Hello yawl, I am Susanna Mae. I am a 7-and-a-half-year-old Shih Tzu mix. I have been with  my foster Brian for about 7 months. When I first came to Street Paws I was very shy and unsure of what to think of my foster parents house. I seem to adapt pretty well and become very comfortable in my environment. I currently have 3 foster brothers and a sister. Even though I am tiny I can still handle my own with two dogs and a cat in the house. I have hypo thyroid and urinary crystals so I need lifelong medication and prescription CD dry dog food.  Adoptions are limited to an approximately 150-mile radius from Locust Grove, GA, certain circumstances may allow exceptions.  To apply to adopt this pet, please fill out a Preliminary Adoption Application at  https://form.jotform.com/232355976148163 The application does not commit you to an adoption. It is used to screen those interested to make sure the home is a good match for the pet and your family. We verify vet history on current/previous pets to ensure pets have been spayed/neutered and vaccinated annually. Please call your vet to give permission for us to call them. Our adoption fee is $300 They have been given age-appropriate vaccinations, are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested and treated, if necessary, dewormed, have received flea prevention, and are micro-chipped. We are an animal shelter and therefore are not able to individually potty train our residents. Many adult dogs do arrive “house broken” however due to animal behavior any change in environment will make an emotional impact on the animals and therefore initiate unwanted behaviors during the acclamation period. Please keep this in mind. Puppies do not have the biological maturity to maintain absolute bladder or bowel control and will require a certain degree of potty training and house breaking. Luckys mom died. I am no longer able to care for that because I care for my 88-year-old mother-in-law who has fallen twice. Lucky is 13 years old he is very sweet and calm. He has have trained. He is lovable. He was in an accident when he was younger and lost an eye. It’s a long way with other dogs. I love him and want to keep him but I am not able my mother-in-law will end up in the hospital last time she tripped over him. I need help soon

Story

Several years ago a good samaritan in Nashville saved me, I was running down the road. She took me in for 3 years, but couldn't afford to take me to the vet. I developed skin and ear issues so she reached out for someone to take me, and here I am getting the health care I need and responding very well. Yes I'm mostly blind, but I'm a gentle fellow that enjoys being petted. I could spend the day sitting on a lap being company and enjoying a persons company. I'm quiet and I would be fine in a small home with a small fenced yard because I love to sit in the sun and snooze.
