Story
Marvelous Mila! She is a brindle beauty with such amazing eyes. She can give those classic puppy dog looks which make us all swoon! This pretty girl was found as a stray. She was rather thin, and she seemed defeated. We just know that she is looking for love, compassion, and stability! She is such a sweetheart, and she adores chin scritches. And the occasional belly rub. What a good girl! Can you give this doll the home she so wants please? She looks forward to meeting you soon.

Story
Oh Chica! You are such a pretty brindle beauty, but you are so bashful. We are sorry someone left you tied to a bike rack and then left you all alone. We promise to find you a loving home where you will be treated like a true family member. Chica is really a very good girl who is a bit stressed in a shelter setting. She longs for a gentle, quiet home where she can build up her confidence. She has been doing her best and we are seeing little gains every day, so this sweetie has great potential! She is ready to bloom with love and kindness. Can you be the adopter of her dreams? She would love to see you soon and go home.

Story
Bruce is a fabulous example of a forgiving and loving dog that was abandoned and found himself on the streets of a small town in Tennessee.  He had nowhere to go and some kind people took him in to hold him safely while Critter Cavalry Rescue takes time to find him the best home ever.   He is a Plott hound/Pit mix from what we can see in his markings and his stature.  He is 2 years old and 65 pounds and he is one special dog that is so handsome and is truly a gentle giant!  This boy has everything going for him with great house manners and housebroken as well.  He crate trained and is living in a foster home in an apartment.  He is a medium energy young man that gets along well with the other dog in his foster home.  He loves play time outside, as well as being a snuggly couch potato. Bruce is learning to walk on leash and will need daily practice to stop pulling. He loves to ride in a car, likes carrots and ice cubes. When at home he loves to look out the window and will do that for hours.  Recently he spent some time boarding and was a favorite with the staff and he demonstrated an ability to be very sweet and easy with some of the children of the staff members.  The only NO about Bruce is that he is not fond of cats, so no feline siblings.  He would probably do best with another gentle, playful dog of his same size.  He would be fine being the only dog and always center of attention, too!  Older children over 7 years of age might be best, but only because of his size.  If you are looking for a best friend and/or family member to run, hike, play, explore, and then curl up for some couch time, Bruce is your guy!  He is so beautiful and regal.  He looks around like he is surveying his kingdom and hoping that all is well.  You could really make his life a happy ending if you could consider adopting Bruce.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com and ask all the questions that you need and also ask for an adoption form. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 20, 2024, 9:40 pm

Name:   Tonka      Best Guess for Breed:  Plott hound mix Best Guess for Age:  8 months as of December 2024      SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight:  40 lbs as of 11/23/24; still has a bit more to grow   Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home   Tonka is Looking For:   Her forever home! She landed in the shelter through no fault of her own and is oh so eager to once again have her own humans for sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up. She's pretty young, likely under a year old, and is eager to see and experience the world! To explore all the toys! To go to dog school to learn to be the bestest girl! And to make new pup and people pals along the way!   What she wants most of all, though, is to love and be loved, to know where she belongs, to know she's under her own roof every time the sun goes down. In exchange she promises adoring gazes and happy tail wags and snuggles and loyal companionship. What do you say? Is Tonka the companion you have been seeking? What My Foster Says About Me: Tonka is an absolute sweetheart of a dog! She hasn’t met a person or dog she doesn’t love! She has an adorable happy full body wiggle when she sees other pups. Her favorite thing to do is chew a good bone or shred a stuffed toy. She did a great job in the bath and is so happy to be clean. She loves a comfy dog bed. She was so cozy in her crate that she snored through the night. She is so happy to be out of the shelter and would make an amazing addition to anyone’s family.   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
