Story
Timon…If Pugs starred in the Lion King Timon is a young adult male pug with a glossy black coat. He does the best head tilts, as if he understands what is being said to him and is considering his response. Actually, he is more likely wondering how to scheme getting picked up for cuddles or how to convince you that he is starving - in danger of fading away into nothingness before your very eyes. Or…there is nothing but air behind his engaging brown eyes. 🤣 Despite his protests, Timon is chonky & needs to continue his weight loss journey for optimal health. This won’t be too difficult as, like most pugs, he is quite playful, active, a clown, liking toys, dogs, cats, people of all ages & sizes and FOOD! He will do almost anything to earn a tasty tidbit! Timon is crate trained & housebroken with a doggy door. He has seldom had an indoor potty “accident”. Although Timon came to the rescue with his BFF, Pumba, he would be fine as a solo dog, given lots of attention. (Such a hardship!) Pugs make great family dogs & will thrive in an apartment or house. Are you ready to make Timon part of your family? Attributes: Housebroken with doggy door Active Local adoption fee is $400(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $700 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Pumba….if pugs started in The Lion King😂 This young adult male fawn-colored pug strides with confidence & fortunately doesn’t share the storybook Pumba’s gassy issue! He is on the large & tall side for pugs (although he has slimmed down since arriving at his foster mom’s home). He has striking markings around his eyes that would make any eye-liner applying gal jealous. His forehead is a mass of wrinkles adding to his good looks & charm. Pumba’s personality is 100% pug. Happy, active, goofy, clingy, food obsessed, always up for a good time. He gets along with all living creatures of the 4- & 2- legged variety: dogs, cats, people of all ages. Although he came to the rescue with his BFF Timon, he would be just as pleased to be a solo dog. Pugs make great family dogs & thrive in house or apartment settings. Attributes: Doggy door trained. Seldom has indoor potty accidents”accidents” Active Local adoption fee is $400(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $700 (includes transport to your area)

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Gus – Your New Best Friend!  Gus is a lovable Pug mix with a heart as sweet as they come. Through no fault of his own, he found himself owner surrendered to a shelter, but he's ready to leave that chapter behind and find the forever family he deserves. Gus can be unsure of meeting new people at first, and may be a little shy and territorial. Once he knows you, he will be your best friend for life. He will welcome you with kisses, happy jumps, lots of tail wags.  When Gus was owner surrendered, we were told that he is potty trained and does know how to use a bell to alert when needing to use the bathroom. He is also not much of a barker, gets along great with dogs, rides well in a car, and walks well on leash.  Gus is neutered, 4DX negative, microchipped, current on all vaccinations, and protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto.  His adoption fee is $400. To apply to adopt Gus, visit www.adoggie4you.org. Gus is currently located in Texas but can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), and locations along the East Coast for an additional $250 transport fee. Please note that transport is not available to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.September 7, 2026, 5:46 pm

Story
Meet Lilly 💕 Lilly is a 5-year-old, 15 lb, Pug and an absolute force of nature—a little wrecking ball of excitement, kisses, and pure personality! This spunky girl brings fun wherever she goes and has never met an adventure she didn’t want to investigate. L Lilly ily may have an injured eye, but don’t let that slow her down. It hasn’t dampened her adventurous spirit one bit—and apparently, it hasn’t stopped the resident boy dogs in her foster home from developing a massive crush on this irresistible girl either! Smart, determined, and endlessly entertaining, Lily is always ready to take on her next challenge. She takes her slow feeder bowl very seriously and is determined to prove who’s boss. When she’s not busy conquering dinner, she loves nothing more than wrestling with her foster brother and getting her zoomies out. Lilly is crate trained and potty trained, and she loves going for walks. She currently lives happily with four other dogs of various sizes as well as a cat, so she’s accustomed to a busy, multi-pet household. At the end of the day, though, Lily isn’t just a bundle of energy—she’s also a spunky, cuddly sweetheart who loves being part of the action and sharing affection with her people. Lilly would thrive with a family who will embrace her adventurous spirit, appreciate her hilarious personality, and give her plenty of opportunities to play, explore, cuddle, and be her wonderfully exuberant self. Lilly is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $550.

Story
**Hazel, a small mixed-breed female ** Hazel and her daughter Lily were taken out of a crowded shelter so that they would not be put down. Hazel is a mixed breed, and we believe that mix containes Boston terrier, dachshund and Jack Russell. The two girls had arrived in a weak and very tired condition due to the traumas they had gone through. Hazel is about three years old and, although her early life has been difficult, she enjoys attention and being loved. While Hazel has shown remarkable resilience, she can sometimes be cautious in new situations and may need a little extra reassurance at first. She is lively while remaining calm. She is intelligent and would like to know what you are saying to her. Hazel is a dog who would readily learn to use talking buttons and frequently communicate with you. She enjoys being spoken to and listens carefully, as if she understands every word. With patience, she performs well and is eager to learn. Hazel also has a fondness for her squeaky toys. Since she has a strong prey drive, she should live in a home without cats or small animals.                                           Hazel is able to walk on a lead and picks up the trick quickly. Hazel would do best as the only dog in the home or with her daughter Lily, whom she absolutely adores. She may be cautious with unfamiliar dogs due to her past experiences. She is gentle and affectionate with people and is suitable for homes with older children who respect her space. Hazel is a cuddly dog and enjoys going under the blankets to be near you at night. It's likely that someone once loved her, since she is social, well-behaved, and affectionate toward people. Because Hazel has been attacked by dogs in the past, she is careful about whom she befriends. When meeting unfamiliar dogs, Hazel can be cautious and may initially keep her distance. She appreciates slow, gentle introductions and tends to do best with calm dogs who respect her space. Over time and with patience, she can warm up and feel more comfortable around friendly dogs. Hazel loves her daughter Lily. If you are looking for two dogs, they get along very well together. Hazel's adoption fee is $450.00. They have a bonded pair adoption fee of only $595.00 to encourage an adopter to keep the girls together. She has had her vaccinations up to date, is fed human-grade dog food appropriate for dogs, and is in good health. Hazel is scheduled to be spayed before she goes to her new home, and we will ensure the appointment is completed as part of the adoption process. If you would like to adopt this nice girl, please complete an application on our website at www.smallpupsrescue.org. Once we receive your application, a member of our staff will contact you within 2-3 days to discuss Hazel and answer any questions you may have. Next, we will arrange a virtual or face-to-face home visit within a week to ensure it is a good match for both you and Hazel. After a successful home visit, we will notify you within 2 days so you can move forward with the adoption. At this stage, we will help you complete the final paperwork and arrange a convenient day for Hazel to join your family, usually within a week of approval. Our goal is to make the process smooth and supportive, typically taking between 1-2 weeks from application to adoption. Thank you for considering giving Hazel a loving home.
