Story
Peppermint Bark is a spayed, cheerful girl with a sweet spirit and a happy outlook on life. Despite having a very difficult past—she was heartbreakingly left behind when her previous owners moved, with severely overgrown fur and mammary tumors—Peppermint Bark has remained loving, gentle, and full of joy. She is now receiving the care and love she deserves and is ready for a forever home of her own. She is potty trained and also comfortable using potty pads indoors, crate trained, listens well on a leash, and does well with other dogs. Peppermint Bark’s happiness is contagious—she expresses it with adorable “happy dances” on her back legs, big joyful stretches while lounging, playful air nips with clicking teeth, and a tail that spins like a little helicopter. Peppermint Bark enjoys food, relaxing on the couch (not sleeping—just quietly observing), being near her people without needing to be on top of them, and going for long outdoor walks when the weather is mild. She isn’t very interested in toys or playtime and prefers a calmer, more relaxed lifestyle. Her ideal home would be with people who enjoy companionship but also appreciate an independent dog who is content to explore, relax, and spend time looking out the window. She loves humans but is not a Velcro dog—just a happy, well-balanced companion. Because of her breed, Peppermint Bark will need a family committed to regular grooming to keep her comfortable and healthy. Meet Lil Man! Lil Man is a sweet, easygoing snugglebug who is just happy to be loved. He came to Reach Rescue from Mississippi and has been thriving in foster care, enjoying all the simple joys of being a beloved companion.  Favorite Activities: - Long walks (the longer, the better!) - Curling up on the sofa (his favorite spot in the house) - Evening snuggles with his foster  He enjoys being included in family life and would be thrilled to join his humans on the sofa or bed for nighttime cuddles. Regular walks or a fenced yard would make him one happy pup!   He gets along well with other dogs and is currently working on his house training. While he does have one bad eye, it doesn't hold him back—he gets around confidently and with great enthusiasm. Iggy is a sweet little guy, a Shih Tzu / Toy Poodle Mix, weighing in at about 9 lbs. He is thought to be 5 years old. Iggy is an absolute perfect boy. He loves everyone. And also really enjoys being with dogs his own size; larger dogs may scare him. He is playful and active, loving and cuddly. His favorite activities including playing with toys, fetching and chasing toys for hours, leash walking (harness please!) and hanging out with his people and other small dogs. An ideal family for Iggy is one with plenty of time to spend with him! And, a willingness to buy him plenty of new toys! A moderately active household appears idea for Iggy’s balance of playfulness and calm. Small dog experience is important for an awareness of the challenges facing small dogs (coyotes, hawks, easily escaping). A secure fenced yard (above ground) is also a big advantage. Iggy is fully vetted and in overall good health. However he may be slightly visually impaired but you’d never know it. He has recently visited an ophthalmologist and currently requires eye drops…which he is not too happy about. Mushu- 4 month old shitzu mix who will likely be 15 pounds full grown. We do it know what day was or how much this girl will shed. A little pup full of joy! Sweet little Mushu only takes on her dragon persona when finding "treasures" to bring back to her lair! She loves her little collection of toys and socks, plays beautifully with other dogs and little kids, and is not a "hyper" puppy. She is still working on house training but goes potty well outside. She loves her crate, snacking on carrots, and finding little cuddle spots where she can chew on her treasures! He was house broken as soon as I brought him into my home. He’s not fond of snow or rain but typically will go out just far enough to take care of business. Cocoa is good with other dogs and is quite playful. He enjoys wrestling and tug with my dog. He enjoys walks, is not reactive to other dogs out walking and wants to meet everyone! Cocoa will be neutered on January 15th and will be available for adoption afterwards. You can meet with him before that.
