Engaging, charismatic, gregarious, and spirited are the first things you sense about her from the moment she enters a room. Emi exudes a brand of joy that makes her impossible to resist! Not until you witness her graceful elegance and see a bit of frost around her muzzle, do you realize she is a senior beauty with an abundance of life experiences to share. She’s 8 yrs old and has found herself homeless, but she’s seen enough in life to know there’s still a wonderous journey ahead. She is a lover of people and she’d much rather be enjoying a fun adventure with you by her side on interesting walks or trips to the beach, than be left at home alone. She needs to be an only dog and is not suitable with cats. She is approximately 60 lbs. and seems unaware she has some arthritis and hip dysplasia. If you answered yes to both of these questions, Chee Yoo could be the perfect dog for you. Chee Yoo is a beautiful, 5 yo medium/large female dog that came to Jelly's Place from South Korea in July 2021. Why has such a wonderful dog not been adopted yet? Read further to find out. Chee Yoo is very timid and nervous around people. She LOVES other dogs, and has become best friends with another Jelly's dog named Pepe. Pepe has a very similar personality to Chee Yoo and the two of them are like 2 peas in a pod. Chee Yoo can guard her food which is not surprising given where she came from. So, care needs to be taken with another dog when food, especially high value foods, are around. During her time at Jelly's Place, Chee Yoo has gone from hiding in the corner to taking daily walks on a leash. She is becoming more comfortable and confident, but still has a long way to go. She has learned to trust her primary caregiver, but is still not comfortable interacting with other people. Chee Yoo would do best in a calm, quiet home with dog experience and older or no children. Chee Yoo is NOT a dog for first time adopters. She needs adopters who are willing to be patient and to give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable, confident and loved. Another dog in the home is essential. and we prefer to keep Chee Yoo with her buddy Pepe. If you are interested in adopting Chee Yoo, we recommend that you come and spend time with her on several occasions so that she becomes comfortable with you. Jabulani, lovingly nicknamed Jabu for short, is a sweet girl looking to affectionately nuzzle her way into your heart! This precious girl absolutely adores being in the company of her human companions. She greets everyone she meets with a curly tailed tail wag and lots of slobbery kisses. She also makes sure to show off her agile spins and funny vocalizations to wow her new friends. She is an energetic and active pup that would love to go for long walks, spend some time playing fetch in the yard, training using positive reinforcement methods, and enjoying a nice food puzzle. Jabu is also a gold medalist at tug-of-war and an expert in squeeky toys. Jabu really loves her people and can be heard whining and complaining when left at home alone. With some support from our behavior team you should be able to work through her very mild separation anxiety.Overall, Jabu is a smart and bouncy girl, spinning around when she gets excited and even loves exploring the beach and dipping her paws in the ocean with her humans. Kuma is a male Akita Mix that is about one to two years old. He still squats to pee! He is such a sweet boy with a happy-go-lucky temperament and medium energy. He has shown to do well with other dogs big and small. He is playful when they want to play and takes social cues well. He is very well-mannered. Echo is a chill, smart and loving dog that settled in quickly and smoothly into his foster home. Highly trainable, and polite on a leash, he catches on quite quickly to instructions and loves his structure. He enjoys a typical day playing and socializing, having a blast on his multiple daily walks, and cuddling up at night on the couch. He is a homebody at night, and oh boy he loves his outings during the day. Echo loves to run! His foster sibling can attest to the fact that he is comfortable with other dogs and would make a fantastic doggy sibling. He is not particularly fond of toys or bones, but he sure loves his food! He must have some awesome doggy dreams because he sleeps like an angel. He thrives with patient, caring people who are comfortable going slow with his physical space, so he'd be best-suited with older, dog-savvy kids. Loki is a 4 year old husky mix who came to Rocket Dog after his owner passed away. Loki has been living with his friend Quinn. They rely on each other for comfort and companionship, and must be adopted together. These dogs are typical huskies - active, energetic, vocal, and playful - but they have great training and would adapt well to a home environment. They would do best in a home who has experience with huskies or has done the necessary research and prepared themselves for caring for these special dogs. Loki is an extra-large guy and does need to lose some weight. He currently weighs in at around 110 pounds.
