Story
Looking for a running or biking partner? An Energizer Bunny dog that can keep up with your ATV? Handsome Carter looks like a beagle and acts like a whirling dervish! He came to our shelter after his owner lost his housing, and FAAS has had him for almost a year. He's a resilient fellow, but he needs a loving forever home. Can you love Carter? * 3 years old * 62 lbs * super energetic & needs daily exercise * loves roughhousing with other big dogs * loves people * loves toys, especially balls! * older kids okay (plays too roughly for little ones) FAAS offers free canine training with every dog adoption. Help Carter achieve his full social potential with classes at your local canine charm school and FAAS will reimburse you up to $200! Meet Carter any afternoon but Mondays at FAAS, 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda, California. He is eagerly waiting for you.

Story
Milo is a 9 year-old mixed breed dog. He is a good training buddy and highly food motivated. He has taken a number of training classes and knows many cues. On a day to day basis he's an easy dog who sleeps most of the day, while still enjoying walks and hiking. He's very healthy and regularly gets mistaken for a much younger dog. He walks well on leash. Away from the home he is friendly to strangers and non dog reactive. In the home he is overly excited by new people and takes awhile to settle. He loves all people, he just gets worked up at first. He is very anxious about babies and toddlers and needs a home without young children. We are rehoming him because he is extremely anxious around our newborn. Milo would be a good companion for someone looking for a constant companion who enjoys daily cuddles. If you enjoy dog training, he'll train all day with you.

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog Adoption:3Mack is a distinguished senior Rottweiler who's ready to find a quiet, loving home where he can enjoy his golden years. At around 8 years old, Mack is mellow and easygoing, with a sweet demeanor that will melt your heart.  Polite Leash Manners: Mack walks nicely on a leash and is easy to handle.  Affectionate & Friendly: He leans in for scritches and enjoys gentle handling, showing his appreciation with soft wags of his tail nub.  Treat Motivated: This smart boy knows his name and takes treats with the utmost gentleness.  Independent Socializer: In playgroups, Mack is calm and independent, preferring low-key interactions with other dogs or simply exploring on his own. He'll be content with appropriately matched canine friends or as the only dog in the household. Mack may be a little overwhelmed in the shelter, but in a nurturing home, he's sure to blossom into a devoted and loving companion. He's looking for patient adopters who will allow him to engage on his terms and provide gentle affection to win his heart. Mack would thrive in an adult home where he can enjoy a peaceful environment. If you're looking for a low-maintenance, sweet senior to share your life with, Mack is ready to be your best friend!December 12, 2024, 12:58 pm
