Devon: a story of escape from neglect to healed, loved, & pampered Devon’s tale is one of determination to escape adversity to heal & move forward. This petite 9 yo F pug escaped from a backyard breeder who was, quite literally, breeding her to death. She was skinny, malnourished & had other medical issues that were addressed surgically. Since arriving at her foster “mom’s” home, she has known nothing but unconditional love & acceptance. Devon rapidly put on weight, healed from her surgeries, & blossomed into the absolute sweetest of pugs. She is happy & playful. Devon loves cuddles, snuggling with people or other dogs, even cats (if they will let her). She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. This compact gal is a stunning example of what rescue is all about. Now all Devon needs is her forever home for the fairy tale ending she so richly deserves. Attributes: 90% housebroken with doggy door. Goes on newspaper or puppy pads indoors Fantastic personality Local adoption fee is $400(in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $700 (includes transport to your area)

Pedro’s life changed through no fault of his own when his family was deported back to Mexico, leaving him in need of a new place to call home. It’s heartbreaking when circumstances beyond anyone’s control separate a family, and now this sweet boy is hoping for a second chance with a family who will love him forever. Pedro is a fun, happy, loving, and gentle boy who has so much affection to give. He loves sharing hugs and kisses with his people, lounging around and enjoying the simple things in life, or heading out for a nice walk. He isn’t an overly active guy, so he would be happy with a more relaxed lifestyle, but don’t let that fool you! Pedro still has a playful side and knows how to have a good time. He gets along well with other dogs. We are unsure how he is with cats. Potty training is also something that may need to recorrect on, as he came in unaltered and unsure of his marking in home.  Pedro is the kind of dog who would love to be part of your everyday life, whether that means joining you for a leisurely stroll, relaxing beside you on the couch, or giving you sweet hugs and kisses after a long day. He doesn’t ask for much, just a safe home, a loving family, and someone who will never give up on him. Pedro is neutered, 4DX negative, microchipped, and current on vaccines. He is also current on ProHeart 12 for heartworm prevention and Bravecto for flea and tick prevention. His adoption fee is $350. Pedro is currently in Texas but can travel to Washington, Portland, Oregon, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, Kentucky, and locations along the East Coast. If transportation is needed, there is an additional $250 transport fee. Due to state regulations, dogs cannot travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts. Ima, a petite pug LOADED with personality! Ima is an adorably compact young adult F pug who was rescued from an abusive living situation in Laredo, TX. You’d never know her past from her sunny, snorty demeanor. She loves everything….except for domineering little male dogs that try to get in her face or too close to her backside. Having been used as a backyard breeder puppy factory, she assertively makes it known that those days are done! In all other instances, she is friendly & happy-go-lucky: with humans of all ages/sizes, other dogs, and cats. Ima delights in giving stuffies the “what for”, showing them who is boss. Crazy zooming sessions are elicited by vigorously scritching her butt (which also loosens a storm of ‘pug glitter’ 😂). In play, she will often grasp her buddy’s tail & then twerk with glee. This resilient little lady has overcome a horrific past to become a fantastic addition to any household. Could your home be her forever? Attributes: Housebroken with doggy door. Through no fault of his own, he found himself owner surrendered to a shelter, but he's ready to leave that chapter behind and find the forever family he deserves. Gus can be unsure of meeting new people at first, and may be a little shy and territorial. Once he knows you, he will be your best friend for life. He will welcome you with kisses, happy jumps, lots of tail wags.  When Gus was owner surrendered, we were told that he is potty trained and does know how to use a bell to alert when needing to use the bathroom. Animal Information: Bug is just an itty bitty "pug mix" that found herself in need of rescue. Who were we to say no? We are confident that little mug will get a lot of attention, and can't wait to meet her! Foster Profile:  Bug was named by my kids, and it turned out to be the perfect fit! She may be tiny (2lbs right now!), but she’s absolutely full of spunk. Bug loves chasing her furry foster siblings around, even though they’re all significantly larger than she is. Her favorite companion is our Doberman, and it’s hilarious watching her run as fast as her little legs will carry her just to keep up with him as he casually walks across the lawn. Bug is doing excellent with both crate and potty training. As a small-breed dog, potty training will likely be her biggest challenge, which is understandable when your bladder is about the size of a grape. She’s making great progress, though, and with frequent potty breaks, she’s primarily doing her business outside in the yard. She can hold it for up to six hours overnight, so a home with easy access to a convenient potty area would be ideal. Bug loves playing with my children and is friendly with our cat, too. With her playful personality, tiny size, and big-dog confidence, she’s sure to make a wonderful pocket-sized companion for one very lucky family! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter (on contract, if applicable), core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
