He was born at the home of an 80-year-old woman who had 24 dogs — including two pregnant females that gave birth to 9 puppies each. Slowly but surely, we’ve helped reduce the number of dogs, but Tito’s adventurous spirit couldn’t be contained. Tito and his brother figured out how to jump their broken backyard fence and became local celebrities in the desert, often spotted hanging around the restaurants at the Four Corners — especially Starbucks, their favorite hangout. Despite the frequent “lost dog” posts on our community page, we’d have to explain: They’re not lost, just sneaking out again! One morning, Tito was even spotted standing on top of a police truck at the substation.
