Story
Animal Profile: Meet Lunch! Lunch is a 4 month old, 10 lb Pug mix. Lunch and his siblings were brought to the shelter and dropped off in a cardboard box. Our  rescue partner, Saving Shelter Strays reached out to us for help. Foster Update: Lunch is a confident lad with an adventurous, energetic nature that knows no bounds. He may even be too confident, and will likely continue to meet with natural consequences like gravity and solid walls with enthusiasm. This Lunch-able boy is the fastest curly-tailed toe-chomper in the neighborhood, and has been doing great on pack-walks, sleeping through the night and making good progress at potty training. We think that his ideal family would be able to provide lots of playtime and exercise, as well as training and structure to help Lunch become the best Boy. He has done well with kids and the cat, but is a little more rambunctious than those creatures may like. He is also excellent at climbing and jumping, and will need a securely fenced yard if loose. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Apply Online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued in partnership with Saving Shelter Strays in Texas and arriving to Seattle area foster care via Birdie Express Transport arriving on 08/08. This dog will be fostered in the greater Seattle area and available for adoption once evaluated.September 14, 2025, 9:41 pm

Story
Animal Profile: Dobby is a 3 year old neutered male pug mix. He is great with dogs, cats and kids. Dobby loves to snuggle and is potty trained. He arrived in Seattle from California on 6/22/2025. Foster Update: Dobby is such a good dog! He loves to cuddle and give kisses, is completely potty trained, and is doing better and better in his crate, although it’s a work in progress. (He’d much rather be out with me.) He’s totally fine with my cat – he just ignores him – and has started to play and have zoomies with my resident goldendoodle, who is a bigger dog. He does well on leash, with minimal pulling, although he can get startled on walks if there is a loud noise. Following my confident dog’s lead seems to help him, and I think he would thrive in a household with a confident resident dog. He doesn’t know many commands yet, but he appears to know his name pretty well and is learning the “off” command for when he gets jumpy, anticipating getting to go outside. Dobby isn’t very playful with me (I’m not sure he knows how to play with a person!), although he’ll play with my dog. When it comes to me, he much prefers to just sit next to me, or on my lap. I've had some visitors come over and Dobby is shy at first but then he opens up if the visitors are calm and he sees the resident dog being friendly to them. In my opinion, he is well suited for an apartment. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Our  rescue partner, Saving Shelter Strays reached ou to us for help. She is ready for her bus ride to WA! Foster Update:  Snacks is a playful, loving puppy whose RBF does not match her sweet personality. She is friendly,  outgoing, and  confident in most situations. She loves to play with her stuffy, tug toys, balls and her chew bone. She is besties with my resident dog (see the videos). For a puppy she is calm and well behaved when she is not ripping and running. She sleeps through the night in her crate with no accidents. She is learning her leash manners fast and she is working on being a good girl with housetraining. She is quick to learn. As a bonus, she has adorable little howls! Arroooooo! This cute RBF girlie would love an active home with another playful canine companion. She would do best in a home with a fenced yard to run around and burn up some of that energy.     Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575, which includes spay/neuter, current vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip, negative heartworm test if over 6 months, and health certificate. Your donation may be tax deductible as DG is a 501c3 organization. Story
Meet Lumi! 🤍 Hi, my name is Lumi! I’m 8 months old and the biggest of my litter at 13.2 pounds. My siblings and I came to Charming Pet Rescue after our purebred pug mama had a surprise litter with a roaming dog. Our original owners had hoped to sell us, but since we didn’t look “pug enough,” they gave us up. Lucky for us, that means we now have beautiful names, sparkling collars, and the best care we could ask for! I recently had my very first bath and nail trim—can’t say I loved the process, but I do love how clean and fresh I feel now. ✨ I’m a little shy, just like my brother and sisters, since we didn’t get much people-time when we were younger. But I’m already learning that being picked up and cuddled is actually pretty nice. With patience and love, I know I’ll blossom into a confident, affectionate girl. I may be the “big sister” of the group, but I’m still just a little pup looking for my forever family. Could that be you? 🐾🤍 *Not available for transport out of state. Must be adopted locally to the San Antonio, TX area.

Meet Zephyr! 💙 Hi, my name is Zephyr! I’m 8 months old and weigh just 9.2 pounds. I’m the only boy in my litter, and I came to Charming Pet Rescue with my sisters after our purebred pug mama had a surprise litter with a roaming dog. Our original owners had hoped to sell us, but since we didn’t look “pug enough,” they gave us up. Honestly, that was the best thing that could have happened—now I’ve got a cool name, a comfy collar, and all the love and care I’ve been missing. I even had my very first bath and nail trim! (Not gonna lie, I wasn’t thrilled about it, but I sure do look and feel handsome now! ✨) Like my sisters, I can be a little shy at first. I didn’t get much people-time when I was younger, but I’m quickly learning that cuddles and affection are actually pretty great. I just need a patient, loving home to help me grow into the happy, confident boy I’m meant to be. Could you be the one to give this little guy his forever home? 🐾💙 *Not available for transport out of state. Must be adopted locally to the San Antonio, TX area.

Meet Junia! 💜 Hi, my name is Junia! I’m 8 months old and weigh just under 13 pounds. My siblings and I came to Charming Pet Rescue after our purebred pug mama had a surprise litter with a roaming dog. Our original owners had hoped to sell us, but since we didn’t look “pug enough,” they gave us up. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because now I have a beautiful name, a sparkly purple collar, and I just had the best spa day with a bath and nail trim! (Can’t say I loved it, but it sure feels good to be clean! ✨) I’m a little on the shy side, since I didn’t get much socialization with people when I was younger. But I’m learning fast that being picked up is actually nice, and people just want to love me! With a little patience and gentle encouragement, I’ll blossom into the sweet, confident girl I’m meant to be. Could you be the one to show me how wonderful life in a forever home can be? 🐾💜 *Not available for transport out of state. Must be adopted locally to the San Antonio, TX area.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Dodger! This 3-year-old, 25 LB Pug came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA, and we honestly can’t believe no one came looking for him—he’s that amazing. Dodger is the total package: sweet, loving, and absolutely charming. He’s a true people-dog who loves to walk close to his person, explore the world by your side, and soak up all the affection you can give. He takes treats gently, is treat-motivated (which makes training a breeze), and walks great on leash. Confident and adventurous, Dodger has done great with other dogs and would be happy with a canine companion—or as your one-and-only, as long as you keep him well-socialized. He hasn’t been tested with cats or children yet, but his gentle, friendly nature makes us think he’ll fit right into the right home. He’s also working on shedding a few pounds, so an adopter who can help him stay active and healthy will be his perfect match. In return, Dodger promises to be your loyal sidekick and adventure buddy! If you’re looking for a sweet, confident pup to adore—and be adored by—Dodger’s your guy. Dodger is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Please meet Forrest! This sweet pup is estimated to be about 10 months old. At a young age, he was abandoned in a park. We don’t know what happened to his mom or if he and his brother were the only ones to survive, but Forrest is resilient with a heart full of joy. Forrest is a happy and playful boy who’s adjusting well to life in a home. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and people. He lives in a foster home with cats but he gets very excited wanting to play when he sees them so he accidentally scares the cats. While he’s gentle and kind, we recommend a home with older kids, as his youthful energy might accidentally knock over toddlers. He's a big wiggle-butt, a very happy boy! Forrest would thrive with a family who can help him with leash training and shower him with the love and attention he deserves. Are you ready to give Forrest the forever home he’s been waiting for? We can drive this pup to your area! If you like this cutie please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note: adoption fee is in US dollars.) There is NO transport fee, or any extra fees. All is included in the adoption fee. Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry!

Story
Animal Profile:  Penny is a 2 1/2 year old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable under bite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner who's able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality.  Adopter Profile:  Single family residence required Secure fenced yard preferred Large breed experience required Bully breed experience preferred Other balanced dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older children considered on case by case basis Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550, which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, flea/tick treatment, deworming, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal History:  Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was  DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are  75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue. She has since been evaluated and fostered in a DGS foster home. She is currently available for adoption to the greater Seattle area.  September 13, 2025, 12:28 am
