This is Estrella , spanish for Star! Our lovely dog just turned 5 years this January 7th! Shes the most caring and loving pet , she grew up with both my daughters and loves to spend time with them ! She is a literal gentle giant , she may look tough and perhaps scary to some but once you get to meet her you will change your perspective on her ! We have not ever not even once have had a behavioral issue with her ! Shes protecting of us and anyone she knows but is not aggressive at all ! She gets along great with other people and other dogs and kids ! We are hoping she can find a new home where she has lots of yard to play in and no issues with landlords having an issue with her breed! We are looking to rehome her for those reasons! Our current home has almost no yard for her to play in and she loves to play outside! And issues with her breed type at pur community !

Story
Clyde was abandoned, along with another Rottweiler, Bonnie, in a remote area on Interstate 90. Volunteers, including SVPS founders Susan Burk and Dorie Ross, helped to capture them and get them to the local shelter for their mandatory hold time. Following their hold time, they were transferred to our rescue. His age is estimated to be 4-5 years old. Both Bonnie and Clyde are currently in a boarding and training program, where they are doing incredibly well. They are both goofy, lovable dogs that will make great family members. Both would like to eat their meals in one big gulp, but they are being trained to wait until they are given the command to eat, and we have them eating from slow feeder bowls, which is helping. They aren’t exhibiting resource guarding behavior. While Bonnie and Clyde were found together and obviously lived together previously, they are not a bonded pair, and our trainer has recommended that they be separated. They listen and work better when being trained one on one. As for other dogs, they have been indifferent so far when seeing other dogs at the training facility and will need to meet and be evaluated with any dogs already in the family. Clyde is pretty outgoing and warms up to people quickly. He’s a happy boy who loves attention. Since being in board and train, his confidence has grown along with his obedience training, and we have no doubt it will continue to do so.

Story
We adopted Bheema from a shelter and have had him for three months. He was brought to the shelter abandoned and tremendously underweight. The vet thinks he is about a year old. Bheema is a sweet, loyal, dog with lots of young puppy energy. He is a quick learner and is house-trained and can sit, stay and come and leave it/release. I would say he does live up to the "velcro dog" association of this breed. We are rehoming Bheema because he has high anxiety, including separation anxiety, and is very protective of our home, which makes it hard to have people over because he barks/is anxious. In talking to a Rottweiler specialists these are all trainable, but it will take time and we feel that we do not have the time/capacity. Seeking someone with expertise with this breed and (nonviolent) dog training background. He will make someone very happy with the right training and owners with a resonant lifestyle to have this type of dog. He needs lots of exercise and stimulation.

Story
Kaya (Pronounced K-Uh) was born in Idaho in July 2020, weight is approx. 60lbs. She has been with our family since she was 8weeks old. She was raised with a family of 2 children and she plays well with other dogs. She is on the smaller side of dobies and she loves to try and sit in your lap! Kaya loves to play ball and run. She loves to howl at sirens and planes, but she is adapted to a bark collar when needed. Kaya has been an outdoor dog and is good at warning us when vehicles approach. She has been in a crate indoors as needed and when traveling. She bathes well and tolerates her nails being trimmed. She uses a gentle lead when walking. She is microchipped, rabies and Dap expire March 2026, blood work was done in 2025 and was on Proin for incontinence, but discontinued due to her being outdoors. We are moving and are unable to take her due to housing restrictions.
