GROWING IN CONFIDENCE DAILY: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 37 lbs. Hi there! My name is Tippy! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I sure am happy about that. I’m in a great foster home, where I am gaining confidence every day – blossoming into a wonderful family member for a lucky family! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I enjoy the company of the dog who lives in my foster home. In fact, I am learning a lot from her about just being a confident girl – things like sitting for dinner, walking on a leash, playing with tug toys, etc. I would likely benefit a lot from having a doggie friend in my new home, so if you have a nice doggie already, let’s meet! / My foster says I am ‘cat savvy & friendly’ – showing just a cautious interest in cat activities without being intrusive. If you have a dog-friendly kitty, let’s meet and see if we can be pals! / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, though my foster says I would likely do best with older gentle kids who will be patient with me, so let’s meet if you have kids like this. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I was a bit shut down when I first arrived at Mostly Mutts, but the volunteers were patient and just went slowly with me as I learned the shelter routine. I slowly began to relax and – now that I am in a great foster home, I am making progress each day in growing my confidence. My foster describes me as a ‘sweet, friendly, gentle, and loving pup’. Still a bit unsure, I have a resilient nature and - despite my lingering unsureness, I am determined to continue to grow into a confident pup. I’m playful and fun-natured with my people and furry friends alike. / My current energy level in my foster home is 3-5, however, they think that once I get over my nervousness, I’ll likely exhibit more of a 4-6 energy level. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m a pretty bright girl and respond to correction with the word ‘no’. In my foster home, I am working on ‘sit’, ‘down, ‘stay’ and ‘come’. I bet you can reinforce these and teach me even more! / I enjoy spending time in my crate on my own accord, and most times will enter on command. However, I don’t like to sleep in it overnight – preferring to sleep on the bed or floor beside my foster parents. / I’ve not had overnight accidents in my foster home, but – during the day, I don’t yet alert that I need to go out. My foster has me on a frequent let out schedule (about every 2 hours during the day) to avoid accidents. I’ll need my new family to be patient with me and know that they will need to finish potty training me. • LIKES/DISLIKES: In my foster home, I love to spend time on the couch, and I am progressively spending more and more time with my foster family as my nervousness subsides. I also LOVE to run in the backyard, roll on my back for belly rubs, chew on Benebones, chase my doggie friend and tennis balls, and rest in the shade of the garden. A nice, fenced yard in my new home would be a GREAT place to do these kinds of things with you – In fact my foster thinks a fenced yard where I can burn off energy with my family is needed. / I’m still nervous in new settings and when unexpected sounds occur, so be patient with me as I settle into my home. I don’t really like to be alone, so a mom or dad that works from home would be a great fit for me. I will walk upstairs, but cry for your assistance to come down them. This will likely improve as my confidence grows. Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. When I was at the shelter, I would get hives or have an allergic reaction at times, so I sometimes needed Benadryl. Just ask about this. I am looking for a relatively calm home with a wonderful family! My adoption fee is $299.00. I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. September 5, 2024, 6:43 am
