Or stop by and meet me at Underdog Rescue Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Saturday, October 31st from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs.   Meet Milo! Milo is the newest member of the Underdog family, and we’re excited to get to know this fun-loving, energetic boy! So far, we’ve discovered that Milo loves spending time with his humans, playing with his favorite toys, and keeping himself entertained by tossing his toys around and then fetching them. This clever boy knows how to have a good time! Milo already knows some basic commands, including sit, paw/shake, come, and stay. He’s also 100% house-trained and will ring a bell to let you know when he needs to go outside. What a smart cookie! Friendly doesn’t even begin to describe Milo! Whether you’re an old friend or someone he’s meeting for the very first time, Milo wants to say hello. He loves people and is always ready to make a new friend. At around one year old, Milo is still a young pup with plenty to learn. He’ll benefit from continued obedience training, especially when it comes to leash manners and walking skills. He’s also working on some typical young-dog behaviors, such as counter surfing and barking when he gets excited or wants to express himself. With time, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Milo has so much potential to become an amazing companion. This active boy loves going on long walks where he can sniff all the wonderful smells the world has to offer. Squirrels don’t seem to distract him too much, but bunnies definitely catch his attention! When it’s time to play, Milo is a big fan of fetch, balls, and durable chew toys. Milo is looking for a person or family who can keep up with his energy, provide structure and training, and include him in an active lifestyle. He’ll thrive with someone who has the time and patience to help him grow into his best self while enjoying all the fun and adventures life has to offer. In return, you’ll get a smart, playful, affectionate companion who will fill your days with laughter, love, and plenty of tail wags. Could Milo be the missing piece in your family? ❤️ Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
Hello family, it’s Marg here, short for Margarita. I am excited you want to learn more about me- I am a sweet, fun, gentle and friendly pup. My foster mom says I’m unique because she’s not quite sure what breed mix I am. Probably a doodle/terrier mix. She says it doesn’t matter what mix I am because I’m sweet, listen well, & will cuddle up on the couch next to her. My foster mom says I’m a very good girl. She appreciates I’m not a barker & I don’t really vocalize much at all even when my foster dad comes home from work. My foster home has a few dogs and we all have a blast outside running, chasing, tumbling. I’m starting to get a better idea how to play fetch with my foster sissy & brother.  I get along with other dogs, both big & small. I haven’t had the opportunity to play with cats yet but I’m sure we’d find a mutual understanding of how to play & get along. My foster mom has been taking me on walks to practice my leash skills. She says I’m a pro at walking on a leash. I currently have a big fenced yard to run around in which I do love. I’m working hard on potty training & I’m almost there. I sleep all night long in a crate. I do occasionally whimper when the lights first go out, foster dad is grateful it’s only for a minute or two until my eyes adjust to the dark. If the crate door is left open I will snuggle up with my blanket & a toy for a nap. I know how to sit. I’m currently working on sitting quietly & staying until my foster mom or dad says, “OK,” when it’s time to eat. I’m eager to learn anything you want me to know, toss me a treat, & my attention is yours. I’m trying to get the hang of ringing the bells when I need to go out.  My foster mom says I’d be a great companion as both an only dog and as a second dog. I like kids of all ages. In fact I’d love to have some kids to grow up with. I’d be happy being the center of all your attention to.  I am excited to meet you and begin our life together! If you would like to meet Margs, please visit spotslaststop.org and fill out an application.
