Michael is a quiet, gentle little Yorkie with a soft soul who is still learning that people can be kind.   He is naturally very shy and cautious, and new people or sudden movements can feel overwhelming to him. When approached too quickly, his instinct is to run and find a safe space. But underneath that fear is a truly sweet and even-tempered dog who has never shown any signs of aggression—even when being picked up or handled for things like baths.   Michael is also a smart little guy who is already starting to show small but meaningful signs of trust. He will now take treats gently from your hand, a big step forward for him, and it’s clear that with patience, he will continue to build confidence at his own pace.   He enjoys the company of other dogs and feels comforted by them. He greets other dogs nicely and would likely benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to help show him the ropes and make him feel more secure.   Michael walks nicely on a leash and does well going outside for potty breaks, though he is still learning that all pottying should happen outdoors. He is gentle, quiet, and easy to love — the kind of dog who is simply happy to have a warm home, a soft blanket, and kind people nearby. He enjoys exploring at his own pace, lounging on the couch, and taking peaceful afternoon naps tucked into something fuzzy. Ripley is blind, so he appreciates a calm, thoughtful home where people move gently around him and talk to him before picking him up. He’s a lively, affectionate little companion who loves to cuddle, play with his toys, and follow his person around the house. He’s especially obsessed with balls, tug toys, and anything that squeaks — though fluffy squeaker toys don’t stand a chance with him. He’s a smart boy who knows sit, stay, come, down, go potty, and leave it. He’ll “tell” you when it’s time for treats, potty breaks, playtime, or snuggles, and he even gives hugs. McFly is crate trained, potty trained (outside and on pads), and enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard. McFly does have a few special needs that his adopter should be comfortable managing. My name is Tula, and I am a 7 pound female yorkie and about 6 years old. I can’t wait until I go to my furever home. I am  very brave girl and getting used to living with people, in fact I like the company of people, but I will back away if you approach me. I am a little cautious, but foster mom says I am getting braver everyday!  I love puzzles and treat dispenser toys, but my all-time favorite treat is dried chicken hearts! Yummy! Other than being a little cautious in new situations, I don’t have any other big fears! I’ve never been around young children, but I’m sure I would love them just as much as I love my foster mom! I am working very hard on learning how to go potty outside, and I was doing great, but then it got so cold, and I can’t seem to spend enough time outside to be able to go potty without getting too cold! I am comfortable sleeping in my crate even though I get a little anxious when I first get in. I am not trained to walk on a leash, and I only go potty in my fenced backyard, so I told my foster mom to make sure my furever home has a fenced backyard. I like to bark when someone comes to the door just to make sure they are nice! I also like to bark at night sometimes, but not all the time! I have never been around cats, but am a gentle girl so we might be fine. I like to play with dogs sometimes but I get jealous of them so I'd probably be best as an only dog. Though I am cautious of you and who I play with, I know I am the sweet little girl you and your family have been looking for. At just about 8- 9 pounds, she’s a delicate little soul who has survived more than she lets on. Missing most of her teeth, she sports a permanently peeking tongue, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life in her own quiet way. Albany is very fearful of human contact and still prefers to keep her distance, often scampering away when approached. She’s cautious with men, women, children, loud noises, and new environments—pretty much anything unfamiliar. But she’s slowly learning that safety exists, and she’s beginning to show tiny glimmers of trust: a tail wag, a quick dash toward her foster to sniff a hand, then a speedy retreat. These small moments are her version of bravery, and her personality is just beginning to come out.  When she goes outside, she likes to do the back scratch boogie, but only if no one is watching because well, she is still working on that confidence.   What truly brings her comfort is the company of other dogs. She blossoms around confident, friendly pups—playing, following their lead, and learning how to be a loved pet by watching them. A companion dog is essential for her continued progress. She would also do well with calm, patient adults who understand that trust for her will come slowly, in tiny steps, over time. This sweet girl is crate trained at night and sleeps quietly in her foster’s bedroom. During the day, she may bark a bit when crated but settles. Potty training is still a work in progress; she knows what she’s supposed to do outside but still has accidents, so diapers are helpful when she can’t be closely supervised. A fenced yard is required, as she is a flight risk and not yet comfortable on a leash.  Although she has started getting a bit better at it, she will still freeze when a car goes by so until she can master the leash, a yard will help keep her safe.   Despite her fears, Albany has shown moments of joy—playing with toys, interacting with other dogs, exploring the yard, and even showing a little goofy side. I am not trained to walk on a leash, and I only go potty in my fenced backyard, so I told my foster mom to make sure my furever home has a fenced backyard. At just about 8- 9 pounds, she’s a delicate little soul who has survived more than she lets on. Missing most of her teeth, she sports a permanently peeking tongue, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life in her own quiet way. Albany is very fearful of human contact and still prefers to keep her distance, often scampering away when approached. She’s cautious with men, women, children, loud noises, and new environments—pretty much anything unfamiliar. But she’s slowly learning that safety exists, and she’s beginning to show tiny glimmers of trust: a tail wag, a quick dash toward her foster to sniff a hand, then a speedy retreat. These small moments are her version of bravery, and her personality is just beginning to come out.  When she goes outside, she likes to do the back scratch boogie, but only if no one is watching because well, she is still working on that confidence.   What truly brings her comfort is the company of other dogs. She blossoms around confident, friendly pups—playing, following their lead, and learning how to be a loved pet by watching them. A companion dog is essential for her continued progress. She would also do well with calm, patient adults who understand that trust for her will come slowly, in tiny steps, over time. This sweet girl is crate trained at night and sleeps quietly in her foster’s bedroom. During the day, she may bark a bit when crated but settles. It is with a heavy heart that I am seeking a loving new home for my 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier. He is a loyal, affectionate companion who enjoys relaxing, short walks, and staying close to his person. As he has gotten older, he thrives in a calm environment with consistent attention and routine. She is incredibly gentle and wonderfully quiet — truly a dream dog for anyone with shared walls or a peaceful home. She never barks for attention, food, or visitors. Instead, she prefers to quietly observe the world around her, taking her time to warm up before offering her trust. Once she feels safe, she loves being in the same room as her person, napping nearby, and soaking up the comfort of simply being close.  Because of this, she would thrive in a home where someone is around much of the time to keep her company. Tallahassee is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves being petted and spending time outside. She has a soft curiosity about the world and enjoys taking in her surroundings at her own pace. She’s doing well on walks and continues to grow more confident with each outing. She has been doing very well with her potty routine when kept on a consistent schedule. Tally does best with regular potty breaks every 3–4 hours and will reliably go outside when given the opportunity. Tallahassee is wonderful with other dogs and has a very calm, respectful presence. She may feel nervous if another dog rushes up too quickly or in unfamiliar situations, and may try to quietly slip away until she feels safe again. She has made nice progress in the car and is gaining confidence with each ride. She has also learned commands like “come,” “down,” and “go potty.” She has several medical needs, including a heart murmur requiring twice-daily medication, as well as a hernia and significant dental disease. Due to her heart condition, she is not a candidate for anesthesia, so she is not able to be spayed and her dental and surgical needs will be managed conservatively. She will need a home committed to her comfort, routine care, and gentle handling. Tallahassee doesn’t have much interest in toys, but she loves soft treats, warm naps, and being near her person. Gary is an 18‑pound gentleman of distinguished age who has fully committed to the art of relaxation. He is, without question, the King of Sleeping. If napping were an Olympic sport, Gary would bring home the gold, the silver, and probably a commemorative snack. When he’s awake, he transforms into a slow‑moving shadow who follows his human around with the dedication of a very mellow bodyguard. He loves short strolls outside where he can sniff the neighborhood news, feel the breeze, and pretend he’s still a spry young lad. Then he returns inside to resume his royal duties: couch snuggling, belly‑rub requesting, and gentle snoring. Gary has a few special senior quirks—he’s partially blind, partially deaf, a little wobbly, and needs eye drops and daily pain meds. Stairs are not his thing, but being carried like the tiny prince he is suits him just fine. He’s working on potty training and does well on a schedule, especially since he sleeps through the night like a champion. He’s friendly with everyone, polite with dogs, and happiest in a calm home where he can nap in peace and enjoy his favorite hobby: eating treats. All treats. Any treats. Every treat. At just about 8- 9 pounds, she’s a delicate little soul who has survived more than she lets on. Missing most of her teeth, she sports a permanently peeking tongue, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life in her own quiet way. Albany is very fearful of human contact and still prefers to keep her distance, often scampering away when approached. She’s cautious with men, women, children, loud noises, and new environments—pretty much anything unfamiliar. But she’s slowly learning that safety exists, and she’s beginning to show tiny glimmers of trust: a tail wag, a quick dash toward her foster to sniff a hand, then a speedy retreat. These small moments are her version of bravery, and her personality is just beginning to come out.  When she goes outside, she likes to do the back scratch boogie, but only if no one is watching because well, she is still working on that confidence.   What truly brings her comfort is the company of other dogs. She blossoms around confident, friendly pups—playing, following their lead, and learning how to be a loved pet by watching them. A companion dog is essential for her continued progress. She would also do well with calm, patient adults who understand that trust for her will come slowly, in tiny steps, over time. This sweet girl is crate trained at night and sleeps quietly in her foster’s bedroom. During the day, she may bark a bit when crated but settles. Potty training is still a work in progress; she knows what she’s supposed to do outside but still has accidents, so diapers are helpful when she can’t be closely supervised. A fenced yard is required, as she is a flight risk and not yet comfortable on a leash.  Although she has started getting a bit better at it, she will still freeze when a car goes by so until she can master the leash, a yard will help keep her safe.   Despite her fears, Albany has shown moments of joy—playing with toys, interacting with other dogs, exploring the yard, and even showing a little goofy side. She has great potential with the right family: one that is patient, gentle, quiet, and willing to let her set the pace. With time, love, and a confident canine friend, Albany will continue to grow into the sweet, quirky little companion she’s meant to be.
