Story
Meet Leo — the spitfire you didn’t know you needed in your life. Around here, we sometimes call him “The Sheriff.” Leo likes to keep an eye on everything that’s going on and prefers things to be orderly, but he’s never pushy or aggressive. He’s simply a confident little guy who likes to know what’s happening and be part of the action. Leo is curious, brave, and always ready for his next adventure. Whether he’s exploring the yard, accompanying you on a walk, or supervising household activities, he approaches life with enthusiasm and confidence. He’s friendly with everyone he meets and carries himself like he owns the place—in the most charming way possible. Despite his adventurous spirit, Leo knows how to relax when the day is done. After his shift as Sheriff, his favorite place is curled up next to his person, soaking up affection and enjoying a well-earned cuddle. Leo also has excellent house manners. He’s house trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is friendly and well-behaved in public. He’s the kind of dog who can join you on an outing and then happily settle in at home afterward. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick with a big personality, a sense of adventure, and a soft spot for snuggles, Leo may just be your perfect match. ❤️ If you’re ready for a meet and greet, kick off the process with an application at www.flyingbrescue.org/adopt. Our application is thorough but there are no right or wrong answers - we just want to make sure you and the pet are the perfect match. Once we receive your application, we will schedule a phone interview. Our adoptions include a 2-week trial period with fully refundable adoption fees during that period. If you are located outside of Texas, we offer transportation services and have happy families as references. We value transparency, so don’t be afraid to ask us anything.

Story
Meet Teddy ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¾ Teddy is an 11-year-old Shih Tzu and Poodle mix (often called a â&#194&#128&#194&#156Shih-Pooâ&#194&#128&#194&#157) weighing about 20 pounds â&#194&#128&#194&#148 the perfect medium-small size for cuddles on the couch and leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. Donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t let his age fool you â&#194&#128&#194&#148 this charming gentleman is still wonderfully active and enjoys his daily walks just as much as he loves soaking up attention from his favorite humans. Teddyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s favorite spot in the house? A comfy place on the couch where he can gaze out the window, keeping an eye on the world. He may have a protective bark, but itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s all talk â&#194&#128&#194&#148 heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s completely harmless and just likes to make sure everyone knows heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s on duty. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s wonderful with children and has a gentle, loving nature. The only thing he asks is that his face not be touched â&#194&#128&#194&#148 he prefers pets and scratches everywhere else. Teddy would do best as the only dog in the home, as heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not great with other dogs and prefers having his people all to himself. Teddy is fully potty trained and will politely let you know when he needs to go outside. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s also crate trained and can comfortably relax there for hours at a time. He is up to date on all vaccinations and has no health concerns, making him a happy and healthy companion ready for his next chapter. While Teddy absolutely loves affection and companionship, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s also perfectly content spending some quiet time on his own. He would thrive in a home where he can get the love and attention he deserves while still enjoying his independence. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a loyal, loving 20-pound bundle of affection with the perfect balance of playful energy and cozy couch vibes, Teddy might just be your perfect match. ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¶ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#155 This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program. Story
Kibble is a 1-year-old Shih Tzu/Poodle mix (aka a little walking cloud with a heartbeat ) who brings a perfect mix of playful energy and easygoing charm to every room he enters.   This happy boy is the definition of “go with the flow.” Whether it’s tagging along for a car ride, strolling nicely on leash, or simply hanging out with his people, Kibble is just happy to be included. He thrives on companionship and would love a home where he can be part of the daily routine—your shadow, your co-pilot, your tiny emotional support sidekick.   Kibble gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes, is great with cats, and does well with children. His gentle, friendly nature makes him a social butterfly without being overwhelming.   Bonus: we haven’t noticed any shedding, so your black clothes can breathe easy for once.   If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate pup with a laid-back personality, Kibble is ready to be your new best friend.   Adoption Application: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/13108/generic ##2696741##

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
