Submit an application today and change this sweet girl's life forever! Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/. Story
Dog's Name:   Bernie - COURTESY POSTEstimated Breed :   Plott HoundApproximate Age:  9 yearsApproximate Weight:  45 lbsCurrently Living at:  FosterDOG'S DESCRIPTION:   Meet BERNIE      Last July, Bernie was rescued in heartbreaking condition. This sweet senior Plott Hound was suffering from painful chronic dermatitis affecting his legs, belly, hind end, and ears. He desperately needed medical care, comfort, and stability. Then something wonderful happened. A compassionate woman named Diane saw Bernie’s story and knew he belonged with her. She adopted him, gave him the love and care he so desperately needed, and completely transformed his life. For the first time in a long time, Bernie knew comfort, safety, and unconditional love.     Sadly, last month, Diane unexpectedly passed away. Now Bernie has lost the person he loved most and once again finds himself searching for a forever home. Here’s what we know about Bernie today:     • 9 years old     • Medium-sized at 45 lbs     • Sweet, affectionate, and loves adult attention     • Enjoys playing with other dogs, but is also happy exploring on his own     • House trained     • Crate trained     • Sleeps through the night     • Very food motivated     • Knows “sit”     • Cats are unknown     • Has not been around children     • Medically stable, but requires ongoing medication for his skin condition     Bernie has already endured pain, uncertainty, and heartbreaking loss. What he deserves now is permanence, comfort, and a family to love him for the rest of his days. If you (or someone you know) has space in your heart and in your home for this precious senior boy, please email us at savingwebsterdogs@gmail.com or complete our adoption application linked here:   https://savingwebsterdogs.godaddysites.com/adopt ##2745272##

Equal parts cuddle bug and brainiac, this girl is as smart as she is snuggly — and trust us, she takes both jobs very seriously.     Pumpernickel Swirl is a certified family favorite:  she adores kids, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and has shown no interest in stirring up drama with cats. Got an active household? Perfect. Pumpernickel Swirl would thrive in a home where adventures are on the daily menu — think backyard zoomies, long walks, and maybe even the occasional dog park outing. After she’s had her fun, she’s more than happy to “loaf” around with her favorite humans and soak up all the love.     Now, every special recipe has its quirks — and Pumpernickel Swirl is no exception. She has some food allergies and requires a special diet along with allergy medication. But don’t worry — she handles her routine like a champ, and in return, you get a happy, healthy pup who will love you endlessly.     If you’re looking for a loyal companion who is equal parts playful, affectionate, and whip-smart, Pumpernickel Swirl might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to rise to the occasion… all she needs now is a home to call her own. So, what do you say — are you ready to add a little Swirl to your world?  Apply today!  Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training.
