Cricket is a 5 month old very petite kitten with the cutest face. She was born at her foster home after her pregnant mom was found dumped on someone's property. She is just as sweet as can be and loves attention. She'll come up to her foster mom, rub on her legs and jump in her lap for love and pets. She loves playing with all kinds of toys and likes to nap with other cats/kittens on the couch or cat trees. She has not seemed bothered by her foster mom's 4 dogs and should be fine with dogs as long as they are cat-friendly. Cricket should have another cat or kitten in her home or have someone who is home a majority of the time. She would not do well being left alone for long periods of time.

MaryAnn is a petite 5 month old kitten with the cutest round face. She was the only girl in her litter of 4 who were bottle fed by their foster mom from 2.5 weeks old. She stood up well to her 3 crazy brothers! MaryAnn is lovable, loves attention, and very go with the flow kind of gal. She is active and plays with all kinds of toys as well as other kittens. Her energy level is a little less than that of her 3 brothers. She has one rear leg that is a bit shorter than her other legs but it does not slow her down. We recommend a home without small children for MaryAnn (ages 10+)

Meet Smokey, aka Smoked Sausage. Smokey is a 13-year-old tabby who has perfected the art of looking deeply unimpressed while actually being a playful, energetic, and very entertaining cat. Just look at that face. Smokey appears to have several serious concerns he'd like to discuss with management. In reality, what he mostly wants to discuss is when you're going to play with him again. Smokey has a surprising amount of energy for a 13-year-old. He loves chasing toys, batting at anything interesting, and generally behaving like someone forgot to tell him he's a senior citizen. He also makes the most adorable little chirping sounds when he wants something. And he will let you know when he has a request. Smokey is a little timid and may take some time to feel comfortable with new people. He isn't the cat who is likely to march into a new house and immediately assume ownership of the place. Give him some time, let him come to you, and you'll get to know the funny, playful personality hiding behind that perpetually grumpy expression. When Smokey came into foster care, he was very skinny and was already on a prescription renal diet. He has done well in foster care, but he will need to remain on a prescription renal diet for life. He also takes oral medication for his tummy. Fortunately, Smokey is an easy patient: he happily takes his medication when it's tucked into pill wrap. There is one important requirement for Smokey's new home: he needs to live in a dog-free household. Smokey is terrified of dogs and would not be comfortable sharing his home with one. Smokey is currently living with his "sister." They aren't related by blood, but they came from the same former owner. They get along, but they aren't bonded, so Smokey does not need to be adopted with her. His ideal home would be a relatively quiet one where he can settle in at his own pace. Older children who understand that a cat may need some time to warm up would likely be fine. He also has excellent litter box etiquette, because apparently even a cat who looks this judgmental has impeccable manners. If you're looking for a senior cat who still has plenty of kitten in him, loves to play, communicates with adorable chirps, and comes with his own permanently grumpy facial expression, Smokey may be your guy.   To  adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. Macaroni was born early-to-mid april 2026 and is a large brown tabby male. Macaroni can be a bit timid at first but warms up quickly and is the absolute sweetest.  He enjoys playtime, meal time, and cuddle time. He is often part of the feline pile ups on someone's lap and enjoys sleeping on the bed with his humans, wherever there is an open space.  He is very laid back and happy to go with the flow, whether waiting happily for pets or being moved to a different nap spot. Macaroni does not seem to enjoy being alone in a room and would appreciate a full time companion. He would be happy to go home with his brother Linguine, or make a potential new friend in the form of any furry companions you may already have, preferably a fellow feline.    To  adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat in its foster home. Aptly named for his ursine-looking face, Grizzly is a friendly, affectionate kitty who loves to hop up on laps for a little lovin'. His other favorite activity is playing with wand toys. 😺 He came from a home with another cat and a small dog, both of which he got along well with. Though we can never make guarantees, this indicates he may do well with another cat or a cat-friendly dog. When Grizzly was relinquished by his previous owner, he had bladder stones (a serious and painful condition), which were dissolved by feeding him a prescription urinary diet. He will need to be on this diet for life to ensure no new stones develop. Grizzly is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and FeLV/FIV negative.

Storm is a sweet house panther who will purr when you pet him and likes to snuggle with his people in bed or on their lap – though as his current mom says, “it has to be his idea.” ;-) Though he may take your heart by storm, this handsome guy is relatively quiet and has an independent side. He enjoys fishing pole type cat toys as well as any toys that move on their own, but he is also happy to entertain himself with paper bags and empty boxes. He seems to enjoy being picked up by his people. Storm is currently living with another cat and they get along well. Though he has never lived with a dog, he used to play chase games with a neighbor’s cat-friendly black lab. This suggests that Storm may do well in a home with other pets. Although Storm was previously an indoor/outdoor cat, he has transitioned to indoor-only life the past few months and appears to be perfectly happy with this situation. Storm is about 9 years old (a Pisces! born March 16th), neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. He has always had perfect litter box habits. Storm’s mom is looking for a new home for this sweet guy because of his mom's change in living situation. We (FFOCAS) are helping her safely rehome this sweet boy. Interested? Are you tired of the same old cats? Are you looking for something new and different in your next feline companion? Could you use a little excitement in your life, on a regular basis but nearly always when you least suspect it? Well, keep reading – Silas might just be the cat for you! This adorable little panther is quite affectionate and lovey with his humans. He enjoys petting and scritches and will let you know with a wonderful little purr. But this is just about where any sense of “normalcy” ends with this cutie. Silas has been known to get a little "swatty" and, for extra fun, to attack feet and legs. You know, kind of like a herding dog who doesn’t have enough opportunities to actually ... herd? Except he’s a cat, so behavior that would be a little different and “special” in a dog, might be considered extra different and extra special in this little guy. But wait, there’s more! Silas recently had a dental procedure during which nearly all of his remaining teeth had to be pulled. So some of the sharper, pointier aspects of his sneak attacks are likely to be dulled. Intrigued yet? Because there is yet more! This boy is also not a huge fan of veterinary restraint, which means ... that’s right! Your vet will love him too! (No worries – gabapentin is not prohibitively expensive.) What’s that you say? You would just not take him to the vet if he hates it? Well ... you will actually need to take him to the vet sometimes because ... he also has chronic rhinitis. So generally what this means is that every so often (with a frequency neither we nor you are likely to know in advance), Silas will probably have a flareup of sneezy snottiness, at which point, your vet will, we’re sure, be happy to prescribe some basic meds to get Silas back to feeling his best and ready to go for your ankles once again! You might be thinking, yeah but no way could you ever medicate a cat like this! On this one point though, Silas is quite helpful: he has the food drive of a Labrador retriever. So stick that pill in a piece of food, wash it down with Churu, and you’re set! On a more serious note, since adopting any new pet is, after all, serious, and we want to be sure you’re ready for the commitment: Some of Silas’ attitude could be due to a history as an indoor/outdoor cat. He may simply feel constrained when kept strictly indoors rather than given the freedom to roam. Having a mouthful of bad, painful teeth and finding himself in county lockup probably did not help his demeanor. Also, it's likely that someone inadvertently rewarded this behavior and one could certainly try to reward *other* behaviors -- *any* other behavior really! -- and not this one. While we think that having his dental pain resolved, being out of a cage for good, getting some more helpful communication, and just having some stability in his life will help him to be his best self, very likely, at least to some extent, he is who he is. Silas is currently at Frederick County Animal Control. Staff feel that Silas might do best in a home where he would have room to roam – which could mean a larger home with many elevated perches available, such as cat trees, cat shelves, or other surfaces where he would be welcome to roam and to rule. Or it could mean a home with a nice large catio, a yard fenced for kitties, or another means of providing safe outdoor time for him. We (FFOCAS) would also cover the cost of a consultation with a cat behavior consultant if you ever wanted professional insight and recommendations. Silas is estimated at about 6 years old and is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. He is available for adoption from Frederick County Animal Control.
