Story
Meet Jack! Jack is a sweet little guy who’s ready to start his glow-up era in a forever home! He can be a bit shy when meeting new people, but give him a little time, a gentle voice, and maybe a tasty snack, and he’ll start to show you the lovable pup hiding underneath. When Jack first arrived, he was having a bit of a bad hair day… or several. His coat wasn't in the best shape and he was definitely overdue for a spa appointment. After some grooming and plenty of extra TLC, Jack is feeling like a brand new dog and is ready to leave his “before” photos in the past. Available at the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Birdsboro Pa 19508, KL#1257

Story
Hi, I’m Charmaine 💕 I’m a five-year-old, 6-pound Yorkshire Terrier with a tiny body and a tender heart. The big, bright world can still feel a little scary to me sometimes, so I’ll need a very patient, gentle family to keep showing me that love is safe and forever. Because I’m such a delicate little lady (in both size and spirit), I’ll do best in a home without children. Sudden movements and loud noises can make me nervous. What I really need is a calm environment where I can move at my own pace and continue building my confidence. I could be perfectly happy as your one and only princess, soaking up all your love. But I’d also do well with another small, friendly dog who can help show me how to “dog.” Having a calm canine companion can be reassuring for me. I’m spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all my shots, so I’m ready to start my new life with my forever family. I’m a great eater (no picky princess here!), and I’m doing well with potty training. Since I’m still learning, a little regression might happen as I adjust to a new home — but with patience and consistency, I’ll keep improving. I sleep beautifully in bed at night and would be happiest next to you. I also do well when left alone in a small, cozy space. Once I feel safe, you’ll see my true personality shine. I’m a total cuddle bug who loves to be close to my person. I have the sweetest little bursts of playful energy, followed by plenty of time curled up in your lap. More than anything, I’m looking for someone who understands that healing takes time. If you have a gentle heart, a quiet home, and room in your life for a little dog who will love you with everything she has, I just might be your girl. Love,
Charmaine 🐾 Kennel License #9117 Reading, PA 19608

Story
Meet Dexter Dexter is a 10‑year‑old, 15‑lb Yorkie with a heart full of love and a surprising amount of pep in his step. He was found as a stray and brought to ACCT Philly, where we were lucky enough to find him and bring him into our care. Shelter life was understandably scary for Dexter, and he was quite frightened while at ACCT. But once he settled in with us, it didn’t take long for his true personality to shine. Dexter has been sweet, friendly, and affectionate with our volunteers, and he has had no issues with handling. He clearly enjoys human companionship and being part of the action. Despite being a senior, Dexter is far from slowing down. He’s still an active, happy little guy who enjoys moving around and greeting his friends, proving that age is truly just a number. Dexter is now patiently waiting for his forever home—a place where he can feel safe, loved, and cherished for the rest of his golden years. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with spunk, sweetness, and plenty of love to give, Dexter may be your perfect match. 💙 He would need to meet any resident dogs. He will come neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and 4DX tested. He also had a dental. Story
Meet Ginger. Ginger came to us after her owner passed away. She was in a home with many other dogs, cats and even pot belly pigs. Ginger is scared of new people at first, but she does like to cuddle once she gets to know you. She does seem to like men faster then women and will cuddle with them first. Ginger does like to be with other small dogs so a home with another small friendly dog is a must for her. She does not walk on a leash so will need a securely fenced yard to go potty and then follow another dog back into the home. Ginger will need a very calm and patient home. She needs someone with experience working with scared dogs. Ginger has come a long way in her foster home but would snap and bite if you cornered her when she first came to us. Now she comes up and sits on her foster's lap to sleep and cuddle. She is not housebroken. We don't know exactly what she is mixed with, her hair does seem like Yorkie and she is an adult, we think at least 5 years old. She weighs about 9 lbs. Ginger came to us spayed, but she was in desperate need of a dental cleaning so she just had that done and her vaccines are now all up to date. She is microchipped and tested negative for heartworm and was started on monthly heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $50.00. Because she does get scared easily we are not recommending a home with children for Ginger. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hello, My Name is Eliana, I am a 6 year old yorkie looking for a forever home with a family experienced with scared little girls who are picky about human men. I weighed in at 8.12 lbs and came into rescue due to my mom having health issues. I am a healthy girl and finished my vetting a bit ago, but have been working on my emotional healing that will be an ongoing process. I am crate trained and house trained. (With the exception of when I get scared. I do leak pee even if I just emptied my bladder) I‘m learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard is a must. I love to go on car rides, love other dogs, and to play with toys. I do love to be cuddled but, on my terms, and when I want. If you come at me too quickly, I tinkle. My foster mom is always asking what happened to make me so scared, and I just look at her and wag my tail. I love toys, especially the ones that squeak. I toss them around and squeak them as often as I can. I also love treats.... they are my favorite thing ever. I can't tell what my past was like, but in a calm home with a patient family, I will come around and blossom with time. Can you be my forever family!?! To adopt Eliana, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, spay, dental, and all the love you can handle!
