Story
Foster was found in Detroit and never claimed. So he was neutered, heartworm tested negative, brought up to date on his shots and received a microchip. Foster is looking for a loving home. He likes an active family that likes walks and bike rides. He likes to play ball and loves his toys. Foster does like other dogs but he likes to wrestle when he plays and can be a little much for some dogs. Some dogs do not like that and therefore they probably won't like foster. He can sit and shake and he will stay for a treat. He will sleep in a crate or on a pillow on bedroom floor or right next to you in bed. He is not be ideal for small children. He is a big boy and will knock small children over. He needs work on his manners. He can get mouthy when he is bored and wants to play. He also needs work with his jumping. If he gets his walks and exercise he definitely does better with his manners. Foster is a big love bug and would love someone who can give him a forever home. Foster's adoption fee is $125. We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 75-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 dog/cat that you are interested in.-Attach a copy of proof of home ownership (i.e. tax bill, deed, or mortgage payment – you can black out the account #, etc.) or animal clause/agreement of your rental agreement. This must be in a .jpeg format. If you are unable to send in this format, please be prepared to provide this documentation in another way prior to adoption.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other dogs/cats. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
Hey there! This is Thunder (M) and Lightning (F), They are purebred American Bulldogs and they are brother and sister from birth. They love to cuddle and play tug of war with ropes. My main note for anyone tryin to adopt these lovely cuddle bears, are that they are BIG! They both weight in the 80-90 Lbs range. They do well with our bosses dog, the dog kind of bullies them a lot, and i haven't seen them pushed over the edge yet. Im not sure how they would do with kids, they are very protective of us, and it's only been one and half month of taking care of them. Not to mention again, they are huge dogs. They are very gentle and just want to lay on you most of the time. Thunder has a knee issue that we were told could be fixed with therapy. So the background part... About 2 months ago, we found out our co worker (who got arrested), left his dogs at his old house for 5 WEEKS! We resuced them and they now live at our shop with us, we don't want to give them up to shelter.
