If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered. Adoption Fee: $700   Basil is a 9 month old Yorkie x Norwich Terrier who has a green thumb and a garden of love in his heart! Basil came from the shelter with a few of his friends after his former home was no longer able to care for him. We told him we would find him a perfect forever home and it's been smooth sailing ever since. Basil weighs 13 pounds and is as happy as can be to follow you along on all of life’s adventures. Basil is a pip-squeak boy with a heart bigger than his body and he promises to make all your wishes come true if you are lucky enough to bring him home!    Basil is the sweetest pup looking for a home ready to give him the best life has to offer from toys to belly rubs to snuggles to walks to treats. This little boy has the most fabulous habit of building pillow forts and curling up on them like the king he is. He loves prancing around the house and yard with his toys as he shows off his adorable face. Basil loves his people more than anything and would love to take on the world, whether on a leash or in a doggy backpack. He has bursts of puppy energy and adores squeaky toys, but he’s also content lounging around and getting naps in. He also loves to shred paper so make sure you keep important documents away from this wannabee accountant! He would love a permanent spot on the couch in a cuddle pile, and with his little smiling face it’s hard to resist him.  Basil starts his morning at 7:30 AM with a potty break and some zoomies. This early bird always gets the best worms and happily greets the day. He waits a bit before breakfast, working up an appetite with toys and cuddles. Throughout the day, Basil loves to hang out with his people but he is also more than happy to occupy himself if needed. He loves soft beds, soft blankets, and warm laps to cuddle up on for hours at a time. At 5 PM, Basil has dinner followed by more playtime and an evening walk before he curls up for bed!  Basil gets along with the resident dog and would love a canine companion in his forever home! Basil experienced a leash for the first time in his foster home and he is learning to love exploring the world. He gains confidence as he watches other dogs and people do the thing, so he’d love to do it with you! Basil would love a home ready to put in the time to help him bloom into a confident dog. Watching Basil figure out the things he loves will be the best adventure there is for his new people!    Basil is only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. Kids in the home should be over the age of 12.June 16, 2024, 11:33 am

If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $650   The Candy Puppies are a litter of 3 month old adorable candy bars ready to be your sweet treat! The remaining litter is 3 puppies: 1 girl and 2 boys. We suspect there were many dads with hands in the cookie jar as the puppies have a variety of flavors but Mom was a tiny Chi. Maybe they share an ancestor with Dumbo because they all have fabulous ears! We think Dads were a Yorkie, an Italian Greyhound, and a Pug. Puppies will likely be in the 6-9 pound range when they reach their adult weights.  If you are looking for a fun-sized candy bar to add to your home, look no further than the adorable Candy puppies!    Kit Kat (M): Kit Kat is a ball of fun and brings down the house every night with his comedic exploits! Kit Kat is a total class clown and he does a great physical comedy bit: he takes a toy 4x his size and drags it around the house as his ears flap in the wind. This fabulous boy will keep you laughing throughout a lifetime of love and adventure. Kit Kat is also a charmer who knows how to park himself on a warm lap when he is ready for snuggles and pets. Kit Kat adores crawling into the pocket of his foster Mom’s hoodie and having her carry him around as he sees the world from new heights. Just another genius idea from our resident charmer! Kit Kat promises to bring flavor and excitement from the first bite!  M&M (F): M&M is the energizer bunny of her siblings and always gets the gang moving in the morning! However, as soon as you scoop her up, she is a cuddle puddle of love and adoration. She would love a home where she can get in on the action, even though you may need to give her a little time to grow into her legs. She looks the most unique of her siblings and boy does she know it! She is always happy to strut her stuff around the yard as she sniffs out new adventures to explore. M&M loves her people and wants you to adore her just as much! Looking for a road-trip gal? That’s her! Looking for an Instagram model? That’s her! Looking for an adorable and loving puppy with a heart of gold? You’ve met your perfect puppy with M&M.  Sour Patch (M): Sour Patch is a Mama’s Boy to his core. No sour with this boy, only sweet! Sour Patch is a tiny guy with a heart that is so big it can barely stay inside his body. He is more of a “sit back and watch the action” puppy than a “charge in head first” one, but he does like to play with his siblings! Sour Patch would be a perfect apartment dog as he is so small he barely takes up any space, but you’ll always know he is there because he won’t want to let you out of his sight! Sour Patch can’t wait to bring a burst of flavor and love into your life and get started on his forever adventures!    The puppies start their morning around 7 AM with breakfast as their play area is cleaned out from the night. They love saying hello to everyone in the foster home so the morning is their favorite time of the day. After they finish eating, the puppies get herded outside for playtime as the sun comes out. Throughout the morning they loop between play, sleep, and zooming around. After lunch at 1 PM, the puppies take a long nap piled on top of each other for an hour until they are ready for more fun! The afternoon is filled with more adventures in the toy bin as they romp around the yard and the house. They are ready for adventure! They come inside for dinner at 5 PM and then soak up cuddles from their foster family as everyone unwinds from the day. At around 10 PM, after lots of cuddles and play time, the puppies head to bed.  The Candy puppies have been well socialized with dogs of all ages and sizes. They adore people but due to their smaller size may not be the best option for small hands. As puppies, they will require socialization and training to ensure they are fabulous adults. We will be looking for homes ready to take on all that comes with the joy of puppyhood! If you are ready for a sweet adventure, you’ve met your match with one of our candy bars!    The Candy puppies are only an option for homes who have owned a dog in the last 5 years. We will be looking for individual homes for each puppy as we do not place siblings together. Kids in the home should be over the age of 8. June 16, 2024, 11:33 am

Story
Meet Olive. She is a fiesty, happy little girl. She walks well on a leash (and thoroughly enjoys her walks), loves to eat, housebroken, and sleeps much of the day away in her bed or on the couch. She came to rescue covered in filth and mats. That gave her a skin condition that required several months of treatment and recovery. But she is ready to go now. Her new adopter(s) will get the pleasure of watching her bald spots disappear! Many of those spots have fuzz on them already but a couple may ultimately remain hairless. She is only 6 pounds and cute as a button so, on walks, be prepared to hear over and over "oh, look at her...so cute". When she comes across dogs on walks, she is so excited she almost comes across aggressive. But when she gets face to face, she is so happy to meet them! Given the shape she was in when she came to us, it appears she has had a tough time in the past. She is still coming out of her shell and learning to trust. I have had the pleasure of caring for her for a couple of months thru her skin problem and she has come to trust me. It has been such a pleasure to watch. She plays with me, happy to see me, lets me put meds on, etc. She still has food aggression but, again, given her trust of me, I am now able to take her food without a problem. If you think she might fit into your home, please visit WrenYorkieRescue.org, click on Forms, fill out the adoption application, and mail in or submit online so we can set up a meet and greet.

Story
Kristmas was fearful and very nervous at the shelter when we rescued her. She is a special behavior needy dog. Kristmas needs time to warm up and feel safe. She can be handled and picked up. She was neglected with matts and had very long toe nails. She was probably too isolated prior and then left in the streets. Kristmas was fine meeting another dog on leash. She was nervous at our vet but they were able to care for her and clip her long nails. She is now in a quiet foster home and relaxing. At first she stayed in her crate inside dog pen and just watched. The next day she felt safer and ate a little. Finally came out and walked out to yard for potty biz. Sniffing and hanging out with the foster home's gentle friendly small dog. Kristmas needs time to decompress and feel safe. Will need an experienced guardian and quiet home situation with attached back yard. More info. to come. She will only eat home made cooked food. Foster home makes chicken or turkey with rice and veggies. She won't eat store bought kibble nor can. Update on day 2: At foster home she is very slowly warming up. She follows their 2 dogs around and out to yard. She needs a very experienced home with another dog to feel safe. Best no kids or older kids 10 yrs and up. She will flinch at fast movement and is head shy. She needs more time in her foster home to learn and be less fearful. She slowly will jump on the sofa and go to foster mom to sniff hands. Kristmas is eating very little now and likes Weruva canned food. She is still too nervous to eat a full meal. So maybe in another 2 weeks she will be normal but shy behavior. She was probably too isolated since a puppy so new people and places make her very nervous. Need to move slow and let her set her pace to trust and feel safe. She will not walk on leash but can be guided on leash at home with another dog around. Will take time for her adjust. She is not a dog for social outings or parks. March 2024: She is now walking on leash with a harness. Follows people and foster home's dog on walks. She was a very picky eater but foster home makes home-made meals of meat/veggies/rice for her and their dog. She now loves her food! June 2024: She's continued to improve. She is very loving dog now. Loves to go for walks and loves to run in the park. She gets along with her older brother Tony (terrier mix). Krissy is very gentle easy going loves dogs at the park. She is still a little shy with humans but allows strangers to pet her now. She needs a gentle loving family. She is still young so she loves to run in nature. Overall very loving and easy going dog. Doesn’t like fast movements or loud voices or shouting. She was good at groomer too.June 16, 2024, 12:40 pm

Story
Yuki was rescued from an over-crowded shelter. She was dumped out of a car at a park and then spent much time at the shelter. Had ear infections that were treated by shelter vet. She has been cooped up with pent up energy. She is active and needs exercise and training. She is having fun running and doing zoomies in her foster home's backyard. Already learned to use their doggie door. Now a happy little girl. Dog and people friendly. Tested fine with dogs at the shelter but they didn't do the dog guarding test. More info to come as she learns and gets healthy at her foster home. She will get her 2nd vet appt and grooming soon. Day two. She appears to need an experienced and adult foster home with no other dog at home. Yuki is a dominant female to other dogs and wants to be the top and only dog in household. She attacked the foster home’s Maltese male dog a few times today. Keeping separate with dog pen until dogs adjust to each other. She needs an experienced adult home only no kids under 12 yrs and will guide her. Fine with adults and sweet. Not safe around kids since she did react after a dog fight. Learned doggie door right away. House trained. Fast walker and needs exercise. Can meet new dogs on walks to sniff but then she ignores. She was under socialized as a pup. She is cute and confident personality to other dogs. Update 5/19/24: Yuki has learned and now doing much better with current foster home's dog. They can co-exist and play now after a rough few days. She is very sweet and playful with adults. Will need adult home only. No kids under 12 yrs. She does not like kids Sleeps in bedroom. Maybe older kids 12 yrs and up with dog experience. She is now playing with foster home's dog. They are now play buddies. They do zoomies together in their yard. Yuki was groomed and super adorable now. Next she will be spayed.
