Story
Looking for a cuddle buddy? Jinx might be your guy! Jinx is a 2-year-old male Yorkshire terrier dog and is ready to find his family. Jinx is a reserved and mild mannered initially. Overall though, he is a sweet, nice boy. He can get a bit nervous with people picking him if they move to fast, so talking to him in a kind voice and going slow with him is key. Because of Jinx’s breed, regular grooming appointments and daily brushing are important to keep his coat well maintained. Jinx would do best in a home familiar with his breed and is considerate of his size (he is under 10lbs) Visit the shelter during our Animal Viewing hours below to meet and apply to adopt Jinx. Story
What’s not to love about this little guy? Meet Duke, a 7lb, 13-year-old Yorkie. He found himself at a shelter when his owner had to go into assisted living. The shelter knew that was no place for this tiny dog. Duke came to us looking pretty rough. He weighed only 5 ½ pounds, his hair was sparse and oily, and his eyes and nose were nearly crusted shut. Our vet diagnosed him with a condition called neurogenic dry eye, causing not only his eyes to dry out but his nose too. The medication our vet prescribed did the trick! Duke has gained weight and is feeling and looking good! Duke's eyesight and hearing are a little limited but he gets around just fine. He can be a little wary of strangers and needs to take it slow, possibly due to his limited eyesight. But a couple of yummy treats convinces him that you're his best friend. Will you open your heart and home for this special little guy? FLFO requires a home visit therefore adopters must be within 40 miles of Baldwin MD.

Story
sweet small boy seeking fresh start and love! BRODY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Brody and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (May 5th) from 12-3 pm at the PETSMART in ALEXANDRIA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)!   Name:   Brody        Best Guess for Breed: Yorkie and dachshund mix Best Guess for Age:  5 years as of April 2024       SEX:  Male   Approximate Weight: 23 lbs   Gets Along With:   Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home.  Brody is Looking For:   His forever home! This small sweetie was surrendered to a groomer in South Carolina - the groomer had to shave him down to remove mats. He's forgotten all that already and is looking ahead to when he once again has his own home. He's eager to trot alongside his humans, exploring the world on all their adventures together. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on his wish list as well. And definitely daily brushing and regular grooming - mats hurt!   But you know what he wants most of all? To love and be loved, to know who his family is. He's stockpiling all those adoring gazes and tail wags and has his 'loyal companion' dial turned to max, all waiting for his lucky human. What do you say? Is there a Brody-shaped gap in your lap and your life? What My Foster Says About Me:   Coming soon! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
