Story

Meet Sharon! This beautiful 2-year-old girl weighs 70 pounds and is ready to find her forever home. Sharon was found as a stray, and when her owner never came forward, she began her search for a family of her own. We think Sharon may be a Plott Hound/Great Pyrenees mix, but one thing we know for sure is that she's 100% lovable! She's house-trained, energetic, and loves playing in the water. She walks well on a leash, and her favorite way to spend the day is exploring walking trails. Sharon would love a home with another active dog, especially a confident canine companion who can help her continue coming out of her shell. She's ready for a family who will enjoy an active lifestyle and give her all the love she deserves! Kids 10+ would do great with Sharon. She's been spayed, microchipped, and made current on vaccines. She tested positive for heartworms and has started the slow-kill treatment, which means no down time or risky side effects for her. Stay tuned for more info and photos as we get to know Sharon! Fee $275, apply online if interested: Adoption Application - Legacy Humane SocietyWe do not have a facility to house the dogs in our program. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in adopting from LHS, please complete an online application at http://legacyhumanesociety.org/adoptfoster/adoption-application/ and we will contact you asap about the status of your application. Story

We rescued Chewy 6 years ago from someone that couldn't care for him due to their health issue. He was about 2 years old when they rescued him from a family with too many dogs. We have no other pets so he is spoiled and is a great companion for us. He loves to be wherever we are and loves our family and friends and people who we invite into our home in general. He is very protective and likes to watch out a front window and will growl or bark when anyone enters our yard or sidewalk. He was house trained and has never had an accident in our home and is left alone occasionaly for up to 6 hours at most. He is an inside dog and not allowed to stay outside. His hair is very short and he doesnt shed. He has never bit or threatened anyone. We are seniors and can no longer care for him due to health issues and so must find a new home for him. He sees a vet regularly and is up to date on all exams and vacines and is in excellent health.

Story

Shadow is a 1.5 year old hunting hound she has a huge story before and after her rescue with a very large following. She loves other dogs and seeks them out. She would do best in a home with another well behaved young active dog. She's been known to run but getting better and she currently wears a tracking device on her collar. She opens up pretty quickly but is very scared and shy without another dog . She was emaciated and on the run when rescued. She is now gaining weight and beautiful. She's spayed, vaccinated, chipped on flea prevention. She's HW positive and started treatment. Please reach out to me personally with any questions regarding Miss Shadow. Jenna Hughes 214-405-4384

Story

I got Misha at Aggieland Humane Society in 2014 as a young pup and she has been faithfully by my side for the last 12 years. She is a faithful loving dog who in her old years loves to lay around and get pets, she loves to use her snout to ask for pets and gets along incredibly well with my 3 children. She is wary of other people but sweet as pie when you get to know her. She is kind and loving to those she trusts.
