Story
Radley has had an unsettled start to his life. He was abandoned a dog daycare in Northeast DC, where I work. After trying out a new home, he came back to me as he had some pretty severe separation anxiety. He has now been living with me, my husband, our German Shepherd, and our twin boys for twelve months. He is without a doubt, the sweetest, most loving soul I’ve met. He loves other dogs, he loves people, and he is truly wonderful with children. He has no known health issues and is very energetic. He would thrive in a home with another dog, active parents, and somewhere that he won’t be left alone. He needs to be with parents that understand dogs, how they behave, and are willing to work hard with training.

Story
2 years old, 66 lbs Personality: loyal, mischievous, eager-to-please, goofy/funny, playful, energetic, adventurous, rambunctious, and affectionate. Say hello to Peanut! This energetic boy is a ray of sunshine and super cuddly, preferring to be by your side as much as possible. He loves going outside and exploring, and tucking into a food puzzle after a good walk. At home, Peanut is happy to settle on the couch when you watch TV or read. Peanut is a smart, food-motivated pal who just wants to make his people smile. He is house trained, and still getting used to a crate, but he’s happy to cozy up in there at night if it’s in the same room as his beloved human. A real charmer, Peanut loves meeting new people, and he’s working on managing his excitable energy when greeting other dogs on walks. He would do well with an active adopter who can help him get his wiggles out and learn confidence about being left home alone. He’s making fantastic progress on his mischievous side, happily accepting cuddles, playtime, or toys as a distraction from chewing on something. This curious, adventurous, and goofy guy is ready to snuggle into his loving forever home with you. Apply today to meet Peanut! ________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. Submit an application today and change this sweet girl's life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. He still has plenty of great years ahead of him and is ready to find a family to share them with. His foster says Gentry has been an absolute pleasure. He’s a terrific walking buddy who stays right by your side, ignores squirrels, and politely greets other dogs. He also did great at the dog park and has wonderful manners wherever he goes. After spending so much time in the shelter, Gentry is learning commands from the beginning, but he’s incredibly smart and catching on quickly. He sleeps soundly through the night on his dog bed, is quiet around the house, and isn’t bothered by loud noises or busy surroundings.      If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion to join you on walks and spend time by your side, gentle Gentry is your guy.  Apply today!Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
