Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 💎 Meet Crystal – A Delicate Gem Ready to Shine 💎 At 3 years old and 26 pounds, Crystal is a soft-hearted sweetheart who’s still learning that the world can be kind. Coming from a hoarding situation, she’s understandably shy with new people and experiences. What she needs most isn’t fancy or flashy—it’s patience, gentleness, and time to let her true sparkle emerge. Like her name, Crystal is something rare and beautiful. With a little warmth and a lot of love, she’ll transform from a fragile gem into a radiant, trusting treasure. She’s already showing her softer side (literally)—she’s discovered a deep appreciation for all things cozy: soft blankets, soft pillows, and soft beds. She’s decided that comfort is, in fact, the cat's meow...err, the dog’s bark! 🐾 Crystal does wonderfully with other dogs and would do best having a confident 4 legged sibling to help her fit in and feel comfortable. But cats? Yeah, that’s gonna be a ‘nope’ from her — she prefers friends who bark back She would also do best in a quieter home with no small kiddos, where her person was retired or works from home. Crystal doesn’t ask for much—just a safe home where she can finally rest, heal, and learn that love doesn’t have to be scary. She gives that adorable head tilt when she's pondering something. Once she trusts you, her affection shines through like sunlight through glass—steady, warm, and endlessly pure. She’ll reward your patience tenfold with quiet love, loyalty, and those gentle tail wags that mean everything. If you’re the kind of person who believes that the best treasures take time to reveal their beauty, Crystal is waiting for you. 💖 ✨ Apply today at haydudeequine.org and help this hidden gem find her forever sparkle. ✨

Story
Meet Mitzi! Mitzi is a pint-sized Poodle/Shih Tzu mix with the cutest face and a truly playful soul. She is still learning that the world is a safe place, her resilient spirit shines through when she’s zooming around with her toys. She is a "gentle soul" seeking a quiet, patient home where she can blossom at her own pace. Because Mitzi is still finding her "brave," she’s looking for an adopter who celebrates the little wins—like the very first time she asks for a head scratch or masters a new routine. If you have a calm heart and plenty of room for a tiny shadow to grow in confidence, Mitzi is ready to start her happily-ever-after with you! Mitzie is estimated to be 3 years old and 11 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. All dogs have had a vet examination, are up to date on all vaccinations, have been given dewormer and heartworm prevention. Dogs over 7 months have been heartworm tested. Story
Sweet Margo has a story, wish she could tell us about it! Luckily for her, she was rescued and is now enjoying plenty of cuddle time in a warm house. She is learning to trust. She wags her little tail and curls up next to you, accepting belly rubs (as she deserves!). Margo has eye drops daily to help her cataracts. She is house trained and just wants to be loved. Someone is going to be lucky to adopt this lady. Margo is estimated to be 6 years old and under 15 lbs. Since we don’t know the dog’s actual genetics, this is just a guess on breed and size when grown. Story
Dakota is about a year old and he’s happy and playful. He has a story similar to other doodles where he was purchased as a puppy by a senior citizen and then when he got older and bigger, he became too much. He was given to a family temporarily that had several children and they loved him, but they were never home and decided they didn’t want to keep him so they gave him to another senior lady that had just lost her husband. Unfortunately , he was too much for her also so he ended up in rescue. He’s really not wild. He’s just a puppy and he’s happy and playful. He would be great in an active family with children. He also plays very well with other dogs. Dakota is neutered, up-to-date on shots, heartworm negative and micro chipped. He’s very sweet and very smart. When he was with the family, they taught him to sit and wait for his dinner while they said their prayers and then he could eat. Dakota is also house trained if you would like to be Dakota’s hero and finally give him the forever home he deserves, please contact omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com and we will send you our information and application. If you do not see a response from us, please check your spam folder.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Tootsie – the gentle goldendoodle with a heart wrapped in mystery and a soul that’s just beginning to shine. With her soft, curly coat and expressive eyes, Tootsie looks like she stepped straight out of a storybook. But her tale isn’t all fairytales and sunshine—it’s one of quiet resilience and learning to trust again. You see, Tootsie didn’t come from a place where humans were kind or love came easy. She’s had to navigate her way through fear and uncertainty, slowly opening her heart one tiny step at a time. Tootsie’s not the dog who’s going to run up and smother you with kisses. In fact, she’d prefer to stay on the sidelines, observing the world with cautious curiosity. Her happy place? Right alongside her canine companions. Give her a few playful pups and a safe yard to roam, and you’ll witness her sparkle come to life—tail wagging, eyes gleaming, and a pep in her step you might’ve never imagined from this once-shy girl. She’s what we lovingly call a “dog’s dog.” She thrives in a pack and takes her social cues from her four-legged friends. If you have a confident, friendly dog at home, Tootsie will quietly attach herself and follow their lead—it’s how she’s learning that people might not be so scary after all. Tootsie will need: A securely fenced yard (4 feet or taller)—she’s quick on her feet and still learning the ropes of the big, wide world. A calm, consistent environment where there aren’t too many surprises. She’s not built for chaos or noise; she’s built for peace. A doggie friend (or two) to be her guide, playmate, and emotional support. A cat-free home—Tootsie has a strong prey drive, and little critters just seem too tempting. And most importantly, a patient and experienced adopter who understands that some dogs don’t fit the “cuddly lap dog” mold—and that’s okay. She may never be the dog who comes when you call or begs for belly rubs, but in her quiet presence, there’s a profound kind of beauty. With time, trust, and the right environment, Tootsie will continue to bloom. And for the special family that sees her for who she truly is—gentle, loyal, and full of untapped potential—she’ll be an unforgettable gift. Tootsie’s not for everyone. But if you're someone who finds joy in the quiet wins and believes every soul deserves a chance to heal, then Tootsie just might be your once-in-a-lifetime dog.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
“TUCKER” is a beautiful creamy white AKC Standard Poodle who was born June 23, 2015. He weighs a healthy 71 pounds and measures 25 inches from the floor to his withers. This pretty boy was one of many Poodles who came to us in April of 2024 from a Minnesota breeder who was retiring. She wanted the best homes for her Poodles as they enter their “retirement” years. Tucker was adopted but sadly has been returned to us as his new family had a life-changing event and could no longer keep Tucker. When Tucker first came to us from the breeder, he quickly learned all about being a family dog. He followed us around our home while being a part of our family, knew how to come when called, sat upon command and was always ready for hugs and attention. We had taken him to various public events, including several softball games that our grandchildren were playing in. While there, he had a good time enjoying the noise, commotion, and people all around him. He also received and enjoyed a lot of love, attention and hugs from many of the children at the games. Tucker is still a quiet, soft, gentle, easy-going big boy, a real cream puff. Going for his daily 2-mile walk with Mike when he listens to the birds sing, watching the squirrels running around and meeting people, he is on the TOP of his list of fun things he loves to do. I would also like to stress that he is a very smart boy and has quickly figured out what to do and when. Example, rattle the Cheerios bag and he knows it’s time for breakfast as Mike sneaks Tucker a few Cheerios from the bag. Did I tell you that he is such a very smart and a very good boy?! While Tucker has been around other dogs all his life, he completely ignores small dogs but is just fine with other easy-going large dogs, like our Standard Poodle Lola. Yet, Tucker has been a perfect boy all by himself as he considers himself a member of a family and NOT a dog. He continues to love greeting people who come to visit, is completely housetrained and has full access to our entire home all day, at night and when we are gone. Such a good boy! *A SECURLY FENCED YARD will be recommended as he has been a kennel dog and used to a fenced yard. *You must be physically able to handle a large Standard Poodle. *Preference will be given to a quiet family with past Standard Poodle experience. *Large, easy-going dogs are fine. BUT PLEASE: *NO puppies or cats. *NO aggressive or assertive dogs (they scare him and me). *NO young children. *Like most all rescue groups, we do NOT adopt our Poodles to homes more than 1 day’s drive (round trip) from our location here in central Minnesota. He has been neutered and at his dental appointments, he had many of his rotting teeth removed. He is now eating a hard kibble, so there is no need for soften or canned dog food. Tucker is such an amazing loving, smart and good boy that we want the best for him. Everyone loves him, including the staff at our Vet’s office as they all wanted to take him home! He has been Vet checked healthy, is up to date on vaccinations, worming, heartworm/lymes/Ehrlich/ Anaplasmosis (4DX) tested negative, placed on a heartworm preventative, and Home Again microchipped. Tucker’s adoption fee is $300.00 which includes $22.00 for our 7.875% Minnesota state sales tax and helps pay for just some of his vet work. Also included is his leash, collar, a bag of quality dog food, a 10-gallon dog food container, treats, a cute toy box, along with a new blanket, a large, soft dog bed and lots of good information to help your Poodle adoption move forward on the right paw! Again, Tucker is a very nice Standard Poodle boy who wants and truly deserves a loving “forever more” home for his “retirement”. Story
Elliana They gave me a fancy name at last! Can you believe it? I have been used as a breeder dog for years and years and then dumped at the local pound with a mammary gland tumor that you could play tennis with!! Who does that!!! At least that is what my foster mom thinks my life has been like. I sat there in a cage at animal control for 4 weeks before anyone would think about pulling me out of there but my foster mom said that she had to take me home so that I would have a chance to be a beloved pet before I die. Not that I am planning to do that anytime soon, but you never know. Anyhow, I went to the vet right away and had that big nasty thing taken off my stomach and the vets knew right away what it was and what it was from. They took out the baby making bits as well, so I won’t have to go through having my babies and then losing them right away to being just a baby and money making factory for somebody. Sheesh….get a job!! I have some issues, I won’t lie, but I am starting to kind of get used to being out of a cage, where I learned to circle around and around as there wasn’t a lot of space in those things. I can walk in a straight line and the more I get time outside, the more I am enjoying the fresh air and smells in the grass. I will revert to circles when I am nervous but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I have only had freedom for a couple of months now. I don’t have many teeth, as the ones I did have were rotted and broken from trying to eat the bars I suppose. I startle easily from the lack of being held and loved in my former life, and will try to “gum” you if I pick me up too quickly. But speaking to me and touching me before you pick me up will let me know you are there and going to be gentle with me. I am still getting used to the being held part, and sometimes can’t tolerate it very long, but I am learning and going slow is really helpful to me. I am learning what good food tastes like, and what a soft bed feels like, and while I have pretty limited vision to see things, I can follow my nose and it helps me to find everything I need to get around. Foster mom leaves me a puppy pad to potty on in the house if I have to go at night, and I am pretty good at using it. It took a while to figure out that is what it was for, but also, if I potty outside after meals, I am good if I keep to a schedule. So that is my story. If you are interested in giving a blind old lady a soft landing for the rest of my life, let me know. Local adoption in Texas only please.

Story
Me me me me meeeeeee!!!!!! What? Oh. My foster mom says that is NOT how to spell my name. It is spelled “MiMi" which sounds the same but who cares how it is spelled. I am a vintage model of a little poodle and I was a much loved member of the family at one time. Not to say that I am spoiled or anything but I know what I want when I want it! So it really is all about me! I adore being around my people and love being held. I will make little whimpering noises if you are there and I think I haven’t had enough lap time and look at you with my puppy dog eyes so that you feel guilty and pick me up where I want to be. I am a healthy 14 year old poodle who is scheduled for spay and teeth cleaning on Jan. 5th and then will be able to go to my new home after that. I use a potty pad when I am sleeping on the floor, but my foster mom puts a diaper on me when I sleep on your bed because I am not too keen about jumping off the bed. So when I have to potty, if I am on the bed, sometimes I will potty the bed. But the diaper takes care of that. I am a whopping 10 pounds and do walk pretty well of a leash as long as you don’t walk too fast. I am housebroken if you take me out on a schedule. Adoption fee in Texas is $200 Out of State fee with transport and fuel surcharge is $450.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Honolulu is a tiny, trembling little puff of poodle who is working incredibly hard at being brave in a world that still feels very big and very loud. She’s the kind of dog who watches life from a safe perch—usually the couch—like a quiet spectator trying to learn the rules of a game everyone else already knows. Under her soft curls is a tender heart that desperately wants to trust, but needs time, calm, and consistency before she can take those steps. Right now, Honolulu is a professional observer. She spends most of her day lying in one cozy spot, taking careful notes on the household’s comings and goings. She likes other polite, gentle dogs who don’t invade her personal bubble—bonus points if they’re calm and confident, the kind who can show her that the world isn’t nearly as scary as it seems. Loud noises, sudden movement, busy environments, or any hint of commotion send her scurrying for safety, so her perfect home will be peaceful, predictable, and very patient. Because she is lightning-fast and an escape artist of Olympic caliber, she requires a fully secure 6-foot fenced yard, double leashing, and extremely careful handling. She has slipped out of harnesses and collars before, so her adopter must truly understand the seriousness of keeping her safe. She freezes on leash and is not yet comfortable walking, so yard time is currently her best way to get fresh air. Despite her fears, Honolulu has shown glimmers of what she may become someday. With the right dog buddy by her side, she quietly relaxes a bit. She eats only when no one is watching, so her foster family kindly gives her privacy at mealtimes. She is crate trained, quiet, gentle, and completely non-destructive. And when the home is calm and the pressure is low, she settles into her favorite activity: quietly lounging on the couch, taking comfort in being near—even if not touching—her people. Honolulu isn’t ready to be a typical lap dog, and she may never be the outgoing, social butterfly that some poodles are. But she does want to learn. You can see it in the way she watches other dogs, the way she edges a tiny bit closer each week, the way her tail relaxes when she feels safe. She is trying, in her own delicate way. Her adopter will need patience, gentleness, and a realistic understanding that progress may be slow—and that’s okay. Honolulu doesn’t need perfection. She needs safety. She needs calm. She needs another small, steady dog friend. And she needs someone who sees her not as a project, but as a quiet, sensitive soul who has survived a lot and deserves to bloom at her own pace. If your home is peaceful, your heart is gentle, and you have the time and dedication to help a scared little dog discover life’s softer side, Honolulu might one day trust you enough to show you the tiniest wag of her tail. And in her world, that would be a victory worth celebrating. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
