I’m a mastiff/bulldog mix who was born around 8/14/21.I weigh about 80 pounds and have a heart full of love… and playfulness!! I’m now current on all my vaccines, but because my previous owners didn’t properly care for me I tested lightly for heartworms. But that’s ok… I’m. being treated for them on slow kill method by The Artemis Project, AND they will continue to provide and fund the medications for the duration of my treatment even after I am adopted… and I’m SO ready for a wonderful life and just waiting to go home with YOU and meet my new family. I have a calm personality and an easygoing nature. I'm a solid boy with a gentle way about me. I enjoys being close to my people, I walk nicely on leash, and I settle comfortably in a crate. I'm not high-energy or demanding — I'm totally content to just relax, keep you company, and be a steady, loyal presence in the home. I'm good with female dogs (we're not sure about male dogs or cats) and I'm crate trained too! I'm simply looking for a home where I can feel safe, appreciated and truly part of the family. Venus was rescued back in October. Her first week in rescue was 24/7 hospital care on IV liquids, antibiotics, and pain medicine. Her diagnosis included several broken ribs (likely from humans kicking her). We have a strong inkling that Venus somehow escaped from the life of a bait dog for dog fighting which sadly is commonplace in our state. She was very thin, every bone in her body was protruding and she had very infected abcesses all over her body from bite wounds. She had heartworms and has completed the full treatment. She has made a complete recovery and is ready to be a part of a family, something she has never had before! She does not get along with other dogs. Cats aren’t her thing either, but she makes up for it with loyalty, affection, and the sweetest temperament. Venus is ready to brighten someone’s world. Could it be yours? Meet Bruce!! Bruce is anxiously waiting for life with his forever family! He is the sweetest American bulldog mix you’ll ever meet! He has an estimated birthdate of 11/08/23 and weighs in currently at 60 pounds. But this guy is pretty underweight so he won’t stay at that weight long. Bruce’s story is that of true heartbreak. He had been abandoned, left roaming both sides of Hwy 71 alone for way too long. He obviously wants very good at scrounging up enough food to sustain him. He also was found with puncture wounds, scratches, and cuts covering front half of his body. But his spirit has not been broken. He is a very loving boy who is good with other dogs both on and off leash. Bruce is undergoing treatment to help him battle his wounds and he has been brought current on his vaccinations. But he has tested positive for heartworms so he is also being treated for those on the slow kill method. The Artemis Project is covering this treatment and will continue to provide and fund the medications until he is clear of heartworms, even if he is adopted before that ,so please, don’t let that negatively impact your decision to give this wonderful and deserving guy a home of his own. No dog should suffer this way, especially one with such a gentle spirit. Please, step up and be his lifeline.
