Story
Dior came to us as a stray, and sadly, no one came forward to reclaim her. While we don’t know much about her past, we do know that she is a young, affectionate, playful girl who is eager to learn and loves being around people. Dior is still learning some important life skills, especially when it comes to impulse control. She can become overstimulated quickly during playtime or even when receiving affection. Dior is happy, loving, energetic, and incredibly eager to please. She has so much potential, but she will need a home that understands her needs and is committed to continuing the structure, training, and consistency she has been receiving here. Because of her behavior in the shelter environment, we feel Dior will be happiest as the only pet in the home. An adult-only home would be ideal, with someone who is willing and able to continue helping her build confidence, patience, and impulse control. Dior isn't looking for a perfect home; she's looking for the right home. She has so much love to give and so much more to learn, and we truly believe that with the right person by her side, she can thrive. 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #3537

Story
Hi, I’m Kong! I’m a big, goofy Rottweiler with an even bigger heart! I love to play fetch, splash around in the water, chase my favorite toys, and, most of all, soak up attention from my people. If you sit down, don’t be surprised if I come barreling over and plop my whole backside into your lap for some love! I recently lost my home after my family fell on hard times, and all the big changes have made me a little louder than usual when I first see new people or dogs through a fence or kennel door. But once you actually meet me, you’ll quickly discover I’m a sweet, affectionate boy who just wants to be part of the fun. I’m an active guy who would love a family that enjoys playing, exploring, and continuing to teach me all the good things life has to offer. Because I’m such a big, enthusiastic goofball, I’d do best with older children who won’t mind my exuberant personality. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend who will keep you laughing and remind you every day just how much he loves you, I think we’re going to get along just fine! 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #:3537

Story
Capella is a sweet, playful, and outgoing girl who is ready to find a patient family to call her own! Capella came to us as a stray, and while she was roaming loose, there was an unfortunate incident where she was uncomfortable when someone attempted to secure her. Capella snapped and broke skin on the individual’s thumb. This incident is classified as a Level 2 bite on the Dr. Ian Dunbar Dog Bite Scale. We believe Capella’s response was fear-based and occurred during a stressful and unusual circumstance. Since coming to the shelter, she has shown us just how loving she can be! She is also a playful girl who enjoys getting out, exploring, and having fun. Because of her history, Capella is required to go to a home with children ages 13 and older. Capella has already shown us what a loving girl she can be, and we think her best days are still ahead of her! 3159 Susquehanna Trail N York PA 17406 Kennel #3537

Story
Vinny is a 7 month old neutered male Rottweiler who weighs 50 pounds. He was surrendered to our vet when he was no longer wanted and they reached out to us to get him to safety. Vinny is a bit shy to start, but bonds to his person quickly and would do best in a home with no kids. He has tested well with other dogs, is learning to walk on the leash and will thrive in a home. Story
Knox is a 12 week old neutered male Rottweiler who weighs 19 pounds. He was surrendered to our vet due to having a head tilt and it was clear that something was going on with him. After a work up, our vet determined that he has generalized proprioceptive ataxis, which simply means that he walks like he is drunk and just a bit different. We are looking for the perfect forever home that can see past this special need and can spoil him rotten. He is a very motivated puppy that wants to please his person and he is doing great since coming to our care. Knox has tested well with other dogs, keeps his kennel clean and loves to snuggle up with soft blankets. Story
Meet Raya: Raya is about a 2 year old (as of August 2026) boxer mix that weighs 40 pounds. Raya was surrendered to a high kill shelter with her litter of 7 puppies when we were able to rescue them from there. Raya is currently being fostered in the Mountville, PA area and would love to meet her forever family. Raya is a very, very sweet girl! She's very friendly and loves to meet new people. She loves playing with toys or chomping on chew bones, and is food motivated. Raya just loves attention and affection from anyone willing to give it to her. Raya loves to play with and snuggle the resident dog in her foster home, but because she can be dog selective at times, she would need a slow, proper introduction to any other dogs in the potential adopter's home. Raya is very much a shadow dog that loves to be wherever her humans are. She spends her days curled up against her foster mama on the couch and playing with her foster fur sister. Raya loves being pet and will paw for more. While she can be a couch potato if you're having a lazy day, Raya is also very curious and always up for adventure! She could definitely keep up with an active family. She loves her morning routine of riding along to school drop off! Raya is both crate trained and house trained. Raya loves going for walks and is working on not pulling when she gets excited.  She has the potential to be a great walking buddy. She also does well in the car. She will happily sleep overnight in her crate but also makes the best bed buddy! Raya is up to date on her shots and is spayed. If you are interested in a sweet lady, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application. Story
Meet Tony: Tony aka Rocky is an active 6 month old (as of September 5, 2026) boxer / hound mix (best guess) that weighs about 32 pounds. Tony aka Rocky is being fostered in the Lancaster, PA area. He is playful, affectionate, and VERY food-motivated.  Rocky’s favorite activities are wrestling with his foster sister, being chased by her in the back yard, and chewing on toys, the harder the better.  Rocky also enjoys long walks, watching the world go by from a windows seat or fenced-in yard, and snuggling with people and dogs that he knows. Despite his tough-sounding name, Rocky can be a little timid in new situations.  He looks to the other dogs in his foster home for guidance on how to react.  In familiar surroundings, his exuberance and personality shine through, but he’s not one to jump into the arms of a stranger. His foster parents are working on exposing Rocky to new situations to build up his confidence.  Once his trust is earned, he leans into hugs and gives kisses generously.  Tony aka Rocky gets along with other dogs and would benefit from having another playful dog to help him burn off energy, keep him entertained, and teach him the household routine.  He runs to the car and readily jumps in once he realizes he’s about to go for a ride. Rocky knows the command “house”, runs to his crate for food, and sometimes goes there on his own to rest.  Tony aka Rocky was part of a litter that (Zoc, Rix, Tony, Scarlett, Gus, Alvin and Vixen) was rescued with their mom (Raya) after they were surrendered to a high kill shelter. We are thankful that we have been able to have them grow up in foster care as opposed to the loud shelter life. Tony was good with both other dogs and cats when he was fostered in the south. Tony is crate trained. As a puppy, Tony will need some patience while he works on his house training. We would love for Tony to have a home with a fenced in yard for him to run and play freely. Tony is up to date on his puppy shots and neutered. If you are interested in giving this sweetie lots of love and a great life, please go to Charlie’s Crusaders website (www.charliescrusaders.org) to fill out an application.
