Story
** I am currently being housed at our New York Avenue location. Come meet me at 1201 New York Avenue NE, every day from 12pm-7pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 p.m. to allow ample time to interact with adoptable dogs. Or visit humanerescuealliance.org/how-to-adopt to learn more. Brindle beauty queen looking for love! My name is Lottie, and I am adorable! I have that amazing fur coat that all the other dogs envy. What can I say?!?! I am very pretty! And I am also VERY sweet and cuddly. I adore affection and I love to give it back. So, I ended up at HRA as my owner could not keep me. But I know I'll get a great home soon as I am smart (I already know "sit") and am very eager to learn more. And I have a good appetite. I actually need to gain some weight so be sure to get lots of yummy dog food please. If you need a new best friend, please look no further! Come to HRA soon and meet me please.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Female, approx. 2 years old, 50 lbs Personality: eager-to-please, smart, affectionate, goofy/funny, easygoing, adaptable, outgoing, snuggler, energetic, and playful. Greetings humans, I am Sheba, a canine queen bee ready to find my own royal family. As my royal name suggests, I love to be in the spotlight meeting and greeting my subjects, both human and animal alike. I share the royal household with human and feline subjects, and when I get a little too playful for the cat I defer to her and move along. Befitting of my regal stature, I am house trained and will retire to the privacy of my royal crate when my duties have been fulfilled. I also understand the words "sit", "stay", and "no". I love walking in my kingdom and sniffing to see who is in the neighborhood. When I am done with those royal duties, I love nothing better than a good bone to chew while I relax. Apply to meet me so we can take a walk while we discuss the latest royal canine gossip. ______________________________________________________________________________________ If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Leptospirosis, and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

Story
Bailey is sweet and very submissive. She is easy to walk, doesnt do too much barking and loves pets. She avoids other dogs.Bailey is in foster and this is what her foster mom has to say about her: Bailey is affectionate and playful. She loves being a part of a family, resting her head on your lap, giving kisses, and lying next to you. She is house trained, knows basic commands such as sit. She loves her daily walks and exploring but hold on tight, she also likes to suddenly take off to chase birds and flying leaves. Bailey loves to run around the yard and seeks out other dogs for play. She will do best in a home where there is a fenced yard for her to run and explore for daily exercise. She needs supervision while doing so as she likes to dig holes and eat whatever she can chew on in the yard including mulch and sticks. Bailey has yet to bark which may be a plus for those seeking a quiet companion. She has a sensitive, sweet temperament and needs a kind and loving permanent home. She does not like to be left alone and has torn apart almost every dog bed, rug or towel in her crate when bored during the night. Bailey is a bit male fearful.Bailey has another week to go on medication and a bit more weight to gain before being ready for spay.if you are interested in Bailey, please email fosterpgcpets@co.pg.md.us
