Story
Joey is a beautiful silver and gold tabby/Bengal (we think) mix with long legs. He is a very sweet and affectionate young cat who loves his humans. He’s energetic, inquisitive and focused, able to track a fly in the house until he finally catches it! He loves running water and plays in the empty bathtub. He is leash trained. We have had Joey since 6/1 and have really fallen for him so are heartbroken that we need to rehome him. Unfortunately, the chemistry between him and our older cat (a neutered male) is just not working despite our best efforts, so we have to choose. Joey needs one or 2 playmates closer to his age to play/wrastle with. He likely would also get along with cat friendly dogs, but has not been exposed to dogs yet. Joey is very healthy and is about 11 lbs. He is neutered, chipped and up to date with shots. He responds to his name. Let's have a conversation if you are interested!

Story
This is Coco. Our baby of 12 years. She still behaves like a kitten. She is spry, full of energy and loves to snuggle. She has the cutest meow and she is not shy. The same deal as My other cat, I will have them for a month, if my mom can’t get better by the end of the month we agreed that we need to rehome them for their sake. I don’t have the means to take care of them and my mom can’t physically at the moment. If you want an older cat that can hang with young cats and still be playful she’s your gal!

Story
This is my baby. She lived with my mom and I for 14 years. She has been an indoor cat her whole life so she is still healthy. She is mellow and very sweet. Shy to new people but is a love bug when you know her. She is the sweetest cat and will miss her dearly. She must go because my mom is in a physical care home. If my mom gets out and back into an apartment before the end of the month she will go back to her, but if not she must go. This will be plenty of time for you to meet her and decide if you are interested!

Story
***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 9/19/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Dolly This beautiful shorthaired tabby/white girl is SO ready for a home of her own. Picture this. You're a young single mother of very active quintuplet toddlers, and someone shows up to say "look pretty and playful, you're on camera!" Now imagine what Dolly thought, and you'll understand her very inactive video. "Please. I am exhausted. I just want to sit here and be adored. Pet me, but for the love of Friskies, please do NOT ask me to exercise in any way, shape, or form. Oh, and WHEN. ARE. THEY. BEING . ADOPTED?!?! I need some rest. Please. I am begging you. Just let me nap for ONE SEC... oh no, they are pouncing on my tail again...." We do think Dolly, who is only about a year old, will be happy to play once the kittens have moved on to their new homes. But if you want to just offer her a warm and cozy, QUIET sunspot for the first week or two, she would worship you forever. Dolly hasn't yet been tested with other cats and dogs (really, 5 rambunctious kitten roomies are ENOUGH for right now), but we will be able to do so soon, as those kittens will be moving on out. Now it's Dolly's turn! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Dolly is a suggested minimum of $60 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 9/19/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement – part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Misfit, one of 15 cats and kittens who found themselves homeless and in need of the shelter after their owner died with no "succession plan" in place for these babies. Thankfully, family members were able to help us figure out the approximate ages for the adults, and they were better socialized than one would expect in a family with so many cats. The adults as a whole lived as indoor-outdoor cats, so could be placed in similar situations, though the orange kitties do not have very safe coloring for areas with predators (indeed, there is a reason only two of the cats from this household are seniors, and the rest are all 3 or younger - indoor/outdoor lives do shorten most cats' lifespans). They did not live with dogs, but so far do not seem terribly perturbed about the dogs they see from their screened Meow Manor porch area, so should be able to adapt to homes with polite, cat-savvy canines. Obviously, they are all quite used to living with other cats! Misfit, with an estimated date of birth of 3/1/2024, is a shorthaired orange tabby boy who looks like he may be the crew foreman for his feline family. He leans in for petting, but also has an independent air about him, giving the impression he is trying hard to not care whether you love him or not (but he REALLY REALLY DOES care, shhhhh). He deserves to be someone's special boy, and we think he would love to pretend that he isn't reveling in the soft and fluffy feeling of sleeping on your bed. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Misfit is a suggested minimum of $60 (more gratefully accepted). Story
Meet MaoMao! Mao plays the middle child, balancing between her two siblings. She likes to play & chase but also cuddles on your lap readily! She likes licking and kneading soft blankets- a bit of a remnant of perhaps being separated from mom- this is a source of comfort for her. Mao gets along well with both her siblings. A note about kitten adoptions: They can go together or individually to a home with another cat- but we do not advise adopting a single kitten. It is best for most kittens to be adopted in pairs- or go home with another cat. This helps avoid "Tarzan syndrome" where single kittens become difficult because they have no one to play with and bite them back. This can become quite challenging to manage as they age- and is often a reason people desire to surrender cats later. Also, nearly everyone who started out only want one cat, come back about 6 months later and ask for another as a companion. However, it is much simpler to start with two that are bonded from the start!

Story
Meet Zara! She was a young mom to a litter of 6 but those days are behind her as she's spayed and ready to go! Zara is a sweetheart- very snuggly, purring and happy to make herself at home in your lap- and she loves making biscuits! She's a joy to have and will make anyone very happy. She can go home alone, to a home with another cat or with one of her babies. Cats who have already been with other cats already and enjoy them, often do well when paired. Many times when people consider just one, they will seek a companion down the road- when it can be easier to send them home together. So if you don't already have another cat, please consider her with one of the babies.
