Story
This beautiful 1.5-year-old Rottweiler girl is the total package. Piper Rae came to us as an owner surrender. Sweet, loving, and ready to find her forever family! Weighing in at around 65 pounds, she’s the perfect mix of strong and snuggly, and she absolutely adores people. Whether it’s soaking up attention or leaning in for love, she’s happiest right by your side. She’s also great with other dogs and enjoys having canine companions to play and hang out with. Her friendly, social personality makes her a joy to have around! At just a year and a half old, she’s still very much a puppy at heart. Playful, energetic, and sometimes a little goofy! Because of her size and enthusiasm, she would do best in a home with older children who can comfortably interact with her. Because of her energy level, a secure 6-foot fence is recommended so she can safely stretch her legs and enjoy some outdoor time. If a 6-foot fenced yard isn’t available, she will need to be leashed at all times to keep her safe. She thrives in a structured environment and will do best with an adopter who is committed to continuing her training and providing consistency. She’s eager to learn and wants to please. She just needs someone willing to guide her and help her be her very best self. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will be your shadow and your biggest fan, she might just be your perfect match. 💕 Piper is being fostered in York Haven, PA. Interested adopters should be willing to travel with all members of the family and dogs to the foster home. Kennel license 9117 PO box 2372 Reading pa 19608

Story
Meet Honey 🤍 Honey is a 6-year-old Rottweiler/Boxer mix with a loyal heart and a strong connection to her people. She’s affectionate, super smart, and happiest when she’s with her family. Honey bonds deeply with her people and thrives in a home where she feels secure and loved. She enjoys companionship and is known for her loving nature with those she trusts. Since welcoming a baby into our home, Honey has become more protective of our property and has shown that she is not comfortable around other dogs that she does not know, especially smaller ones. Because of this, she will do best as the only pet in the home. This decision has been made with a lot of care and love, with the goal of finding Honey a home where she can feel comfortable, loved, and set up for success. If you’re looking for a loyal companion and are able to provide the right environment for her, Honey has a lot of love to give and will make a deeply devoted addition to the right home 🤍

Story
Meet Tiny — who is, in fact, not tiny at all. This big, lovable boy seems to have missed the memo about his size and is fully convinced he’s a lap dog. His favorite move? The full-body lean. Tiny will gently press his himself against you to politely request pets, affection, and more pets. It’s his signature hug, and honestly, it’s hard to say no. Tiny is a sweet, people-loving guy who thrives on attention and connection. He enjoys being near his humans and will happily soak up all the love you’re willing to give. If you stop petting him, don’t worry — he’ll kindly remind you by leaning in a little closer. He’s had a positive dog meet here at the shelter and showed us he can be a friendly social butterfly with other pups. He’d absolutely be open to meeting any potential canine siblings to see if it’s a good match. Available at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro Pa 19508, KL#1257

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue is primarily a sanctuary for senior and medically needy dogs.  Every once in awhile you will see younger dogs but for the most part our dogs live out their life at the ranch at the request of their previous owners or their owners families.  We have many sponsorship dogs.  Our sponsors love to keep in touch and know how their sponsored fur buddy is doing :) When we have foster families we are thrilled to be able to take adoptable younger dogs :)  So if you have ever thought about becoming fosters please feel free to go to our foster/volunteer page and fill out an application. The Ranch located at 737 Taylor Rd., Windsor, PA is always looking for dedicated volunteers that will commit to at least a 2 hour shift per week at the rescue.  Volunteers work in play yards, help with laundry and feeding.  Some enjoy landscaping or carpentry projects and some like to bake for the healing center visitors :) Thank you for supporting our mission of caring for the elderly and medically needy souls that need us! Sierra spent most of her life living in complete filth with tank. She ended up in a shelter and when we saw her we knew we had to help them. Tank and Sierra both got  their freedom ride and now  live in the pooch palace :) Sierra was having some issues with her legs and being stiff and sore so we gave her a librella injection and meds and she is thriving! She LOVES playing in the field with the biggest smile on her face. Her and Tank live together and I think its safe to say there both loving there new lives :)Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. Please fill out an adoption application: Adoption application (Dog) Adoption Application (Cat)   Please understand we do not adopt out dogs to families with children under the age of 5. We do not adopt dogs to renters. Some dogs will have fence requirements while others may not. A pet is a lifetime commitment. The dogs and cats in our system find themselves there, for the most part, because their humans did not have the same loyalty to them as they did to their owners. We do not take the adoption process lightly, and will do everything in our power to make sure the animal is placed correctly the first time around for your sake and theirs. Thank you for choosing to adopt not shop! I have an 8 year old Rottweiler. She's absolutely amazing and she's extremely friendly. I would keep her but recently had a baby and life has just been too much to handle. She's been great but in our current situation we just think she deserves a better situation. Will be interviewing
