Story
Meet Daisy! Daisy is a 17 pound, 8 year old pug who is super lovable and looking for her furever home! Her fosters are working with her on pad training and she is learning very quickly. She warms up to new people fast and is dog friendly. Her energy level is medium and she enjoys cuddling and a good nap but has the occasional zoomies. A total sweet heart who enjoys attention and is looking for a home where she can get all the love and affection she deserves! She is also an explorer and likes to see what’s around and will be your shadow and follow you around your home. Daisy is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY and her adoption fee is $600. Daisy is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Mabeline! This little Pug is a 6-year-old female who currently weighs 16.5 pounds. Mabeline is a true cuddle bug who loves being close to her people and gets along with every dog she meets. She is not very vocal, but you can always locate her when she’s asleep thanks to the impressive volume of her snores. While she cannot be bothered with furry fashion trends, she is slowly getting used to wearing her harness. She enjoys spending time outdoors, but leash walking is still a work in progress, so she would do best in a home with access to a fenced-in yard. Housebreaking is also ongoing. She does give clear signals when she needs to go out, either by scratching at a vertical surface or lifting her leg. When Mabeline first arrived, she showed little interest in food or treats, but now she waits excitedly anytime the refrigerator opens. She is an absolute doll and would make a wonderful addition to a home that can provide plenty of cuddles and, of course, snacks. Mabeline is currently being fostered in Wayne, NJ. Her adoption fee is $600. Mabel is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. Story
Meet Aretha! I’m a very sweet 6-year-old Puggle/Chihuahua gal with a beautiful face that puts a smile on your face , and I have soft black-and-tan coat. At just 18 pounds, I’m the perfect size—small enough to snuggle but cute enough to strut with style! I’m thriving in a loving foster home and enjoy spending time with my foster siblings, but I’d be just as happy as your one-and-only, soaking up all your attention. I walk nicely on a leash and love going out in the city to say hello to everyone I meet. I’ve been fully vetted, spayed, and am up to date on all my vaccinations. All I need now is a forever home where I can keep blossoming and share all the love I have to give. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion who’s ready to love and be loved, I might just be your girl. Apply to adopt me here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/POSH/Dog

Story
Meet our super sweet and gentle 5-year-old pug girl. She’s shy and still learning the world, but gaining confidence and trust in humans every day. She’s a bit weary of the busy NYC streets and not yet fully leash-trained, so for now she feels safest inside. House training is a work in progress—she has occasional accidents and hasn’t mastered potty pads—but she’s tidy and never destructive! She is friendly with other dogs, and would likely do well in a home with another dog who can teach her the go around. She relaxes best in her crate (dim lights + soft music = bliss), and once she feels safe there, she’ll happily accept gentle pets. She eats and drinks well, sleeps through the night, and her curiosity about toys shows a playful spark. She needs a calm, patient home that celebrates small wins. If you love helping dogs blossom, she’ll be your little soulmate and she loves some cheese! 3 Keywords for your pup: Sweet, shy, curious!Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 6Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: Occasional barkerWalking Manners: She needs patience learning how to walk on a leash. Appetite: Great!Favorite Things: Sleeping in a comfy crate  ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States and Korea. ##2487032##

Story
Meet Rita! Rita is a 4-year-old, 14-lb female pug mix who made the journey all the way from California and is now learning the ropes of life in New York City. This sweet girl is equal parts playful and snuggly. Rita loves a good game of fetch, enjoys her walks around the neighborhood, and is always happy to curl up for some quality cuddle time with her people. When she’s relaxing at home, you’ll often find her cozied up with her favorite toy turtle. Rita is a smart pup who is already picking up on basic commands like “sit” and continuing to work on her obedience skills. She’s also quickly gotten the hang of walking on a leash and does best using a well-fitting harness while exploring the outdoors. Rita is still working on her house-training. Her foster family has been helping her learn with a consistent schedule and frequent walks, and her forever family will need to continue supporting her as she builds this routine. She’s a very affectionate dog who bonds closely with her people and would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time. Rita can experience a bit of separation anxiety when left alone—she may cry, but she isn’t destructive. A lick mat with peanut butter helps keep her happily occupied if she needs to spend some time by herself. Rita would do best in a quieter home environment where she can enjoy both her playful moments and her downtime. She transitions easily from energetic games of fetch to peaceful snuggle sessions on the couch. Rita does well with other dogs and would likely enjoy having a canine companion. She has not yet been tested with cats. Because she appreciates a calmer environment, we recommend a home with older children. If you’re looking for a loving, playful companion who will happily alternate between fetch and couch cuddles, Rita may just be your perfect match. Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, and bordetella, heartworm negative, microchipped and spayed. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Rita, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2670665##
