Meet Milrany! Named after the Melissa road where she was found, Milrany has quite the story, and an even bigger personality. After overcoming some serious medical challenges, she's healthy, happy, and making up for lost time with adorable zoomies that will have you wondering if she's really 5 years old. Milrany is sweet, smart, and incredibly devoted to her people. She can be a little cautious when meeting someone new, but once you've earned her trust, you've got a loyal best friend for life. She loves other dogs, gets along with cats, and is perfectly happy cheering on the big dogs from the sidelines while barking encouragement. She's house-trained, sleeps happily in her crate next to her foster mom's bed, and would be thrilled to graduate to snuggling in bed with her forever family. Most days, though, she's content to curl up in a soft dog bed, keep an eye on her favorite person, and sneak in a few cuddles whenever possible. Milrany has a permanent puppy face, adorable poodle-like fur that hardly sheds, and a PhD in begging (we're working on that!). She doesn't need a ton of exercise—just regular potty breaks, a cozy place to nap, and someone to love. Meet “Material Girl” Taffeta! Sweet Taffeta is a 7-year-old girl who is still learning that the world can be a safe and wonderful place. She is a very shy, scared little girl, but we’re already seeing glimpses of the sweet dog underneath that uncertainty. Taffeta is learning so much by watching the other dogs around her. Their confidence is helping her discover that she doesn’t have to be afraid, and she is making progress every day. We’re still getting to know this precious girl, but we have a feeling it won’t be long before she realizes that people can be trusted and starts making her way over for some love. Taffeta will need a patient, understanding family who will give her the time and space she needs to come out of her shell. She may not be the girl who runs up to greet you on day one, but watching a shy dog learn to trust and blossom is one of the most rewarding things in rescue. She may be a little scared right now, but this little Material Girl has plenty of love waiting to be discovered. Taffeta is still writing her story—and we can't wait to see how beautiful it becomes. My name is Brew, but my Foster Mom calls me Brew Brew or Brewster, depending on what my current activity is. The Dogter said I am about 3 years old, yet I act like a puppy sometimes. At my last visit to the Dogter, I weighed 11 pounds. I see a diet in my future. I love my scratches, especially at bedtime. If you’re petting another dog friend, I will push my way in because I like to share. As a connoisseur of food, I really like my kibble with a little boiled chicken on top and I’m partial to puppy treats. I also give good puppy kisses. At first, I was really scared to go on walks, but I’m getting better every day. I go potty in the yard but sometimes that threshold says stop and I must be coaxed across it. After I’m outside, it’s all business and I’m ready to go back inside. My Foster Mom thinks I would do better with another playmate that would help me continue to learn how to not be afraid on walks and someone to play with. I think I agree. I’ve been told that I would make that special someone a great companion and I wholeheartedly agree.
