Story
Zeus was born 9/16/16 he is a nice dog that I tried training and just has very bad anxiety so he barks all the time. He was so small when we got him that he couldn’t go outside and release himself so we pad trained him. We have tried a lot to get him to stop in the house but I’m not an expert nor do I have the time that he needs me to be committed to him on. I’m sad to see him go but with the kids leaving for college and my work schedule, I feel worse that he’s being neglected. He needs a loving home to live out the rest of his life.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Ripley is a senior Yorkie with the sweetest little old-man heart. He is gentle, quiet, and easy to love — the kind of dog who is simply happy to have a warm home, a soft blanket, and kind people nearby. He enjoys exploring at his own pace, lounging on the couch, and taking peaceful afternoon naps tucked into something fuzzy. Ripley is blind, so he appreciates a calm, thoughtful home where people move gently around him and talk to him before picking him up. Loud noises and abrupt movements can startle him, but with patience and reassurance, he settles in and makes wonderful company. He may be shy at first, especially after all he has been through, but he warms up beautifully when given time and kindness. Outside, Ripley loves to wander, sniff, and take in all the smells, so he would be happiest with a secure fenced yard where he can safely explore. He gets along perfectly with other friendly dogs, but he could also do well as an only dog if his people are home most of the time. He has not shown much interest in toys, but he is a big fan of soft treats and cozy couch time. Ripley is affectionate, well-mannered, gentle, and sweet in the quietest way. He does not ask for much — just a safe place to land, a patient family to love him, and a soft blanket to call his own. Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.    ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Want to meet me? Come to Underdog Rescue Headquarters (3345 Dakota Ave, St. Louis Park, 55416) on Sunday, June 7th from 10:30 am - 12:00 pm. Please email inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com for questions regarding the dogs. Michael is a quiet, gentle little Yorkie with a soft soul who is still learning that people can be kind.   He is naturally very shy and cautious, and new people or sudden movements can feel overwhelming to him. When approached too quickly, his instinct is to run and find a safe space. But underneath that fear is a truly sweet and even-tempered dog who has never shown any signs of aggression—even when being picked up or handled for things like baths.   Michael is also a smart little guy who is already starting to show small but meaningful signs of trust. He will now take treats gently from your hand, a big step forward for him, and it’s clear that with patience, he will continue to build confidence at his own pace.   He enjoys the company of other dogs and feels comforted by them. He greets other dogs nicely and would likely benefit from a calm, confident canine companion to help show him the ropes and make him feel more secure.   Michael walks nicely on a leash and does well going outside for potty breaks, though he is still learning that all pottying should happen outdoors. He will need continued guidance and consistency as he settles into a routine.   Loud noises can be scary for him, so he’s looking for a quieter, low-traffic home where he can feel safe and not overwhelmed. A patient, understanding adopter who will let him move at his own pace will be key to helping him truly blossom. Because of his timid nature, he would do best in a home without young or unpredictable children.   One of Michael’s simple joys is chewing on a good marrow bone, and of course, he never says no to a tasty treat.   Michael may not be the dog who runs up to greet you right away—but for someone willing to give him the time, space, and love he needs, he has the potential to form a deep and meaningful bond. Watching him grow in confidence and learn to trust will be incredibly rewarding. All Michael needs is someone willing to go slow…and show him that the world can be a safe and loving place. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    McFly is a 9‑pound senior Yorkie mix with the heart (and energy!) of a much younger dog. He’s a lively, affectionate little companion who loves to cuddle, play with his toys, and follow his person around the house. He’s especially obsessed with balls, tug toys, and anything that squeaks — though fluffy squeaker toys don’t stand a chance with him. He’s a smart boy who knows sit, stay, come, down, go potty, and leave it. He’ll “tell” you when it’s time for treats, potty breaks, playtime, or snuggles, and he even gives hugs. McFly is crate trained, potty trained (outside and on pads), and enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard. McFly does have a few special needs that his adopter should be comfortable managing. He requires a low‑fat diet, and his foster gives him vitamin B and probiotics. He can be protective of his belongings and may guard food or items he considers “his,” so he’ll benefit from continued positive‑reinforcement training with an experienced owner. He also startles easily if approached suddenly, so he does best when people move slowly and let him know they’re coming. Despite these quirks, McFly is incredibly loving. He snuggles with other small dogs, brings his toys over when he wants to play, and bonds deeply with his person. He’s goofy, affectionate, and full of personality — the kind of dog who makes you laugh and feel loved every single day. If you’re an experienced dog owner looking for a sweet, spirited companion who will adore you with his whole heart, McFly is ready to be your little shadow and your best friend. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Albany is a tiny Morkie with a big journey ahead of her and an even bigger heart tucked beneath her shyness. At just about 8- 9 pounds, she’s a delicate little soul who has survived more than she lets on. Missing most of her teeth, she sports a permanently peeking tongue, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life in her own quiet way. Albany is very fearful of human contact and still prefers to keep her distance, often scampering away when approached. She’s cautious with men, women, children, loud noises, and new environments—pretty much anything unfamiliar. But she’s slowly learning that safety exists, and she’s beginning to show tiny glimmers of trust: a tail wag, a quick dash toward her foster to sniff a hand, then a speedy retreat. These small moments are her version of bravery, and her personality is just beginning to come out.  When she goes outside, she likes to do the back scratch boogie, but only if no one is watching because well, she is still working on that confidence.   What truly brings her comfort is the company of other dogs. She blossoms around confident, friendly pups—playing, following their lead, and learning how to be a loved pet by watching them. A companion dog is essential for her continued progress. She would also do well with calm, patient adults who understand that trust for her will come slowly, in tiny steps, over time. This sweet girl is crate trained at night and sleeps quietly in her foster’s bedroom. During the day, she may bark a bit when crated but settles. Potty training is still a work in progress; she knows what she’s supposed to do outside but still has accidents, so diapers are helpful when she can’t be closely supervised. A fenced yard is required, as she is a flight risk and not yet comfortable on a leash.  Although she has started getting a bit better at it, she will still freeze when a car goes by so until she can master the leash, a yard will help keep her safe.   Despite her fears, Albany has shown moments of joy—playing with toys, interacting with other dogs, exploring the yard, and even showing a little goofy side. She has great potential with the right family: one that is patient, gentle, quiet, and willing to let her set the pace. With time, love, and a confident canine friend, Albany will continue to grow into the sweet, quirky little companion she’s meant to be.
