If you answered yes to both of these questions, Chee Yoo could be the perfect dog for you. Chee Yoo is a beautiful, 5 yo medium/large female dog that came to Jelly's Place from South Korea in July 2021. Why has such a wonderful dog not been adopted yet? Read further to find out. Chee Yoo is very timid and nervous around people. She LOVES other dogs, and has become best friends with another Jelly's dog named Pepe. Pepe has a very similar personality to Chee Yoo and the two of them are like 2 peas in a pod. Chee Yoo can guard her food which is not surprising given where she came from. So, care needs to be taken with another dog when food, especially high value foods, are around. During her time at Jelly's Place, Chee Yoo has gone from hiding in the corner to taking daily walks on a leash. She is becoming more comfortable and confident, but still has a long way to go. She has learned to trust her primary caregiver, but is still not comfortable interacting with other people. Chee Yoo would do best in a calm, quiet home with dog experience and older or no children. Chee Yoo is NOT a dog for first time adopters. She needs adopters who are willing to be patient and to give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable, confident and loved. Another dog in the home is essential. and we prefer to keep Chee Yoo with her buddy Pepe. If you are interested in adopting Chee Yoo, we recommend that you come and spend time with her on several occasions so that she becomes comfortable with you. Meet Ombre, an 11-month-old Akita who radiates an easygoing and sweet demeanor that captivates everyone she meets! Despite her young age, Ombre displays a maturity beyond her years, approaching life with a calm and gentle disposition. Ombre came to our shelter as a stray about 6 weeks ago. She was found with her sidekick companion, Margarita, a sweet, timid, 11-pound, 3-year old Chihuahua. Ombre is an exuberant, playful and very loving dog. She is very gentle with Margarita, so they are housed together and often hang out in the yards together. While Ombre thoroughly enjoys playing and interacting with others; she would thrive equally well in a home with or without another dog, thanks to her independent nature and friendly demeanor. Ombre's love for playtime is infectious, and her charming personality makes her a wonderful addition to any loving household ready to provide her with the care and companionship she deserves. Ombre has a beautiful coat, weighs about 40 pounds, seems quite potty trained and also very quiet in her kennel that she shares with little Margarita. Ombre is good with every dog and every person she has ever met; loves to play with soft toys and most of all, has discovered the joy of a kiddie pool in the heat! At the shelter, we often let them play together, but also separate them out. I have been taking Margarita home to play with my littles so she can build her confidence and come into her own. She is a delightful little girl (whose cherry eye will be fixed when she is spayed soon). Snowball, 5.5 years old, neutered male, Australian Shepherd/Husky mix, 46 pounds. Snowball is BURIEN, WASHINGTON and available immediately for meet-and-greets. If you do not live within a reasonable driving distance, virtual chats can be arranged. "Free Dogs." That was the sign Snowball's owners held up outside a shopping center late at night. A kind family passing by took Snowball and his brother, Simba, in until they had to move and were unable to keep or care for them any longer. That's when we came in. We had him fully vetted and transported him from Texas to the PNW. Snowball may be an adult but this boy is always up for play time! He had a foster sister who has since been adopted. She was a boxer mix who had no "off" button and he was able to keep up with her. He's energetic while playing but when it's time for a nap, he's ready to curl up and sleep. He's not encountered any dogs while on leash but has an overall cheerful personality so we don't anticipate any issues once given the opportunity for proper introductions. He has also gone to boarding and had play groups with other dogs and did great. Snowball has not been around cats or kids. We recommend a home with kids 14 years and older. Snowball has impeccable house manners: he's fully potty, crate and leash trained, although he does pull a bit on lead. He enjoys going into his kennel, has no issues with separation anxiety or other destructive behaviors, and hasn't demonstrated any food aggression or resource guarding. Snowball is a bit greedy around food but has learned to share treats and toys well. He is a notorious plushy killer and likes making his own "snow." He is part husky, so he can be mischievous if given the opportunity - he likes practicing his escapes and leading you on unforced cardio jaunts! We have no idea his history, but do know movements above his head make him very scared. If you raise a household item or move your hand to fast, he cowers or barks. His foster mom has had him in her care since January and knows his personality very well. He takes a few times to meet new people and then does wonderful. He is needs a quieter home with people who accept him for who he is. He would love to be the center of attention without having to share affection but does see the benefit of having a romping buddy to chase about. ;) He loves snuggling and is quite affectionate. He can be a bit of a scaredy cat when meeting new people but is much better than when he first came into our care. His ideal home would be with someone patient, willing to help him continue coming out of his shell, and with a moderate amount of activity. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***
