Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog C:5Meet this gentle giant! This 7-year-old Rottweiler mix weighs in at 148 lbs of pure sweetness and charm. He's not only a handsome companion but also incredibly easy on leash, making your walks enjoyable and relaxed. Treat-motivated and eager to please, he loves nothing more than leaning gently against you for pets and affection, looking up at you with those loving eyes that will melt your heart. He thrives on attention but also appreciates his independence, happily exploring his surroundings and taking in all the interesting smells. He would do best in a home without cats or other small animals, but he could be placed with appropriately matched canine friends or enjoy being the solo dog while having properly matched dog friends to interact with outside the home. With his gentle demeanor, he's a perfect fit for someone looking for a big, affectionate buddy to share their life with. He's a very sweet, gentle soul just waiting to bring love and warmth to his forever family. October 11, 2024, 10:51 pm

Story
I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog H:1Where are our Rottie lovers? Babyn is around 1.5 years old, and ready for his forever home. He's the epitome of a teddy bear: cuddly, affectionate, and medium energy level from what we've been told. Here in the shelter setting, he can be a little wary of strangers at first, and needs time to warm up and approach at his own pace. The good news is that he is a foodie, and you can bond over the love of all good treats and snacks.  He's been gentle around other dogs and might be okay living with another dog with well matched energy, or would be happy to be your only pet.  Come meet Babyn!October 11, 2024, 10:51 pm

Story
Meet Roscoe! This stunning 1-year-old Rottweiler could be a cover model for a high-end pet calendar, but don't let his dapper good looks fool you! According to volunteers, Roscoe is just a big smooshy puppy with zero spatial awareness and a super silly side! If you have a lap, he'll gladly "smoosh" himself into it. He is also very happy to pose for long photo sessions and he loves to give - and get - kisses. Roscoe is a playful boy who can't wait to romp and run with his buddy Romeo in the shelter's play yard and he is a good parallel-walker with our HSNB alumni superstar and resident pup-tester, Ari. If you'd like to meet Roscoe, visit our Adoption Page at HSNB.org and fill out a Dog Adoption Interest Application. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 58 Age: 1yrs 7mths 1wks

Oh sweet Zaelle, this delicate pumpkin-seed-personality is sure to warm your heart and home like a freshly baked pumpkin pie. Zaelle is a wallflower that has yet to bloom. The city is a bit nerve-wracking to get used to, and Zaelle yearns for the gentle encouragement, patience, and love humans will bring. Every day this sweet child gets more curious and more brave. We cannot wait to see her fully acclimated and being the wonderful dog we know she is deep down. Are you ready for a true soulmate? Zaelle wants to spend every Autumn with you.

Story
We’ve come a long way with Stanley! He is a sweet, smart and anxious dog who has confidence issues since a very young pup. We got him from someone selling puppies and think he may have been mistreated or separated from his mom early. We both worked from home so he got full time care but he still had separation anxiety. We’ve worked on building his confidence, constantly praising and showing affection and it finally came together when he turned 1.5. He now stays at home for 6-8 hours without issue (as long as his emotional needs are met first) and is generally more calm. He is still a velcro dog so folks may want to continue to work on gaining his independence. He thrives with mental stimulation, like hiding his dog food throughout the house and practicing tricks. Once he’;s put in a good day’w work, he’ll sleep from early evening on.
