If you’re looking for a joyful, affectionate companion who brings both fun and heart to every day, Ernest might just be your perfect match. This energetic, curious, and endlessly playful pup is full of personality and even more full of love.
Ernest thrives on connection. Whether he’s making new dog friends, greeting strangers like old pals, or happily people-watching at a coffee shop, he approaches life with enthusiasm and friendliness. He especially loves playing with other dogs and would happily spend hours running, romping, and socializing. Ernest also has a wonderfully affectionate side - after a good walk or play session, he transforms into a total cuddle bug who just wants to curl up beside you (and maybe sneak in a few kisses, too).
One of the things that makes Ernest truly special is how deeply he bonds with his people. His excitement when seeing familiar faces is pure, heart-melting joy. He’s the kind of dog who will greet you like you’re the best part of his day, every single day.
At home, Ernest is crate trained and does well with structure. He sleeps soundly through the night and settles nicely after he’s had enough exercise. He’s very food motivated and already knows several commands like sit, stay, come, and even high five! With continued consistency, he’s sure to keep impressing.
Ernest would thrive in an active home that can match his zest for life - daily walks, trips to the dog park, or even hikes would make him incredibly happy. He’d love a canine companion who enjoys playtime as much as he does, but he could also do well as a solo dog with plenty of opportunities to socialize. He can live in an apartment or house, as long as his exercise needs are met.
A few of Ernest’s adorable habits? When he’s completely worn out, he does an adorable full-body “Ernie flop,” stretching out in the most dramatic and endearing way. He also loves car rides (often snoozing the whole way), chew toys, and enrichment activities like puzzles and lick mats.
Ernest is still a young pup at heart - full of playfulness, curiosity, and affection - and he’s ready to bring that big, loving spirit into his forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you active, make you laugh, and then snuggle up close at the end of the day, this handsome brindle boy is ready to meet you.
Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family. Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.Foster Program: Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.
