Story
Hi, I'm moving out of the country and need to find a loving home for my cat, Bubbles. She’s about 13 years old, fairly healthy, and has always been an indoor cat. She’s house-trained and has no behavioral issues. Bubbles is vocal—she loves to “talk” and will meow loudly when she wants attention. She does not get along with other cats, but she loves dogs. I'm not sure how she is with children, as she hasn’t been around them much. That said, she’s very gentle—we’ve never had issues with her scratching, even during baths or when giving her medicine. She also doesn’t jump on counters. She needs to find a new home before April 25. Please contact me if you're interested or have any questions.

Story
Mae is a beautiful senior cat looking for a home. Her owners are retiring and will no longer be able to care for her. She is a sweet girl, still playful, and purrs as soon as she sees her humans. She takes methimazole for hyperthyroidism. She would do best in a quiet home as an only cat.

Story
Milo is a lovable, handsome, young guy who has been through a lot of changes in his short life. He was born in November of 2020. Now he is looking for someone who will love him and give him the forever home he needs to show just how much love he has to share. When Milo was only 2 years old, his brother and best cat friend passed away. After that, he tried his best to make the family dog his replacement friend but it just wasn't the same. Not long after that, a human family member became ill and Milo was taken to a shelter. All the noises at the shelter scared Milo but fortunately, he was only there for a day or two before he lucked out with a very kind, patient foster mom taking him home. When Milo arrived in his foster home, he was scared and has had to learn to trust again. Fortunately, his foster mom knew Milo had lots of love to give so with her patience and expert guidance from a cat behaviorist, Milo discovered the view from the top of the dresser was much better than the "obstructed view" beneath the dresser and pets from a human are really nice. Milo enjoys his foster mom's dog - when it isn't too crazy - so would probably be happiest in a home where he has a calm cat and/or dog buddy. He also needs a quiet home because loud, unexpected noises send him back to the "obstructed view." Older children in the home would be fine too if they are willing to let Milo come to them on his own terms. Milo also loves to talk so he will gladly tell you all about his day. Story
Satsuki has an abundance of Big Kitten Energy. She was born in November of 2023. She loves toys and tunnels, chasing and wrestling with her sister, Mei, watching birds and squirrels from the windows, exploring and getting into everything. She also loves people and will great you, tails up, with trills, meows, and nuzzles. Satsuki will also follow you everywhere. Satsuki is great with dogs and even rabbits, but wants to be at the top of the cat pecking order. This makes her a little too assertive for some other cats. She is never aggressive, but will chase, hiss and swat. Her sister Mei, though, is always her BFF! Satsuki and Mei are very bonded so must be adopted together. Adopting a pair can be a great advantage if you are out of the house for long days at the office. Their unique bond guarantees endless joyful exchanges as they play, cuddle, and groom each other. Satsuki and Mei will also welcome your participation during play time and nap time! Due to their high-energy level, they are not recommended for very young children but are excellent companions for older elementary kids and up. Story
Meet Foxy – The Silly, Confident Boy Who’s Ready to Shine! Introducing Foxy! This charming little guy was once being fed by some kind-hearted people, but unfortunately, he was being chased away by the other cats at the site. Luckily, Foxy is now in a safe place where he can let his personality shine! Foxy is a silly, confident boy who absolutely loves to give head butts and spend time with his favorite humans. He’s still learning how to play with toys, but you can already see his playful spirit beginning to grow. With a little patience, we know he’ll master the art of playtime in no time! When it comes to other cats, Foxy would do best with a slow introduction. He’s definitely open to making new feline friends, and he might even enjoy the company of a cat-friendly dog! While he hasn't been tested with kids yet, his foster family believes that with his enthusiastic personality, Foxy would absolutely love to have a kid of his own to share his joy for life. If you're looking for a fun-loving, affectionate companion to add some extra love and laughter to your home, Foxy just might be the one for you! Could this sweet boy be the perfect fit for your family? Come meet Foxy and find out! All of our cats are in foster homes. Foxy has been vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. Submit your application today. https://humaneloudoun.org/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Kira is a loveable 6 lb. ball of fluff with the best grumpy face (though she's not really grumpy; she's a sweetie pie). She loves treats, being petted, and playing in crinkly bags. Her favorite spot is on the cat tree by the window in the sun. She can't hear but responds to hand motions and eye contact/lips moving. She probably would pick up on signs very quickly. Kira has chronic kidney disease and high blood pressure, which are well controlled with medication and a prescription diet. She's an incredibly sweet, gentle cat who just wants to be near people. We don't think she'd do well with small children but definitely would love older kids that respect her boundaries. She isn't much of a cuddler but does love being petted and hanging out with her peeps. She LOVES to play. Play is her love language. She has a few favorite toys that will go with her to her new home, including a crinkly tunnel.

Story
Gentle, sweet senior kitty Patty is looking for a loving home where she can spend her remaining time sitting on laps and getting lots of cuddles. She's an affectionate 15-year-old girl, who despite her age, still enjoys play sessions with her foster mom. Patty has early-stage chronic kidney disease, a common and treatable condition in older cats, that is well managed with prescription food, medication, and subcutaneous fluids, all of which she tolerates very well. Patty is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and FeLV/FIV negative.

Story
Handsome, 3-year-old Finn is an outgoing, smart, somewhat impish boy. He greets everyone with his tail straight in the air, enjoys daily training sessions with his foster mom (he can give a high five and go to his mat on cue), and throws himself into playtime with kittenish abandon. But Finn was probably mishandled before being rescued and is still learning that he can trust people not to handle him in ways he finds unpleasant. Because of this, Finn needs a quiet adult-only home with a patient adopter who will take the time and effort to earn his trust. Finn is neutered, vaccinated and FeLV/FIV negative.
