Story
Meet Buff! If you're looking for a puppy with a heart as big as his ears, Buff is your guy! This adorable 4-month-old pug/Cattle Dog mix may have had a rough and unknown start to life, but you'd never know it from the way he loves everyone he meets. Dogs? Best friends. People? Future cuddle buddies. Buff is the perfect mix of playful and snuggly. He's always up for an adventure, chasing his favorite squeaky toy, or practicing his fetch skills. When playtime is over, you'll usually find him curled up in his cozy little dog bed, happily snoozing away. Buff came to us with some skin issues, but he's healing wonderfully and his beautiful coat is coming back more every day. Like any young puppy, he's still working on potty training and is making great progress with just a few accidents here and there. He also prefers not to be left alone, but he's learning that his people always come back. Buff is sweet, affectionate, and full of puppy charm. He's ready to leave his past behind and start the best chapter of his life with a family who will love him as much as he'll love them. Apply today—this little cuddle bug is ready to steal your heart! LOLA'S Rescue Buff has some hair loss on his face from living as a stray puppy in Carlsbad, New Mexico so he is ready for some TLC as his little little patches grow back in! ##2775414##

Story
Meet Scruff! Yes... he really is that cute! This 4-month-old Pug/Cattle Dog mix is the perfect combination of goofy, playful, and downright adorable. Scruff is the definition of a happy puppy. He loves to play, explore, make new friends, and then happily flop over for a nap after all the excitement. His joyful personality is contagious, and he approaches every day like it's the best day ever. His foster says he's an absolute delight and jokes that he should really be named "Puddles" because he's such a total mushball. This sweet boy melts into your lap for cuddles just as easily as he zooms around the yard chasing toys. He's equal parts playful adventurer and snuggly sweetheart, making him the best of both worlds. If you're looking for a fun-loving companion who will keep you laughing, shower you with puppy kisses, and happily curl up beside you at the end of the day, Scruff is ready to wiggle his way right into your heart! Scruff is somewhat of mystery breed pup who arrives on 7/15 and will need a foster home before being ready to be adopted! Fosters get the first opportunity to adopt their foster dogs, so if you are interested in Scruff - please apply to foster today!  ##2775410##

Meet Rex!  Rex is the total package! He's incredibly sweet, loves people, and is fantastic with kids. He met a young child yesterday and immediately rolled over for belly rubs, winning everyone over in seconds. He's been an excellent guest while in our care—keeping his kennel completely clean and getting along wonderfully with other dogs. If we could keep him as our clinic therapy dog, we absolutely would!  He has the sweetest personality and brings smiles everywhere he goes. Simply put, Rex is one of the most perfect, cutest little pups we've had the pleasure of meeting. He has so much love to give and is ready to find the forever family he deserves. Rex will be available to meet beginning 7/31 ##2796287##

Story
What would a life with Oliver look like?  Considering adopting Oliver is a commitment to such a deserving boy who, despite his past, refuses to let that stop him. It’s also a commitment to yourself to meet him where he is at and watch him grow. It’s honestly one of the most rewarding experiences I have had and an honor to earn his trust little by little. This gremlin is brave, eager to please, goofy, soulful, stubborn, smart, and such a joyful presence to have around.    A day in the life of Oliver   5-8am ish: wake up, wake up foster mom with foster siblings, give kisses and exaggerated butt wiggles, make gremlin noises, and bed wrestle with foster siblings. Outside to potty (I’ll use the dog door if I have one), play, and wait patiently for breakfast while my foster mom gets ready for work. Breakfast in my slow feeder, outside again before my foster mom leaves for work, and bound in to my kennel to wait for the yummy chew I get.    Weekday 8am-4:30pm: hard chill time because apparently someone has to work around here.    4:30-5pm: exaggerated butt wiggles, gremlin noises because I’m so excited to see my foster mom, and straight outside to potty. Business first. Dinner, most important.    5pm-10pm: Training exercises for 15-20 minutes! I am working on so many things and I absolutely love my training! Sit, free, place, readyyyy…..catch, leave it/impulse control, look, find it, touch, repetition of getting my harness and collar on, building confidence, and learning what kind of play feels good with a human (I’m an expert at playing with dogs).    On weekends I love to participate in the yard work, sun bathe, play with my dog friends, join on walks (a little bit of a process right now but I’m doing great!), play with toys, chew on bones, and try out new enrichment activities.    *Getting in the car: right now I have to go into my kennel and be carried to the car but it’s something we are working on in training.    *Getting harness/collar/leash on: this also has to be done in my kennel because that’s still too close for my comfort but also necessary so.    *Petting: Oliver’s life before rescue is a mystery but I have a suspicion that humans were not very nice to him. As humans we want nothing more to pet a dog, with Oliver that is going to take a lot of time for him to trust touch. He has made strides but he prefers treats from humans versus petting. Understanding this about him and not letting it stop you from witnessing the amazing things Oliver is capable of is so important for his new home. He may or may not ever come around to it and that has to be okay.    Oliver’s musts in his forever home:  Another playful dog. It’s required, he thrives with a canine companion.  Someone who can see through his quirky tendencies and into the soul of a dog who continues to show up and try.  Willing to continue his training, I will make sure you have everything you need.  Someone who will have his back and advocate for him. Think: please don’t reach for him, he doesn’t want to be pet. Here feed him this treat, he loves food.  Oliver’s adoption fee has been sponsored and we are looking for the right home for him.  Please fill out an application so the rescue is aware of your interest and a meet and greet can be arranged. He sometimes goes to adoption events but not always.    Oliver is so deserving of his forever home and anyone who has met him can feel just how hard he is trying.  ##2605241##
