Story
Lollipop is a little sweetheart and she has tons of personality! Her mom is a small B&W rat terrier mix and dad is a doodle. Mom was taken in as a stray by a lady with an unaltered doodle. Before she could find a rescue to help with mom, she became pregnant. Lollipop was the runt in the litter. She is friendly, loving and smart! She is also a major snuggler! She likes to wrap her head around your neck and nestle in! Lolli is great with other dogs and people of all ages. She has not been around a cat yet but we are confident she will be fine with proper intro. Being the runt, she always seems to end up on the bottom and she still plays hard and never gets mad! Lolli is healthy, UTD on puppy shots and worming. She will be spayed and microchipped before going to her forever home. Based on puppy weight calculators we think she will be between 25 and 35 lbs. If you would like to add this sweetheart to your family, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

Story
Meet Mitzi! Mitzi is a pint-sized Poodle/Shih Tzu mix with the cutest little face and a playful personality to match. She loves toys and can often be found happily zooming around during playtime. Mitzi enjoys a calm home where she can settle in and relax with her people. She has a sweet, gentle nature and really shines once she’s comfortable, happily playing, exploring, and soaking up attention. Because she’s a small girl with a soft personality, Mitzi would do best with an adopter who appreciates her gentle nature and enjoys watching her personality continue to blossom. In the right home, she’ll make a wonderful little companion. If you’re looking for a cute, playful pup to share your days (and your couch!), Mitzi would love to meet you! Mitzie is estimated to be 3 years old and 11 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. If you are interested in meeting this dog please complete the adoption application on our website at https://safehandsrescue.org/adoption-process/ and then we can contact you about setting up a meeting. We are also holding the following upcoming adoption events! Please note: All dogs/puppies will not be at every event, and some may find their home prior to the event. If you are interested in a specific animal, please check our Facebook page for confirmed attendance the morning of the event: https://www.facebook.com/safehandsrescue/ You do not need to have a Facebook account to check the Safe Hands Facebook page for attendance. We hope to see you at an upcoming Meet & Greet! Story
He is about 8 months now, a standard poodle runt and hes growing slowly. Hes less than 30 lbs and such a managable size. He is so lovely and silly and sweet. I just have too many dogs... his potty training is proving difficult because I dont have the time to focus on it right now and Im overwhelmed. He needs consistency, and he would become the perfect baby with a dedicated owner. He is seriously such a dream. I am a dog groomer, so he is perfect for that process. I would love to work on him regularly for a discounted price if you are in the St. Paul, MN area. Thanks for looking at my beautiful baby blue :)

Story
**Currently Residing in a Foster Home.**I’m Merlin, a handsome 3-year-old grey Standard Poodle with a soft heart and a gentle soul. I was found as a stray, and when no one came to claim me, I made my way to Animal Ark to start fresh. I’m a sweetheart through and through. I am sensitive, smart, and eager to bond with someone who understands me. I do best in a calm home with adults or older teens (16+), where I can feel safe, loved, and appreciated for the loyal companion I’m ready to be. I may have had a mysterious beginning, but I’m hoping my next chapter is full of comfort, kindness, and a family who sees just how great I am.

Story
“TUCKER” is a beautiful creamy white AKC Standard Poodle who was born June 23, 2015. He weighs a healthy 71 pounds and measures 25 inches from the floor to his withers. This pretty boy was one of many Poodles who came to us in April of 2024 from a Minnesota breeder who was retiring. She wanted the best homes for her Poodles as they enter their “retirement” years. Tucker was adopted but sadly has been returned to us as his new family had a life-changing event and could no longer keep Tucker. When Tucker first came to us from the breeder, he quickly learned all about being a family dog. He followed us around our home while being a part of our family, knew how to come when called, sat upon command and was always ready for hugs and attention. We had taken him to various public events, including several softball games that our grandchildren were playing in. While there, he had a good time enjoying the noise, commotion, and people all around him. He also received and enjoyed a lot of love, attention and hugs from many of the children at the games. Tucker is still a quiet, soft, gentle, easy-going big boy, a real cream puff. Going for his daily 2-mile walk with Mike and listens to the birds sing, watching the squirrels running around and meeting people, is on the TOP of his list of fun things he loves to do. I would also like to stress that he is a very smart boy and has quickly figured out what to do and when. Example, rattle the Cheerios bag and he knows it’s time for breakfast as Mike sneaks Tucker a few Cheerios from the bag. Did I tell you that he is such a very smart and a very good boy?! While Tucker has been around other dogs all his life, he completely ignores small dogs.  But he really wants to be with other easy-going large dogs, like our Standard Poodle, Lola. He continues to love greeting people who come to visit, is completely housetrained and has full access to our entire home all day, at night and when we are gone.  Such a good boy! *A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be recommended as he has been a kennel dog and used to a fenced yard. *Tucker has always been with other large, easy going dogs.  He has requested that happen in his new  home. *You must be physically able to handle a large Standard Poodle. *Preference will be given to a quiet family with past Standard Poodle experience. BUT PLEASE: *NO puppies or cats. *NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare him and me). *NO young children. *Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. He has been neutered and at his dental appointments, he had many of his rotting teeth removed. He is now eating a hard kibble, so there is no need for soften or canned dog food. Tucker is such an amazing loving, smart and good boy that we want the best for him. Everyone loves him, including the staff at our Vet’s office as they all wanted to take him home! He has been Vet checked healthy, is up to date on vaccinations, worming, heartworm/lymes/Ehrlich/ Anaplasmosis (4DX) tested negative, placed on a heartworm preventative, and Home Again microchipped. Tucker’s adoption fee is $300.00 which includes $22.00 for our 7.875% Minnesota state sales tax and helps pay for just some of his vet work. Also included is his leash, collar, a bag of quality dog food, a 10-gallon dog food container, treats, a cute toy box, along with a new blanket, a large, soft dog bed and lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw! Again, Tucker is a very nice Standard Poodle boy who wants and truly deserves a loving “forever more” home for his “retirement”. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Sunflower the Goldendoodle mix born in 2023! She is your daily dose of sunshine, served with extra wiggles and a side of chaos. Sunflower was found roaming busy streets like she was late for an important meeting. She ended up at a local animal shelter, but sadly no one came to claim this golden ray of happiness. That’s when we stepped in. We brought her in for her spay day and, after removing what felt like several pounds of dirt and matting, discovered an absolute gem underneath. The glow-up was real, folks. Sunflower is a young pup with excellent intentions and questionable body control. She truly wants to be polite, but her wiggly enthusiasm sometimes takes the wheel. She knows basic commands, listens closely, and works very hard to be the goodest girl — even when her legs are doing their own thing. Being left alone is not her favorite hobby. If given the chance, she may redecorate. We’ve been working hard on crate training and she’s making good progress, but she will need to be crated when left alone, currently for no more than about 5 hours. She will let you know when you leave, so shared walls may not be ideal. At night, she sleeps peacefully on a bed right next to us like the loyal little shadow she is. When it comes to playtime, Sunflower plays BIG. If she thinks another dog wants to play, she goes all in — full enthusiasm, no brakes. She would do best with another dog who matches her same “pizzazz for life,” or with a human who is fully committed to meeting her exercise needs. She has a lot of young-dog energy and thrives on structure, routine, and training (and probably snacks). She would likely prefer a home without cats — she sometimes mistakes smaller dogs for play toys. Leashes are… confusing. Sunflower is still figuring those out, so a secure, fenced-in yard would be ideal while she continues her leash education. She also has very long legs and doesn’t always realize how tall she is. Because she is still young and learning body awareness, her family will need to understand that she may accidentally knock someone over when she gets excited. Sunflower is affectionate, joyful, hilarious, and full of potential. She will need time to settle in and adjust to her new home, so we encourage her future family to read and follow the 3/3/3 rule to help set her up for success. With patience, consistency, and a sense of humor, she’ll grow into an amazing companion — and she promises to keep life interesting.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt!
