Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue is a registered 501(c)3 Web Site: www.aberdeenstr.com ***MUST SUBMIT APPLICATION before we will respond to email or phone inquiries. Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA & OR, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees they charge the rescue but if the potential adopter wants to pay the fees we will accept PayPal. The oh so beautiful inside & out Manolo whose picture screamed the disgusting neglect he was in, in a death camp of a scary shelter in CA. He was posted looking so very defeated. Yes, it appears at the age of 5 he was going to die which is absolutely unacceptable & disgusting. We rescued this beautiful little lad & his friend Findi from the same home after no one was coming for them. The even sadder part about this is their owner claimed they were strays but it was quickly determined he was not telling the truth. They were going to lose their lives. That day was 1 very sad & joyous day all at the same time. Without his outstanding foster dad, this would not of happened for Manolo. Manolo who is now looking for his very own forever home & who will never give up on him again & dump him & love him just as his foster dad in CA did & we do. After we rescued Manolo he was bought back to WA state from CA where he can’t wait to find him his loving forever home. The absolute insanity to think this baby doll ended up in one of the highest kill shelters in CA is soul destroying. Manolo just wants to be loved. Disturbing to think no one wanted him & he was ready to die. The level of absolute madness here is so deeply sad for many of these beautiful souls out of CA kill shelters. When we first rescued him, he ate multiple bowls of food as if he is making up for lost time. Manolo is a very sweet gentle soul, he is so easy considering what he has endured. Manolo is a very sweet dog & loves his humans once he knows them. Lays with you & can't be happier being petted & touched. He also loves to be with his buddies & just lay with them or do whatever they are doing. We do know that Manolo & Findi are not bonded & he can stress her out. He loves everyone he meets after he knows them & enjoys being cuddled to & given love. He also enjoys snuggling up on the couch & will jump on the couch & spend his day relaxing. We cannot believe someone would be so cruel & neglectful to Manolo. Manolo’s new forever home must have a fully fenced secured backyard for his safety. Manolo has been great with his baths because he started having them with us the moment he was rescued so he is used to them. He has also started getting used to being dried with a hairdryer. He will just let you dry him. Manolo rides beautifully in the car & enjoys a good journey & will sit in his car seat next to you with his dog friends. He also enjoys looking out the window. He still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. We are looking for a forever home for Manolo where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. We are also looking for a crate free home for the little lad only. He was left in a cage in the shelter until we rescued him. Manolo is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Manolo has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered with other dogs in his foster home & does well with them & enjoys their company. We also have tested him in a daycare with other breeds of dogs & does well. Manolo is roughly 5 years old 12.6 lbs & is perhaps a pomeranian mix, what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, neutered by laser by our wonderful vets. Had a dental scale & polish along with dental x-rays. He had several teeth removed, 1 incisor, 1 canine, 2 premolars, 1 molar. He is microchipped, he had his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & being dewormed. Once these shots expire we only redo rabies as we do not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. Manolo is dealing with an allergy & lost parts of his fur but it’s growing back in. He is now on a clean diet of raw fruits, vegetables & supplements. He was given a kibble & believe it was due to that. Manolo has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children. But we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Manolo was conceived so we do not know who his parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Manolo’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Manolo potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Manolo has been through many traumas in his short time on this earth so when applying this needs to be kept in mind & for his care. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Manolo & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Manolo who understands his needs & that meet all the requirements for this spirited little lad. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Manolo has an adoption fee of $995 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.

Story
Quick Facts Name: Mari Age: 3 years old  Gender: Female Neutered/Spayed: Yes Breed: Pomeranian Mix  Color: Light Brown  Weight: 5kg    My PersonalityI’m a sweet and affectionate little girl with a heart full of love. I adore people and am always happy to be close to them. Whether I know you or not, I’ll come right up to you for a little attention. I’m especially affectionate when you’re holding me—if you pick me up, I’ll cuddle right into your arms and might even show you my belly for some extra love!I’m full of energy, and I absolutely love jumping around, especially when I’m excited, like when treats are involved—I’ll even spin in circles! But after some play, I’m more than happy to settle down and enjoy some quiet time next to you.   Social Skills•  With People: I’m a people-lover and enjoy being around my humans. I’m always by your side and love to stay close.]•  With Other Dogs: I’m friendly and social with other dogs, both big and small. I’m not intimidated by bigger dogs and love sharing treats with them.•  With Cats & Birds: I’ve lived with cats before and am used to them, though I do get excited around birds and might try to chase them. But I’m not too persistent.   On My Walks‍I enjoy my walks and follow along nicely, although I can be a little bit of a puller at times. With a little guidance, I’ll get even better! I’m eager to explore, and once I’ve had my exercise, I’m happy to rest and recharge.   My HealthI’m healthy and up to date on my vaccinations, including DHPPI, Corona, and Rabies, all given in May 2024. I’ve also been tested for heartworms, and I’m heartworm negative as of December 28, 2023.   Life at HomeI’m a little bundle of joy that loves to be close to my people. I love staying by your side and will follow you around the house. I jump around excitedly when I see you, especially when I know it’s treat time! I’m a good girl when in my kennel and behave well during car rides, though I might get a bit quiet and calm in there. I like to do my business outdoors, but I’m also comfortable using a pad indoors when needed.   My Ideal HomeI’m looking for a family who will give me the love and attention I crave. I would thrive in a home where I’m surrounded by kind people and maybe even some dog siblings to share my love with. I’m a great little companion for someone who enjoys having a cuddly, happy, and energetic pup by their side.   Special NotesIf you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, and adorable dog to brighten your life, I think I could be your perfect match! I can’t wait to meet my forever family and start a wonderful new adventure together!   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Mari's YouTube Playlist ##2359986##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Riya  Age: 5 years old (born January 2020)  Gender: Female Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Pomeranian   Color: White  Weight: 4.65kg   All About Me Hi, I’m Riya! I’m a five-year-old Pomeranian with a fluffy white coat and a big personality packed into my tiny frame. Weighing 4.65kg (10.2lb), I’m full of love, energy, and charm. I adore people, enjoy making new friends, and love being the center of attention. Now, I’m looking for a forever home where I can be spoiled with love while continuing to learn good manners.   My Personality I am incredibly affectionate and love meeting new people. Whether I’ve known you forever or we’ve just met, I’ll happily trot over, lean in for pets, and even roll over to show my belly. I enjoy being held and will gladly snuggle into your arms. I haven’t had much experience with young children, but since I love attention, I’d likely enjoy their company with proper introductions. I am a true lap dog and crave human companionship. I love being close to my people and can get anxious when left alone for too long, so I need a family who understands that I may need time and training to feel comfortable when separated.   Social Skills I get along well with other dogs just as much as I do with people. I enjoy greeting other dogs and playing with them. However, when it comes to food, I prefer to eat alone. In a household with multiple dogs, it's best to feed me separately. I also get along very well with cats.   Energy and Activities I have a moderate energy level—I love outdoor activities, but once I’ve had my fun, I’m happy to relax and rest. I enjoy my walks and like to explore, though I do pull on the leash sometimes when I’m excited. A little leash training will help me improve my walking manners. I have an impressive ability to jump, so my new home should have high gates or barriers to keep me safe.   Training and Habits I enjoy both dry and wet food, as well as treats like chicken and sweet potatoes. I don’t have any allergies or restrictions when it comes to food, and I eat just about anything happily. When I'm with people, I'm mostly quiet and calm, with little to no barking. I love peaceful indoor living and am very content in a quiet home. Outside, I don’t bark at other dogs or cars, and I’m quite well-mannered. I have a curious nature and enjoy sniffing around, sometimes pulling a bit on the leash, but I always behave politely. If other dogs approach too quickly, I take a step back because I prefer peace and avoid conflict. At home, I use pee pads, but I really enjoy going potty outside. Loud noises might startle me, but I recover quickly. I love lying on the couch with my people and enjoy resting together. I’m very affectionate and love being petted. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion with a gentle nature, I could be the perfect fit for your home!   My Ideal Home I would thrive in a home where I receive plenty of attention and love. I’m happiest when I’m with my family all the time. A household with another friendly dog could be a good fit for me, but structured mealtimes and supervision will be important for peaceful coexistence. I get along very well with both cats and children. However, my favorite moments are spent with people. If you're looking for a loving, loyal companion, I could be the perfect addition to your home!   Special Notes I’m a sweet, affectionate, and lively companion who absolutely loves being around people. I thrive on attention and enjoy spending time with my family, whether it’s cuddling on the couch or playing together. If you're looking for a lap dog who will shower you with love and be your loyal companion, I could be the perfect fit for you. I truly believe that I could be a wonderful addition to a home where I will be cherished and given the care I need. If you're ready to open your heart and home to me, I’m excited to be your forever companion!   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here! Watch Riya's video ##2357613##

Story
Quick Facts Name: Pporami Age: 4 years old (born January 2021)  Gender: Female Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Pomeranian   Color: White & Beige Weight: 4.2kg   My Personality Hello, future family! I’m Pporami, a small but mighty bundle of love and sweetness. At first, I can be a little shy, but give me just a moment, and I’ll be snuggling up to you in no time! I love to be close to my humans—just knowing you’re nearby makes my little heart feel safe and warm. If you pick me up, I’ll happily settle into your arms and enjoy every second of it. I’m a gentle and affectionate girl who enjoys both quiet moments and fun adventures. I may not always be the first to approach new friends, but once I feel comfortable, I’ll follow you around like your tiny, devoted shadow.   My Social Life •   With People: I love my humans and feel most at ease when they’re around. I might whimper a little when you leave, but as long as I know you’ll be back, I’ll be okay. I warm up quickly and love gentle pets and snuggles. •   With Other Dogs: I’m polite and friendly when meeting other dogs, though I prefer to observe rather than jump into play. I don’t mind sharing my space and get along well with my furry friends. •   With Cats: I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them!   On My Walks I’m a wonderful little walking buddy! I don’t pull on my leash and love to walk right beside my human. Exploring the world outside is exciting, but I also know how to stay calm and enjoy the moment. Whether it’s a short stroll or a longer adventure, I’m happy just being with you.   Life at Home I’m a well-mannered girl who loves spending time with my humans. I feel safest when I can see you nearby—your presence makes me feel calm and secure. When riding in a car, I prefer to be held in loving arms rather than in a kennel. I might make a few little noises if I’m alone in my crate, but with time and patience, I’ll learn that it’s a cozy and safe space for me. I’m a good eater and never cause any trouble with my furry friends. I’m a true little angel who simply wants to be loved and cherished!   My Ideal Home I’m looking for a loving family who will adore me just as much as I’ll adore them! My perfect home would have: •   A Caring Companion: I love being close to my humans, so a family that enjoys snuggling and spending time together would be wonderful for me. •   Patience & Understanding: I may need a little time to fully open up, but once I do, I’ll be your most loyal and affectionate friend. •   A Gentle Routine: Whether it’s quiet evenings on the couch or peaceful walks in the park, I thrive in a calm and loving environment.   Special Notes If you’re looking for a tiny, sweet, and loving companion to brighten your days, I might just be the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find my forever home and share all the love I have to give!   For More YouTube Clips, Click Here!Pporami's YouTube Playlist ##2311599##

Story
----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
