Story
Meet Ombre, an 11-month-old Akita who radiates an easygoing and sweet demeanor that captivates everyone she meets! Despite her young age, Ombre displays a maturity beyond her years, approaching life with a calm and gentle disposition. Ombre came to our shelter as a stray about 6 weeks ago. She was found with her sidekick companion, Margarita, a sweet, timid, 11-pound, 3-year old Chihuahua.  Ombre is an exuberant, playful and very loving dog. She is very gentle with Margarita, so they are housed together and often hang out in the yards together. While Ombre thoroughly enjoys playing and interacting with others; she would thrive equally well in a home with or without another dog, thanks to her independent nature and friendly demeanor. Ombre's love for playtime is infectious, and her charming personality makes her a wonderful addition to any loving household ready to provide her with the care and companionship she deserves. Ombre has a beautiful coat, weighs about 40 pounds, seems quite potty trained and also very quiet in her kennel that she shares with little Margarita. Ombre is good with every dog and every person she has ever met; loves to play with soft toys and most of all, has discovered the joy of a kiddie pool in the heat! At the shelter, we often let them play together, but also separate them out. I have been taking Margarita home to play with my littles so she can build her confidence and come into her own. She is a delightful little girl (whose cherry eye will be fixed when she is spayed soon). Both Ombre and Margarita are vaccinated and will be chipped and spayed  We would love to get sweet Ombre and Margarita out of the shelter so they can continue to grow and thrive in a home. Ombre and Margarita are being cared for at Yolo County Animal Services in Woodland, CA (near Davis and Sacramento Airport). Story
Aloha! I'm Butter and I'm a 11-week old, pure-bred Akita puppy. I'm a love bug that loves to be held and cuddled. Unfortunately, I won't be able to be held for long, as I'm already 20 pounds! I'm going to be a big girl that will need lots of training while I'm still a small pup. The Vet said that I might have hip and joint issues that will effect me as I grow, so adopters should be prepared to take me in for an orthopedic consult. If you're interested in giving me a good home and can afford appropriate medical care, apply to adopt me! Apply to adopt me through the Oahu SPCA! Story
Ike and Tina are 7-month old Akitas that were surrendered to the shelter because their previous family lost their home. They are both house trained, know basic commands and like attention. They appear to get along with other dogs, but Ike can get protective when larger dogs are around, so they would continue to need more positive training and socialization experiences with other dogs and people under well-managed and safe conditions. They would most likely do best with an experienced owner that can guide and train them as they continue to mature. Continued obedience work with an instructor familiar with Akitas and/or northern breed dogs is recommended. For more information about them and to meet them, please contact: Front Street Animal Shelter 2127 Front Street Sacramento, CA 95818 916-808-7387 Shelter Hours: Monday to Sunday, 12pm to 5pm Ike and Tina are located in Kennel #505 (This listing is to help assist direct placements of rescues that are currently with other rescue groups, shelters or their current owners. Shadow Nose's Story Meet Shadow Nose: Your Future Best Friend! 💖

Hi there! My name is Shadow Nose and I’ve been waiting patiently for the perfect person to bring me into their family. Could that be you?

I’m a 4-year-old, 53-pound, Akita German Shepherd Mix with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging! My foster family says I’m incredibly sweet, affectionate, and well-adjusted with just the right amount of energy to keep you smiling every day.
Here’s a video to help you get to know me better: https://youtu.be/lvdhggj4fPo
🩺 My Special Needs
I have been diagnosed with mega-esophagus, a condition that means my throat is oversized and I need a little extra care when eating. But don’t worry — it’s super manageable! My foster family and veterinarian have created an easy routine that keeps me happy and healthy. I even have a fancy custom feeding station (built just for me!) where I eat and drink comfortably.

🐾 Why You’ll Love Me
From my captivating smile to my playful spirit, I’m the kind of dog who lights up a room.
I’m:
- Affectionate: I’ll happily cuddle up with you after a fun day.
- Energetic and playful: I love tossing my toys around and trying my best at fetch!
- Learning to have good canine manner
- I’m crate trained, know how to use a doggy door and can be left home alone without any issues.

 🌟 A Star Companion
I’m great with adults, strangers and kids and I even love car rides! One of my previous fosters took me to the Veteran’s hospital, where I brought smiles to everyone’s faces. At home, I’m bouncy and playful, but I also know how to wind down with a cozy nap in my dog bed.

🐕 My Ideal Home
I’d love to be your one-and-only furry friend, but with the right introductions, I might get along with another dog. I have "bossy" tendencies! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about them. My moderate energy level makes me a great fit for most homes and I promise to fill yours with love and laughter.

💖 Let’s Make It Happen!
If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion, I’m your girl. I’ll warm your heart with my adorable smile and keep you entertained with my goofy antics. Check out my video of me tossing my toys around — you’ll see how much fun we could have together!

Don’t let my special needs hold you back—I’m one of a kind and ready to join your family. I can’t wait to meet you!

Story
Looking for a dog with both brains and a sense of humor? Meet Angel, a 1-year-old Husky mix who's a little smaller than your average Husky but just as majestic. With his expressive eyes and quirky personality, Angel is equal parts mystery and charm.Angel is an independent soul who doesn't rush into friendships-he prefers to take his time getting to know new people. Once he trusts you, though, you're in for a treat. He's goofy, clever, and always up for a training session (especially if snacks are involved). You might even swear he's cracking jokes with that mischievous little glint in his eye. While he's not a fan of being touched by strangers, Angel has lived with other dogs and would likely do well with a canine buddy who respects his space. He thrives with routine, patience, and someone who understands that trust is something he gives thoughtfully-and when he does, it's truly special.Angel would do best in a home with dog-savvy adopters who can continue his training and support his confidence. If you're looking for a loyal companion who'll keep you laughing and always surprise you with his smarts, Angel might just be your perfect match.Ready to earn the trust of this one-of-a-kind guy? Come meet Angel and see if he's the partner you've been looking for. Primary Color: White Weight: 43.4 Age: 1yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Hello there, I'm Teddy. I'm a sweet boy looking for a special forever home!I am a little shy at first but once I warm up you will see the joy in me. I'm very dog social, have lots of puppy energy, and love to please. I like playing tag (you're it) and running with my foster brother and friends at the park. My favorite game is when my foster dad tries to water the plants and I try to stop the water. I am crated trained and learning sit, stay, and come. I walk close to my foster dad when on walks because I'm shy, but am slowly seeing that the world is a beautiful place. I might be big for my age, but I am still a pup, which means I am timid if alone and will need a little extra patience until I mature. If you're looking for a fun and loyal addition to the family, then you have found me.***ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED*** Primary Color: Red Secondary Color: White Weight: 65.4 Age: 0yrs 11mths 1wks

Hiya, I'm Brendon! The life of the party, a big ball of energy, and a bit of a goofball. My journey here? Well, let's just say there was a long wait at another shelter, a big fire, a long ride in a van and here I am. I think the northern climate is going to be more to my liking than my previous home. And manners? Who needs 'em when you've got charm? I might need a bit of training there, I admit. But hey, I'm great with other dogs, well, once I get over my initial dorkiness and revert to playing, I'm great. Adopt me, and I promise, we'll turn every day into a fun-filled adventure! ***ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED*** Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 72.2 Age: 2yrs 3mths 3wks
