Story
HI - I'M LUKE. I'm Luke, a happy 3-year-old Pointer/Boxer mix in need of a forever home. I am losing my home soon because my owner died. I'm currently in the Greater Seattle area. I have beautiful, soulful eyes and a handsome face. I do great with other dogs, and love to fetch balls and bring them back to you. I don't bark much, unless someone barks at me. I walk nicely on a leash, though I'm quite strong, so could use a strong owner. I don't shed much either! I love treats and am an all-around great dog to have around. I was rescued from a California shelter after I became urgent due to lack of space. While there, I was kenneled with another female dog and did great. I've been tested with several dogs and have done well with everyone. I love people and am an easy-going boy. My only fault? I do not like cats, so would do best in a home without them! I weigh about 52 lbs. Can you adopt me?

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Calliope! She is an energetic and playful girl who is ready for her forever home! Calliope is a Pointer/Labrador Retriever mix, she weighs around 60 lbs and is around 2 years old. Calliope is very active, and she will need a family that can keep her properly exercised. Hiking, walks/runs, and a large, securely fenced yard to run would be ideal for her. She is very sweet but can get over excited and will need continuation of basic obedience as well as leash manners and working on not jumping when excited. Because she is large and jumpy, we are recommending no small children as she could accidently knock them over. Calliope is spayed, microchipped and up to date on her vaccinations. Her adoption fee is $450.

Story
NEW FOSTER NEEDED Animal Profile: Harvey is an 12  month old male Pointer/Pit bull mix. His foster in Texas says he is friendly with people, great with the resident dogs and respectful of the cats.  He is very treat motivated, and is doing well with potty training. He's also learned to sit nicely for his treats! Foster Update: Harvey is a sweet, well mannered boy who loves a good snack and can’t wait to play with his toys. He’s getting along great with the resident dog and has great play tendencies with all dogs we’ve seen him play with. He’s a little timid when meeting new people but warms up with a little time and some gentle support. Harvey is potty trained and is very well crate trained (he loves to spend time in his crate!). Harvey is looking for a home with a securely fenced yard and a canine companion. Harvey will need an experienced large breed owner to help teach him boundaries. We are not considering homes with small children at this time.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog is being transferred from our partner DAAG in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care on 1/04/2024. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.October 11, 2024, 7:06 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Oso is a 5 month old Pointer mix (best guess) who joined us from Texas on 10/7. He and his housemate were left behind when his owner was moving so a neighbor took them in and reached out to our TX partner for help. They are friendly with dogs, cats and kids. These puppies are being raised in a foster home with other animals and will be great family pets. Foster Update: Oso is a happy guy with the sweetest personality! And he’s oh so cute! He is doing great with potty training and goes outside in the backyard and on leash during walks. He is doing well in the crate, he barks for a few minutes when you leave the house then settles. He sleeps in his crate at night within sight without a peep! He even knows kennel when you point to it and say “kennel”. Oso loves his foster dog sisters and takes social cues from them very well. One is a small breed and one is large, gets along great with both. He likes to play chase with them and encourages them to run with him when he gets the zoomies! We are working on staying down and off things in the house as he is a curious guy but we can tell he’s already staring to understand. He is smart and will need an owner willing to continue training and have boundaries with him. He loves to be your shadow and is happy as a clam just to be along for the ride! He loves getting all the pets and snuggles you’re willing to give. His nickname is wiggly butt because he has the cutest and happiest little tail wag and dance when greeted. We have loved fostering Oso and we know whoever adopts him will just adore him! we are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard, if you have another playful pup in the home that would be a bonus.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal Profile: Otero is a 5 month old Pointer mix,  (best guess) who will be joining us from Texas on 10/07. He and his housemate were left behind when his owner was moving so a neightbor took them in and reached out to our TX partner for help. They are friendly with dogs, cats and kids. These puppies are being raised in a foster home with other animals and will be great family pets. Foster Update:  Otero is a loving, sweet, well-mannered puppy! He will be your guy to have around if you're looking for a dog who just wants to be by your side. Otero is vocal in his crate, and it takes him about 30-minutes to calm down after listening to some dog calming music - crate training is a work in progress!  Will recommend someone who will devote time to helping him get more comfortable in his safe space. He is exhibiting some signs of being afraid of other people approaching and will benefit from a gradual introduction to humans. Otero is likely to enjoy a home with another dog who is willing to play with him and guide him. He has a lot of puppy energy but listens well when prompted (with lots of treats!) He walks alright on the leash and will continue to work on his leash manners. If you are looking for a dog as your steadfast companion, one who will look deeply into your eyes and just tell you "I love you" with his tenderness, then Otero is your dog!  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Calliopy - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! My name is Calliopy but my friends call me Callie, full of youthful exuberance for life, innocence and curiosity. Ready to crawl right into your heart (won't take me long either!!) and be a part of a home, a family...maybe YOUR family?!! I am still a youngster yet, a big puppy at heart! I have lots of energy and am quite agile. I could be a great candidate for obedience classes and maybe even some fun ones like agility classes. I'm a smart cookie (i know cuz my foster mom tell me so!) and catch on quickly. At around a year and a half and about 45lbs, I'm a pawsomely perfect size for...everything! Neighborhood strolls, nature hikes(aaaah, all those wonderful tantalizing smells), camping, being a co-pilot for errand runs (car rides, one of my most favoritest things!) or trips to the park! You name it, I'm ready to give it a whirl and have a blast too (with whatever it is) just cuz we're doing it together!! And the bestest part is that I'm also small enough that I don't hog the whole couch for my cherished cuddle time!! As my short sleek coat is low maintenance in the grooming department it makes me more of a wash-n-go type of gal. And you do know what that means don't you?!! Oh yep yep, lots of extra time in the 'spoil me rotten' department. And you do know that's what it is all about!! ;) Big on personality, smart and inquisitive, affectionate and sweet, my oh my I have a boatload of great traits going on, oh and don't forget my stunningly gorgeous looks, to make me a great family addition, I just need the family...could it be YOUR family? If we could be that perfect fit please fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org
