Story
King is the sweetest little boy in the world. It breaks my heart to have to rehome him because it is not his fault one bit. King belonged to my mom (and me but she bore the financial responsibilities) who passed away last summer. I have since taken him in and cannot afford his necessary expenses like grooming, shots and insurance. As an elderly dog, King needs a little more care than I can offer him. He get quite anxious at the groomer and typically needs sedation for the service or just an experienced groomer who has the time and patience for him. I’ve tried at him grooming but I’m more afraid we will hurt each other and make things worse. I am also working 2 jobs trying to make ends meet for us causing him to be home all day by himself most days which I don’t want for him. I don’t want to surrender him. I would rather find someone who would like to look after him for the last few years of his life because he still has so much energy, life and love to give! He really is a sweet boy.

Story
Meet Teddy ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¾ Teddy is an 11-year-old Shih Tzu and Poodle mix (often called a â&#194&#128&#194&#156Shih-Pooâ&#194&#128&#194&#157) weighing about 20 pounds â&#194&#128&#194&#148 the perfect medium-small size for cuddles on the couch and leisurely strolls around the neighborhood. Donâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t let his age fool you â&#194&#128&#194&#148 this charming gentleman is still wonderfully active and enjoys his daily walks just as much as he loves soaking up attention from his favorite humans. Teddyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s favorite spot in the house? A comfy place on the couch where he can gaze out the window, keeping an eye on the world. He may have a protective bark, but itâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s all talk â&#194&#128&#194&#148 heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s completely harmless and just likes to make sure everyone knows heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s on duty. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s wonderful with children and has a gentle, loving nature. The only thing he asks is that his face not be touched â&#194&#128&#194&#148 he prefers pets and scratches everywhere else. Teddy would do best as the only dog in the home, as heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s not great with other dogs and prefers having his people all to himself. Teddy is fully potty trained and will politely let you know when he needs to go outside. Heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s also crate trained and can comfortably relax there for hours at a time. He is up to date on all vaccinations and has no health concerns, making him a happy and healthy companion ready for his next chapter. While Teddy absolutely loves affection and companionship, heâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s also perfectly content spending some quiet time on his own. He would thrive in a home where he can get the love and attention he deserves while still enjoying his independence. If youâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re looking for a loyal, loving 20-pound bundle of affection with the perfect balance of playful energy and cozy couch vibes, Teddy might just be your perfect match. ð&#194&#159&#194&#144¶ð&#194&#159&#194&#146&#194&#155 This pet is participating in the Dallas Pets Alive rehoming program. Story
Meet Noelle - Ready for her 'fur'ever home Noelle is a 3-year-old Shih Tzu mix with a confident, fun personality. She loves meeting people and will happily greet you with excited little hops and paws on your leg. She does great with other dogs and enjoys being part of a pack, often leading the charge outside to bark at squirrels or check out what’s going on. She would love a home with a yard and possibly another friendly dog. Noelle is house trained, enjoys car rides, and settles in well once comfortable. She’s still working on leash manners and will need a little patience there. She’s not a cuddly lap dog but prefers to be near her people and part of the action. She can be vocal when alerting, so a home that’s comfortable with some barking is best. Noelle would do best in an adult home or with older, dog-savvy kids. If you’re looking for a fun, independent companion with personality, Noelle may be your girl. ##2611248##

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
