Meet Henry! This handsome little puggle is about 2 years old and weighs 22 pounds. He’s energetic, playful, and always ready for fun! Henry LOVES people and is so enthusiastic about greeting everyone he meets. He’s a happy guy with a big heart and a joyful spirit. Henry came to us after fathering his last litter (don’t worry—mama and babies are safe with us and doing great, and Henry is now scheduled to be neutered so his puppy-making days are officially behind him!). Now it’s his turn to be the one cared for, loved, and cherished. Henry would do great with a family who can match his playful energy, give him attention, and include him in their daily lives. He’s ready to start his new chapter and can’t wait to find his forever people!

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Midge! Midge is a 2-year-old, 11 lb Pug who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter. She’s a true mini pug with a huge personality packed into her tiny frame! Spunky, goofy, quirky, and endlessly entertaining ~ Midge is the kind of dog who keeps you smiling! She’s an outgoing little oddball in the best way and absolutely full of charm. Whether she’s trotting along on a walk, bouncing around with dog friends, or cuddled up in your arms, she’s happiest when she’s with her people. Midge is very sweet and affectionate and loves to be held and doted on by her person. She’s also great with other dogs and great with people, making her an easy and joyful companion. Playful and social, she enjoys getting out for walks and little adventures but is just as content soaking up attention and cuddles at home. Because Midge is a flat-faced breed, she will do best in a home with brachycephalic (flat-faced) breed experience or adopters who understand her specific needs, including monitoring exercise, temperature, and overall health. If you’ve been dreaming of a tiny pug with a big heart and a hilarious personality, Midge might just be your perfect match. She’s ready to be someone’s constant companion and bring a whole lot of love (and laughs) into her forever home. Midge is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Bandit, a handsome young pug with an adventurous streak and a heart full of love! Born around May 14, 2024, this sweet 18.4-pound boy was found exploring a local subdivision, charming multiple neighbors along the way. While everyone wanted to help the little runaway, Bandit proved himself to be quite the escape artist, cleverly digging out of various yards in his determined quest to find the action! Bandit is a true social butterfly. His main goal in life is to be right where the people are. When he gets loose, he doesn't run away; he rushes towards companionship! He is looking for a secure yard and a family who will give him plenty of attention and keep him close by, satisfying his deep desire to be part of the pack. Bandit has been fully vetted and is now receiving treatment for anaplasmosis, a common tick-borne disease discovered during his initial exam. He is doing great and just needs to complete his 30-day course of medication. He's on the mend and ready for his fresh start. This resilient, people-loving pug is eager to trade his days of solo adventures for a lifetime of cozy cuddles and family fun. If you’re looking for a loyal, friendly companion who promises to keep you entertained and loved, Bandit is eagerly waiting to steal your heart! You can apply for Bandit at www.adoggie4you.org.  His adoption fee is $350.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations. Story
Cadillac is a pug puppy. She has a lot of energy, likes to lick, is playful, adapts really quickly if you have other dogs, making progress on potty training. She sleeps through the night and has her own bed. She goes outside the front door in the grass specially in the mornings when waking up and after each meal in the hopes that she’ll learn to potty outside. She has normal pup behavior. She’s good with other dogs and with children. She is food motivated. She is a good addition to the household, and pugs required a lot of love.
-----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

These pups are in Bothell, Washington too!

Story
Please meet Forrest! This sweet pup is estimated to be about 10 months old. At a young age, he was abandoned in a park. We don’t know what happened to his mom or if he and his brother were the only ones to survive, but Forrest is resilient with a heart full of joy. Forrest is a happy and playful boy who’s adjusting well to life in a home. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people. He lives in a foster home with cats but he gets very excited wanting to play when he sees them so he accidentally scares the cats. While he’s gentle and kind, we recommend a home with older kids, as his youthful energy might accidentally knock over toddlers. He's a big wiggle-butt, a very happy boy! Forrest would thrive with a family who can help him with leash training and shower him with the love and attention he deserves. Are you ready to give Forrest the forever home he’s been waiting for? We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note: adoption fee is in US dollars.) There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry!

Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 2 1/2 year old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable under bite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner who's able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. Her absolute favorite joy in life is Ball! She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $400, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Medical Notes: Penny has had one TPLO repaired in Spring 2025 and fully recovered, before tearing her other CCL in Fall 2025. We will do another TPLO for her with adoption interest.  Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  December 21, 2025, 11:30 am

Story
Animal Profile: Meet Apple! Apple is a 8 month old Boston Terrier (maybe Pug??) mix. She and her siblings were brought to the shelter and dropped off in a cardboard box. Our rescue partner, Saving Shelter Strays, reached out to us for help. Foster Update: Apple is a "smedium" sized pup (25lbs) with a big personality!   Immediately after arriving from Texas, she was zooming around the yard with our dog and then crashed out with cute puppy snores. Apple is a smart, curious, goofy, high-energy gal who loves toys, fetch, zoomies, and playing with other dogs who can match her energy. She is doing great with potty training and does well riding in the car in her crate. She is still working on her leash manners, but doesn't pull on leash, she just is learning to walk in a straight line. Apple loves treats and is really food motivated, which makes training fun! Apple is looking for an active home, with or without another dog. If there is another dog in the home, Apple is a match for high energy playful dogs or dogs who will set appropriate boundaries (she is probably too much for submissive dogs who aren't very playful). She will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard to get her zoomies out. Apple is a great candidate for adopters who are looking for a dog to go on long walks, jogs, hikes, do agility, or other athletic things! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Saving Shelter Strays in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Birdie Express Transport arriving on 08/08. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.January 10, 2026, 1:32 pm
