his family. He is learning housebreaking, crate training and leash skills.  Jasper is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He  tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $550. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.   How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to  wagoninn.rescuegroups.org . Click on the orange Online Adoption Application button to fill out an application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon!
