We prefer potential adopters to be within 1 hour drive of Claymont DE 19703. Oso (bear in Spanish), was surrendered because his original family could not provide him what he needed. We got “Oh so” and immediately made a vet appointment, we knew he needed to be neutered and dental surgery if his bloodwork was ok, so he was thoroughly checked and good to go. He is a totally different dog after 24 teeth were removed. I don’t think he notices his testies are gone, he is having so much fun chewing on bones, playing with toys and eating with no pain. He has the energy of a 5 year old dog, so not a typical low key senior dog. I would have named him Tigger bc he bounces so much. He just wants to be with his people. If foster mom is sitting, then Oso finds a spot close by to lay down. He loves to go on walks and car rides. He is crate trained too. He gets along with most of the other dogs, except a high energetic one yr old chi that's in everyone’s face. Oso has a very think coat so he will need to be brushed, and he loves it. His bark doesn’t match his size, you would think he was over 50 pounds if you heard his bark behind a closed door. He is very chatty so we will not home him in an apartment or condo. At just 7.5 pounds and 4 years old, Maxo is a darling Pomeranian with a fluffy coat, a happy outlook, and a whole lot of love to give. Found as a stray alongside another dog and brought to ACCT Philly, Maxo's journey has already had a few bumps in the road, but we think this little guy deserves to be judged by who he is today. During his intake at ACCT Philly, Maxo nipped a veterinary staff member while being picked up. The incident resulted in only a minor graze that required no medical treatment. Staff believe the situation may have been influenced by the fact that the female dog he arrived with was in heat while Maxo was still intact. Once the dogs were separated, Maxo settled in and did well with all handling. Since then, Maxo has shown us nothing but his sweet side. At both ACCT Philly and in our care, he has been social, friendly, and easy to handle. Volunteers have had no issues picking him up, cuddling him, carrying him, or showering him with affection. In fact, he's quickly become a favorite thanks to his happy personality and loving nature. Maxo is proof that a single moment does not define a dog. What we've seen is an excellent little companion who enjoys people, welcomes attention, and is ready to leave his stray days behind. He deserves a family willing to see the wonderful dog he truly is and give him the fresh start he's earned. Brownie been jumping from house to house. It's not his fault. His first owner gave him up for unknown reasons. Then his second owner's home burned down. Brownie moves to the beat of his own drum and wants as much attention as he can get. I have had Brownie for about 4 months. He is completely crate trained. He walks around the house with a belly band. He is good with female dogs and cats. He is about 12-15 lbs and had all his shots. He is not picky and hardly play with toys. He loves to jump and play with you. He will let you know when someone is at the door and when he has to go potty. He is a good boy and would love if someone permanently took me in and give me all the love he wants.
