I am 12lbs, 7 years young, and l am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $400 All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up to date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present at the time of your appointment. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. The shelter is currently open by appointment only with an approved application. Please note, all applications are considered general and stay on file for 6 months. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, the adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. My name is Emerald! I am a retired puppy mill survivor. I am between 6-8 years old Shih Tzu and Poodle mix which is called a Shih Poo. I weight 11 pounds. I am friendly with dogs and cats! A dog sibling would be so awesome to help show me the ropes on how to be a dog. I am still working on my potty training. Crate trained is unknown as I spent my entire life in a crate, so my foster mommy either lets me free roam of the kitchen or in an excerise pen when my foster mommy has to go out to run errands. I am still working on leash training as I was never walked on a leash in my entire life so I am still learning how to. A home with fenced in yard is required as I am a huge flight risk since I am still learning new things that I have never seen before and would get scared easily. I am also looking for a family that would be patience with me through my retirement journey. I am spayed, microchipped, up to date on my vaccinations, and comes with CVI Health Certificate.
