MEET MILO! This petite little Shih Tzu is named Milo! He was surrendered to City of Elderly Love due to his former owner's health troubles. We're happy to have helped Milo bypass the scary shelter and he's now ready to land a foster or forever home where he can live his best life! Milo is around 9 years old and has great energy! He bounces around in delight when you get home from work or when he knows it's time to go for a walk. Its rare that you don't see Milo's adorable little tongue poking out of his mouth, both when he's awake and asleep! Milo is a total shadow dog and really bonds with "his person". He'll follow you around the house just to see what you're up to, snuggle up on the couch with you, and be the very best (sometimes opinionated) passenger while running errands. Milo does well with cats and his previous owner reported that he liked other dogs though he isn't currently living with any. We recommend an appropriate introduction and decompression time for all of our newly fostered/adopted pets. Milo, not unlike other small dogs, does have a bigger personality and can be a bit stubborn. We'd grade him at like a 5 on the 1-10 spiciness scale. When he doesn't want to do something or isn't in the mood to get up, he may nip at you to go away. He also tends to be protective of his high value treats and toys. We do expect a little spiciness to subside once he is neutered and has his painful teeth addressed. He tends to be a bit cranky at vet visits and does better when he's given meds to relax ahead of time. Because of this, we don't recommend he live with kids and he should be adopted by someone who isn't deterred by a mildly-spicy small dog 'tude and can provide him some structure. Milo is available for foster or adoption through City of Elderly Love. He has received a veterinary workup and is scheduled for a dental and neuter in mid-December (covered by the rescue).
