Story
Breed: Shih Tzu/Maltese Mix Age: 4 Years Old Adoption Fee: $400 Snoopy loves quiet companionship, curling up beside you or on your lap while you work, sleeping in the bed, giving sweet kisses, and showing you his favorite toy. Snoopy has been through a lot and is still building confidence, but in the right home he truly shines. He enjoys walks, knows basic commands, is potty pad and outdoor trained (with potty bells). He does well free-roaming with access to his kennel and potty pad when alone, but may scratch at doors. He’s crate trained (with a little protest at first), and while he has some separation anxiety, he settles quickly and is doing very well on daily Prozac, which is affordable and he loves taking it. Snoopy at a glance: • 4 years old, 10 lbs, Shih Tzu/Maltese mix • Requires frequent brushing and eye cleaning; he’s sensitive with grooming and needs a slow, experienced approach (does great with a muzzle) • Sensitive tummy (no current issues) • Separation anxiety + mild car anxiety, but is improving a lot with medication • Needs overnight potty pad access or a middle-of-the-night potty break IDEAL HOME: • Adult-only, calm, patient household • No cats or large dogs (small dogs okay, he mostly coexists) • Someone home often who understands trust is built gently and allows him time to decompress Snoopy isn’t for everyone, but for the right person, he will be everything. He is loyal, affectionate, and deeply devoted once he feels safe. If you’re looking for a sweet companion, a snuggle buddy, and a little soul who will choose you every single day, Snoopy may be your perfect match. Apply: Acesplacerescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Kade!Kade is an adorable 6 year old little pig pen of a guy. He likes being scruffy and left to his own grooming habits. He enjoys morning out by the pool alone and with other pups. His favorite time is feeding time when he bounces around exclaiming he is starving. He’s not a fan of thunder and will ask to be comforted then which in all honesty is one of the few times he allows human contact. He just needs love.To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!

Story
Farley is a very happy boy who loves his people. He is estimated to be about 6 years old, and 13 lbs. He is an easy lap size, and does like to sit on your lap, but he is also content to be hanging out in the same room with you on a doggie bed. He is very treat/food motivated, possibly because he was quite underweight when he came into rescue. He likes to play with toys, especially stuffies, but hasn’t shown much interest in fetch. He gets along with the other dogs in his foster home, although he is at a disadvantage because he is deaf, but that doesn’t seem to slow him down. Farley is so cute! Especially when he does a funny little dance when he gets excited (his Chris Farley dance – think SNL) – sometimes spinning in circles, especially at feeding time or when you first get home. He walks on a leash. When he tries to get into something he shouldn’t, all it takes is a touch on him to catch his attention, make eye contact and direct him to something else more appropriate. He can be crated, although that is not his favorite, and at night, he typically sleeps on the bed (his foster parents caved because he is just too cute!) But because he likes to get into things, he does need to be crated when you are not home (he has gotten onto tables when he thinks there is food there). He may not be good in an apartment because when he first realizes he is alone, or when he is crated, he can panic and bark. He loves to be outside – if his people are there. If people are not outside with him in the yard, he will go out to do his business, and then wants to come back inside right after. If you are interested in Farley, please submit an application and one of our adoption counselors will contact you.

Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
