Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Avenzai and her 3 siblings found themselves dumped, unwanted and in a high kill shelter in West Texas. They are good with other dogs, and people, but cats are unknown. All dogs and puppies require supervision and training to be successful. She recently arrived in MN and we are getting to know her and will  update the bio soon.  She does need a little time to warm up to new people and dogs, but once she does she is a complete darling.  She shares the food bowls with the resident pups, walks well on a leash. She does bark at other dogs but she looks back at her people so proudly for protecting them.  First priority will go to someone who lives in the twin cities metro in order to bring to a vetting appointment.  Please put in your application on our website mattysheartandsoulanimalrescue.rescuegroups.org.      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 16, 2026, 11:17 pm

Story
He’s a good dog overall with a lot of love to give, but he does have some behaviors that require the right home. He can be reactive toward other animals and may bark or show aggression, and while he may initially bark at new people, he tends to warm up quickly once properly introduced. He isn’t comfortable around children or high-energy environments. I am at least his second home, so his exact age is unknown, though vets estimate he is between 3–6 years old. He is potty trained, eager to please, and very affectionate with his primary caregiver—he even “smiles,” which is one of his sweetest traits. He doesn’t play with toys and prefers canned food or softened dry food. He enjoys short walks and car rides. He can become possessive or aggressive with bones or long-lasting treats, so those should be avoided. He would do best in a calm, low-activity home with a single person or an older couple, no other pets or children, and someone who can give him plenty of patience and love.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Michael is a quiet, gentle little Yorkie with a soft soul who is still learning that people can be kind.   He is naturally very shy and cautious, and new people or sudden movements can feel overwhelming to him. When approached too quickly, his instinct is to run and find a safe space. But underneath that fear is a truly sweet and even-tempered dog who has never shown any signs of aggression—even when being picked up or handled for things like baths.   Michael is also a smart little guy who is already starting to show small but meaningful signs of trust. He will now take treats gently from your hand, a big step forward for him, and it’s clear that with patience, he will continue to build confidence at his own pace.   He enjoys the company of other dogs and feels comforted by them. He greets other dogs nicely and would likely benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to help show him the ropes and make him feel more secure.   Michael walks nicely on a leash and does well going outside for potty breaks, though he is still learning that all pottying should happen outdoors. He will need continued guidance and consistency as he settles into a routine.   Loud noises can be scary for him, so he’s looking for a quieter, low-traffic home where he can feel safe and not overwhelmed. A patient, understanding adopter who will let him move at his own pace will be key to helping him truly blossom. Because of his timid nature, he would do best in a home without young or unpredictable children.   One of Michael’s simple joys is chewing on a good marrow bone, and of course, he never says no to a tasty treat.   Michael may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away—but for someone willing to give him the time, space, and love he needs, he has the potential to form a deep and meaningful bond. Watching him grow in confidence and learn to trust will be incredibly rewarding. All Michael needs is someone willing to go slow…and show him that the world can be a safe and loving place.   Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  McFly is a 9&#226&#128&#145pound senior Yorkie mix with the heart (and energy!) of a much younger dog. He’s a lively, affectionate little companion who loves to cuddle, play with his toys, and follow his person around the house. He’s especially obsessed with balls, tug toys, and anything that squeaks — though fluffy squeaker toys don’t stand a chance with him. He’s a smart boy who knows sit, stay, come, down, go potty, and leave it. He’ll “tell” you when it’s time for treats, potty breaks, playtime, or snuggles, and he even gives hugs. McFly is crate trained, potty trained (outside and on pads), and enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard. McFly does have a few special needs that his adopter should be comfortable managing. He requires a low&#226&#128&#145fat diet, and his foster gives him vitamin B and probiotics. He can be protective of his belongings and may guard food or items he considers “his,” so he’ll benefit from continued positive&#226&#128&#145reinforcement training with an experienced owner. He also startles easily if approached suddenly, so he does best when people move slowly and let him know they’re coming. Despite these quirks, McFly is incredibly loving. He snuggles with other small dogs, brings his toys over when he wants to play, and bonds deeply with his person. He’s goofy, affectionate, and full of personality — the kind of dog who makes you laugh and feel loved every single day. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a sweet, spirited companion who will adore you with his whole heart, McFly is ready to be your little shadow and your best friend. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Matcha is a 12‑pound Yorkie mix with a heart full of love and a personality that’s all about her person. She’s an incredibly affectionate, cuddly little girl who wants nothing more than to be close to her human. She has a playful side and enjoys toys and fetch, but her favorite place in the world is curled up right next to you. She gets along well with other small dogs, though she doesn’t rely on them for comfort — she’s truly a “people dog” who prefers her human over canine company. She’s gentle, intelligent, and wonderfully well‑mannered. Matcha knows all her basic commands, is 100% potty trained, walks beautifully on a leash, and is easy to groom. She stands patiently for baths, nail trims, and even long grooming sessions. Matcha's biggest challenge is being left alone.  She is quiet and waits by your exit door if left in the home without closing her in a room, or worse, using a kennel.  If she's restrained or isolated, she will bark nonstop and fight for freedom.  Because of this, a family who is home most or all of the time is best for this love bug.  She also will not reliably potty while on a leash, so she requires a fenced in area to be successful. She’s cautious with new people at first but warms up gently. She’s great with kids, good with small dogs, and a lovely match for seniors or anyone wanting a devoted companion. She’s quiet, even‑tempered, eager to please, and incredibly loving. If you’re home often and looking for the sweetest little shadow who will adore you endlessly, Matcha is your girl. She will return every bit of love you give her — and then some.
